I have very fond memories of this mall because when I used to work on ships, this was where I would come to hang out when docked in Southampton. There was reasonably priced food, wifi, and I could get a little shopping in. This was 15 years ago. Glad to see 15 years later, this mall is still kicking, and they have really built up this area a lot more. They still have a nice mix of stores, although some of their kiosks are gone, like their Whittard's kiosk. The food court wasn't bad, although I did notice a couple places were empty. There is still wifi, although that's less of an issue now. And they still have the M&S, thankfully. If you're going on a cruise, and have some time to kill, I think this mall is a great stop, especially considering there are other things in the area too if you get bored with the mall. There is another mall in the area, but that one is a little more empty, whereas West Quay still seems to have a crowd. read more

The Westquay Shopping Centre is very big. We came here once during our stay in Southampton. We did a bit of shopping, but for the most part we just walked around, window shopped, and people watched. The place was packed with people. Maybe we were all just escaping the rain that day. Westquay was very clean and they had a nice assortment of stores. My wife's favorite store was Marks & Spencer. This large department store had some good deals. My favorite shop was located on the second floor (I believe). Actually, it was more like a large kiosk. One girl was manning the place. It was called Continental Bakery, and the selection of baked goods was fantastic. I ordered a couple of Pastel De Nata which tasted excellent!! Very good price points also! Wish I had bought some other stuff while we were there. Anyways, visiting the Westquay Shopping Centre is a "Must do" when in Southampton. I noticed that there is also a Nando's Restaurant upstairs in the food area which I'll have to go to next time also. read more

Worst experience of my entire life. Having a serious stomach problem and being unwilling to use a restroom that had a man cleaning it (we do not let men clean women's restrooms when women are using them in the US), I was forced to use the baby changing restroom in an emergency. The maintenance team had removed the old roll of toilet paper without replacing it, leaving me trapped and soiled in the bathroom. This man "Matt" from the maintenance team gathered a large crowd outside of the restroom and loudly made fun of me to the laughing crowd before giving me toilet paper. As I left the bathroom he got in front of me and berated and raised his voice at me yelling and laughing in front of the group he gathered that the situation was my fault because I was "not allowed" in the baby changing stall. I attempted to explain my situation and he continued to make fun of me and blame me for the situation while the group had another good laugh. I had to physically push past him and run away. This has ruined my trip and my entire perspective of the UK. His behavior was shocking and humiliating. All women should avoid this mall to avoid having your bathroom habits scrutinized by a man in front of a laughing crowd. read more

West Quay - Shopping Centers Near Me - Southampton, HAM

Large shopping centre in the city centre. Has a large variety of shops from all the normal high street favourites like Mark's and John Lewis to some more unusual shops like Hotel Chocolat and Fat Face which not a lot of other shopping centres have. There is loads of Parking with a car park underneath the building as well as another car park which give access to the centre by walkway. Upstairs at the very top is a food area which has loads of choice, from fast food options such as Mc Donald's and KFC to dine in places like Nandos and Harry Ramsdens. It also has coffee shops and a pizza hut. Toilets are located on P3 (Parking) and the upper food level. There are cashpoints located LS (Lower Shopping) and the food court. The only problem I find with the centre is that some of the lifts and escalators are not placed as well as they could be so if you have a lot of heavy bags to carry back to your car it can be quite a trek! read more

The Westquay shopping centre is bang in the middle of Southampton and offers the full range of shops that you find on any British high street plus a fairly decent food court with the usual fast food and chain restaurants. For such a large place, it is a little galling that you have to pay to park there. read more

West Quay has been around for a good few years now and I think it looks pretty much the same which is good. It is not showing any real signs of wear and tear and is always clean and tidy. I personally try to avoid going in as it is so busy and the entrance from the High Street is so long and as its just a big walkway its easy to get pushed along in the crowd and sometimes miss the shop you were planning to go in. I think there should be more lifts for the volume of people shopping in there and more toilets as it can be a bit of a trek to find one. Overall it is busy and seems crowded a lot of the time but has a good selection of shops. read more

West Quay is the main shopping centre in Southampton. It's reasonably new and still looks quite modern and smart. It has a large John Lewis and Marks & Spencer and a good selection of smaller stores. There is also a food court with a range of fast food outlets and restaurants. The centre is pretty good, the only problem is that it's a nightmare trying to get around it on a Saturday as most of the people of Southampton seem to be in there. At quiter times it's great for getting all your shopping done in one go and the large car parks beneath and behind the centre make it very convenient. read more

Today I went into the new shopping centre with my family to see what all the buzz is about, we went into John Lewis an spent nearly £200 we then went to casa for lunch an spent £64 then into the cinema an spent £28 on tickets an sweets on top of this none of this bothered me until we paid to park !! £10 for parking is not acceptable an for this purely on principal we will not be returning ! read more

This is the mall that is closest to where my boyfriend and I live. Therefore, we tend to go there quite a bit. We have tasted Crepes from two different vendors, one inside and one outside and they were very delicious but messy. I love sushi, so when I first arrived...we went to the food court and tried the sushi (it wasn't that good). We have went to Nando's, which I didn't like the first time around (my boyfriend didn't choose a spicy chicken since it was my first time). However, I gave Nando's a second chance and went for Medium...which was delicious (one of my favorite places now). We have tried fish and chips there, and it was good too! I see that this mall has a lot of clothing shops which the majority of the time, look empty. My boyfriend and I have visited the Apple Shop and I liked how their logo represented their shop (no need to write their name). Overall, I have had a good experience regarding the food shops. read more
