I highly recommend Harwood Automotive. Their office staff…read morewas very efficient taking my call & scheduled my appointment within a very reasonable timeframe. Once my car was being repaired, I was able to call & speak with my service rep & receive immediate feedback. After a part was ordered for me, they called to let me know it was in. They're very professional & completed my work in a timely manner. Their customer service is like many businesses used to have.

I have had several of my vehicles serviced here over the past few years. Usually I have very good…read moreinteractions, quality work, etc. My most recent service brought me to write this review, I took my early 2000s Toyota Sedan in for spark plugs and a transmission fluid change. When I picked up the car it had a pretty poor misfire on cylinder #5, and it turns out at some point the spark plug strap was bent up on install. I also had to bring the car back for a pretty active leak from the transmission drain plug, it turns out that the "one time use" crush washer was reused and it leaked pretty profusely from the drain plug. These are common mistakes. They happen, I get it. However, within 10 seconds of sitting in my car to pick it up I heard and felt the misfire. I don't know if the technician had a bad day or what, but that is just sloppy work. Someone didn't double check after the tune up. Someone also forgot the crush washer on my trans drain plug. If I hadn't checked under the vehicle for fluid leaks when I performed my oil change, this would have ruined my transmission. All of this being said, Harwood did make both of the issues right at no cost to me. They worked quickly to fix the issues.

My car kept overheating. I figured it was the thermostat. I took it to another place in Mint…read moreHill, they told me my engine was shot. I needed a new engine which would cost about $5K. Then they found out GM no longer manufactured my engine, so it would cost $7K for them to put in a used one. That didn't sound right to me, so I called Coffey to see when I could bring my car by the shop. I didn't tell them what the other repair shop told me. Coffey said it was the thermostat, and charged me $372. A big difference from $7K. Needless to say, I won't be going back to the shop that tried to cheat me. They figured a gray-haired old lady was stupid. They were wrong!

We decided to have it checked out, to see what the problem was. (We could see $$$ in our minds.) Coffey's has performed other work on our cars, in the past, so we took it to them and left it, while they investigated the problem. A couple of hours later, David called and told us the A/C was working and we could come pick it up. The best part: it cost us a lot less than other repair shops wanted to charge! These guys are the best at what they do!! They are trustworthy and very accommodating. Do yourself, and your wallet, a big favor. I can't say enough good things about Tech Automotive in Charlotte. I first brought my car in for a…read moreradiator issue and water pump replacement, and the service was quick, affordable, and professional. A couple of days later, my car started overheating again. I called them, and without hesitation, they told me to bring it in right away. They quickly diagnosed a completely different problem--my thermostat and a faulty sensor. Even though this was unrelated to the first repair, they covered the cost entirely. That kind of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction is almost impossible to find these days. Not only do they have some of the best prices in town, but the team genuinely cares about their customers. They took the time to listen to my frustrations, treated me with kindness, and even gave me a hug before I left. It's rare to find a shop that blends top-notch mechanical work with such compassion and honesty. If you want skilled, trustworthy, and caring professionals to work on your vehicle, Tech Automotive is the place. They've earned a loyal customer for life.

I had a terrible experience at this shop. I went to Chris for a labor only brake job for rear…read morebrakes & rotors (I bought my own parts prior). I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.
