I love my kitchen and I've also approached him about a future project. I had a basic 1970's era condo kitchen-outdated but can't really change the footprint. I tried to revive it with refacing. It still didn't function well, but I worked around it. A leak in the wall behind the cabinets, forced an unexpected remodel. I received estimates from several contractors using stock or RTA "IKEA" kitchen cabinets. The cabinets I saw in these stores did not seem as sturdy as my existing cabinets. I couldn't customize and would have similar unusable spaces where the pre-made cabinets are put together. The contractors and pre-made cabinet stores told me custom cabinets would cost twice as much as their estimates. While looking for design ideas, I saw multiple Houzz and Reddit posts stating a local carpenter could give me custom cabinets at a much better price. I am so glad I paid attention to the posts! That's how I found Sacramento Millworks. His price for my project was comparable to the quotes I received for stock cabinets. Raymond is a carpenter and a designer. Because of his experience, he handled everything. He walked me through everything, including a trip to the granite and tile shops. I just picked colors. He was very patient. Most of contractors I've worked with recently send employees to do the work. They just pop in here and there until it's time for payment. Raymond was on site working with one helper everyday. I gave 3…read morestars because of the frustration levels I went through, and how long the work took until completion, but I have to say, Lyndell was pleasant, he had more of an approachable personality, and he legitimately seemed concerned and that made me feel better. I appreciated that. They replaced the damaged boards and installed the broken doors, and painted the chipped door, and aligned doors so all knobs looked symmetrical. Jamie stayed the entire way through as did Lyndell to make sure the work had been completed accordingly. I was pleased with the results, but wish things could have been a lot smoother than they were. If I could go back in time, I would have just chosen another business. Darria, however made the entire transaction worse than it had already been due to her unprofessionalism, yet Lyndell made up for that. I still wouldn't have paid over 12k for the work, but it's over, and that's what matters most.
