Best Sushi in town, easily…read more Great variety of sushi, and they have combination platters so it is easy for a family or couple to try multiple things in one sitting. This isn't just a sushi place though, they have the chef from the "Knotty Pine" Chinese place before they got new owners, so they have an excellent array of Chinese food as well, as their chef has been doing it for over 20 years now. They also serve Koren BBQ, along with some traditional food for the picky eaters in the family. Service is always friendly. Been to this location 15+ times and never once had bad service. I will admit not every server has their first language as English, but they understand good customer service and being polite. Please don't let this be a deterrent. Environment is great, located in a very quite area there is no outside noise pollution, and decorations feel very thematically appropriate for an Asian cuisine restaurant. It still isn't extremely well known, so at this time no reservation needed as they often have room for you. Plenty of booths in this location! Price is slightly higher, around 16-25 dollars per order, but this provides you with a lot of high quality food that is almost certain to fill you (this price includes a drink / beer). Comparing the quality of food to city sushi places that charge the same, I would say the price is actually a bargain. Overall review: 9.5/10, highly recommended as one of the most unique and tasty restaurants in Kincardine.

Haven't really had great sush since I returned to Michigan, in 2016, from Chicago (I really miss…read moreMitch at Toro), but then we found it with Jeff at the Surfsider Sushi Bar at the Windjammer in Lexington. After 'Jammer re-modeled and re-opened it seems like the menu has been renovated and rejeuvenated as well as the dining area. At Sunday Brunch, we noticed some sushi rolls and we were thinking an extension of grocery store fare -- boy were we wrong. The seared bluefin is something I cannot have enough of. We made arrangements to sit a 16-course Omakase (Chef's Choice) and had such a great dinner that we made reservations for another on our way out. Anyone, well, most any trained chef, can cut up fish. Getting good, sushi quality fish and then having them made into combinations that blossom into delightful bites is not something that you can easily find. We were presented with three different pieces of mackeral and rated them on taste, saltiness, etc. They say a picture is worth many words, so see some of what we were eating (it's more difficult to take, & track, pictures while you are enjoying a meal -- and my intent was to enjoy the meal, so my apologies if I've mislabeled any of the pictures). Called an…read moreorder in and we were surprised the wait time was almost an hour for them to make our food. No problem, we'd rather have it fresh than sitting around. Miso soup was good but a bit on the small side. We enjoyed the veggie gyoza as they were fried to a crisp. I ordered the avocado cucumber roll, Futo Maki roll, and yam tempura dragon roll. The BF ordered the tuna roll, salmon avocado, and French Kiss roll. We both noticed they were wrapped extremely loose and we had difficulty picking up each piece with chopsticks without them falling apart. Flavor-wise we found them all a bit bland, even the speciality rolls- which was really a shame because the cheapest roll was $9. Our total was $100 with tip which we found to be on the expensive side for the quantities received. Next time we're in town we'd try elsewhere or just not order sushi until we're back home.

We ordered 3 spicy rolls which came to the table the smallest rolls I have ever seen which were literally doused in spicy sauce. When I complained I was told "oh well that's how we make it and there's nothing we will do about it. The miso soup was luke warm and extremely salty. Even the beef udon soup was flavourless. The only thing which was good was the edamame. The restaurant itself had no ambiance or warmth. BUT WAS I WRONG. Although the prices were higher, it made up for it with the HUMONGOUS portions and surprisingly fresh fish!! We've tried a variety of their specialty rolls and dinner sets. I'd personally skip out on their tuna sashimi, but everything else we've had so far was delicious! I recommend calling in advance to place your order (usually takes ~20min to prepare). The owner has always been pleasant and packs our order nicely. Definitely our favourite spot to get take-out food in Fergus :)

I typically order the sushi boat: Momo Combo and you can taste the freshness in the sushi pieces and sashimi. This boat typically serves 2 people. Service was a little bit slower the last time I went but usually they're really friendly. Absolutely love having Nicki as our server because she always remembers us and our orders. She works very efficiently and always served us with a smile. As for the interior of the restaurant, it could use a bit of work/renovations to make it feel more like a Japanese restaurant. It kinda gives off a western vibe. They took away some tables/chairs so there's limited seating now. Due to this reason, we sometimes call in to reserve a table during weekends and peak times, and to pre-order our sushi boat before arriving. This way our meal is ready when we arrive and we also don't have to wait for a table!
