In Denmark, the stores for large women like me tend to think that we want to wear frills and large flowers which I definitely DON'T, so I love my stuff from Bonmarché. Will actually be going to Reading in a few days, and can't wait to visit Bonmarché there! I agree with other reviews here on QYPE - the clothes are generally for the more mature woman (I'm 51) - and a lot of it I didn't like. But that's the kind of shop I like - something for everyone! There was reasonably priced food, wifi, and I could get a little shopping in. This was 15 years ago. Glad to see 15 years later, this mall is still kicking, and they have really built up this area a lot more. They still have a nice mix of stores, although some of their kiosks are gone, like their Whittard's kiosk. The food court wasn't bad, although I did notice a couple places were empty. There is still wifi, although that's less of an issue now. And they still have the M&S, thankfully. If you're going on a cruise, and have some time to kill, I think this mall is a great stop, especially considering there are other things in the area too if you get bored with the mall. There is another mall in the area, but that one is a little more empty, whereas West Quay still seems to have a crowd.

Maybe we were all just escaping the rain that day. Westquay was very clean and they had a nice assortment of stores. My wife's favorite store was Marks & Spencer. This large department store had some good deals. My favorite shop was located on the second floor (I believe). Actually, it was more like a large kiosk. One girl was manning the place. It was called Continental Bakery, and the selection of baked goods was fantastic. I ordered a couple of Pastel De Nata which tasted excellent!! Very good price points also! Wish I had bought some other stuff while we were there. Anyways, visiting the Westquay Shopping Centre is a "Must do" when in Southampton. I noticed that there is also a Nando's Restaurant upstairs in the food area which I'll have to go to next time also.

There is not a huge range here but you should be able to find something smart or casual - prices are quite high though as with all Evans stores. There is a lift for disabled access, otherwise there is an escalator up and stairs down. My experience here is definately take a friend with you to help decide your outfit as staff are minimun and rarely wish to venture on to the shop floor! This is, however, a great place to buy shoes and boots for ladies whos feet are longer than the average i.e size 9 or are wider round the calves for most other boots , as they will fit comfortably.
