They assured me at the office they wouldn't charge me for this. I've been hounded by collection calls since, by oversees agents after finding they billed my insurance and are billing me for poor quality work they didn't even complete! Their office won't call me back and their "billing department" hung up on me. Buyer beware. read more

Brenda was great at Check in and during the draw. I was in at 8:19 and out by 8:30, so 11 minutes total is amazing considering that there was 1 patient before me. The care was great especially on a patient experience perspective because well she was doing the draw. She opened up casual conversation, which kept my mind off the needle, lol. it's hard to get this type of care nowadays! read more

Only use this facility if you have no other choice. The Lab has now been taken over by Lab Corp. on a grading of A-F, I would give them a D-. The waiting room is disgusting, every single chair for patients to sit on are worn through to the fabric backing, the vinyl. There is no way those chairs would be able to be sanitized. RUDE --I left to go to the other lab by hospital but they had a hour or longer wait. So I came back to this place. It seems this place has chased ALL the clients away. They are all packed into the waiting room over at the lab place by Arroyo Grande hospital There's almost nobody here! I cannot believe how rude they are to people. 10 of 10 for this facility and its wonderful staff. I am very much Not a fan of having my blood drawn. Always have been treated kindly here. I let the phlebotomist know that I needed a room where I could lay down, no questions, she said okay. Laid down, asked if she could try my hand first. Couldn't find a good place, she very nicely asked if 8d be okay with one arm try. Got it right in, no issues. I don't know anyone who works here, I'm not related in any way to the company. Not only is the company awful to their employees, but usually the employees are nice enough to patients. Not today. Went in to the pismo location, and a girl with dark curly hair was working. Very rude, arguing with me. I'm not a rude person, I was polite in why I was there and when I directed her to my only good vein. She argued about everything. I won't ever go back. read more

I have been coming here regularly for physician-ordered blood draws. They have been consistently courteous, good humored and professional. I can't remember there ever having been an issue. The place operates like a well-oiled machine. I can't understand the negative reviews. read more

The lady who took my blood was nice and experienced. The front receptionist is very nice with a great sense of humor. But, there is a person in there that needs anger management training. She actually yelled at me for interupting a personal converstion to drop off a sample. Told me that I should appreciate her coming in on a Sat. Told me I had a bad attiude and she should throw my license and medical card at me but because she is so nice, she won't. I am not interested in buying into her drama so I left. Will persue another lab that does value patients. Ran into someone outside that was a patient and she said she has no choice in where she goes for testing and would change if she could. Mary is the absolute best ever! Getting blood drawn has always been my biggest fear, and she makes it quick and easy. They are short staffed just like everyone else, so of course wait times are longer. I will not go to anyone else for bloodwork. read more

I want to say that the phlebotomiss they have here are always professional and for someone who is a hard stick, they find a vein every time, almost always the first time. This excellence deserves 5 stars. The front desk and whomever is answering phones needs training. I can only go to this place for to insurance. I have only had lab work done here for the last 7 years. Fur to health reasons, I'm here fairly regularly. So, when I had surgery scheduled, it was the one place I knew for certain where to get information I needed. When the doctor's office called and related, "The person who answered says there's no record of you ever going there. I think she is a very unhappy person." This is the day before surgery in Orange County, so you can imagine my frustration. I had the office call when I was in the room, because I couldn't believe it. I'm thinking the same unhappy person answered again, even more irritated. She was in speaker, so I got to hear her say, "I told you there was no record." When I said I was there in August, the person somehow found me in the system, although the surgery center already told them that. It took her to begrudgingly say, we have something from August. Exactly what we were looking for. Hmm. Then, she asked for my focus 8 name and said the doctor would need to call and get registered with them here in Pismo Beach or something because her system wouldn't let it fax the results to them because their fax number wasn't in their system. After hemming and hawing and taking the fax number it was miraculously sent. The person was very irritated and rude while doing this, "favor." I would have respected this more of she said she was busy and would get to it or anything rather than lying about everything. There are some life and death situations (thankfully this wasn't one) that happen outside of Pismo Beach and SLO County, if you can believe it. Wondering if she realizes this. read more

I used to like this place for my annual blood draw. To be fair, the staff seems good. Management stinks. Chairs are totally worn out. Walls are filthy. The place is dirty floor to ceiling. Nothing seems clean. Why isn't management painting and making new? Horrible. If you can't keep the physical premise in good shape I question what cleanliness there is in the blood draw. read more

Westpac labs waiting time is ridiculously long. When you call the central number to ask if an appointment is required, the answer is no. However, it is HIGHLY recommended due to the long wait times. They implemented a new computer system yesterday. It has significantly slowed down the process. And orders which were in the old system were lost. After not finding my lab order in the system (which was sent 2 months ago), the computer system upgrade supervisor was so cavalier about the inconvenience to the patients and said to me "at least it will go faster next time". What he didn't seem to understand is that the system upgrade mess up caused both me and my doctor's office to do extra work. And of course I couldn't get an appointment for the next morning. So I waited 1 1/2 hours for my turn after all the people who scheduled appointments days ago. Add that to the time for both my doctor's office and mine yesterday to get the lab order reset and you cost other people about $200 in labor hours. read more

Very understaffed especially when people call out sick. It's too much instability to make even an appointment and count on getting your planned time to be there. I walked out after an hour waiting and never being called. The staff did their best, but still took breaks even with a lobby full. read more

I went into the Pismo Beach Westpac labs this morning... I needed a lot of lab work done. I advised my phlebotomist Mary that I had extremely difficult veins to draw from because of scar tissue.....She was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she extremely pleasant, she was able to get to my vein within a matter of seconds! Which believe me is really no easy task! thanks Mary... You were a pleasure! read more

This is the dirtiest lab I've ever used. Nobody cleans the restroom. I had to take a urine test and there was urine and toilet paper all over the floor. I had to roll up my pants legs to my knees and I refused to sit on the toilet so I just squatted over the toilet. Just plain gross! read more

I would have given them 2 stars if not for my favorite phlebotomist moving there, her name is Linda, from Santa Maria. I give them a 4 because of her and a couple of technicians who were personable with patients. However, there are a couple of the technicians who are not very personable, particularly a girl named Marina, and one of the guys. Marina is very curt and impatient with patients. I also had a bad experience with her before I found Linda in Santa Maria. I am a hard stick because my veins are small and hard to get, but Linda is able to get my vein right away. She is also very friendly and personable and is able to make me take it easy, making the ordeal of blood work not so bad. Unfortunately, Linda moved to Pismo, so now I go there despite the rudeness of some people. They have improved from before; however, ALL technicians should be more personable at ALL TIMES with patients because they are usually sick and about to have an unpleasant experience, especially hard sticks like me, so and they don't need technicians to be rude. If not for Linda I would be lost whenever I have blood work! read more

I was told it is possible to make an appointment to have my blood work done. I was told it must be done on your website. Spent a 1/2 hour trying to make an appointment on your website and could not find an appointment link. Why make it so hard. You need a new webmaster. read more
