I called 3.30pm on a weekday (which their Yelp hours say, they should be open at): I asked if I reached the Powell location; was not given an answer, instead immediately asked for my name/number - makes me afraid I called a wrong number, and reached a scam (no normal employee during biz hours, and they don't even know what state the biz is in)! Would be better if they would just have an old school answering machine... why pay someone, who can't do anything more than a cheap machine from 1995 (including not even able to answer where biz is located)? I gave up and went down the road to Mr. Plywood (they answered their phone during biz hours).

I put out a request for bids to multiple bidders. Lucian was not only the first to respond, but he was the only one who committed to a time to be out and evaluating the site in person. He was right on time, he physically distanced to ensure no stress of COVID, and provided excellent guidance while actively listening to my wants for the fence. Lucian was exceptionally responsive to my questions in person and in email; he provided a timely and well-detailed quote. Two weeks prior, Lucian contacted me to see if I wanted to move up the date; since I'm not going anywhere, absolutely! He showed up - again, right on time with his staff. They started and worked well into the early evening, past what I would've expected on both days. My fence was completed in two days - not only was the fence EXACTLY what I wanted/what was advertised, but the area? Cleaner than it was when the crew started. Lucian is exactly the kind of business owner I want to go out of my way to support. And his crew? Top notch, worked non-stop, and the end result is that my house looks infinitely better with this quality fencing than it could have otherwise.

I got her as a…read more9 month old puppy, and she immediately made short shrift of my entire, 25-year-old (pretty rotted) perimeter fence. Not a small job, and an emergency one, because she LOVED running around the neighbors' yards. Lucian and his Dad braved the elements on extremely short notice, and built an entire new fence (mostly in the rain) for a great price. They gave me lots of upgrades, like unknotted wood, and thicker footers, and were incredibly fast and efficient. Its beautiful. That should have been enough, but - no - then my about six months later my back neighbors got their own Bernadoodle puppy, and the two dogs decided they didn't want a fence, so my pitty figured out how to pound her head against the boards until they bowed, then get her jaws on the wood, and tear through it. Lucian agreed that metal roof panels attached to the back fence would probably work (either that or an electric cattle fence), so he and his son came back out with the panels, cut them to fit, and spent a day attaching them, which - it turns out - is not as easy as it sounds. Again, quick service and excellent value. This family business, NW Modern, is fantastic, and I highly recommend them. And yes - it appears the metal roof panels are working!

I received a good and reasonable quote from Sam/Diligent Construction, and, upon agreeing on price and terms, we sealed the deal. Sam did the demolition of old fence, the installation of the new fence, he painted the fence and he hauled away the old fence. The new fence looks excellent and I am vey happy with my new fence. Apart from the work itself, I want to say that Sam was able to accommodate on-the-go some changes for the fence work, he listened to our questions, provided pertinent answers and reasons for doing the work to the best of our requests. It was a very pleasant experience to work with Sam, and, if that matters, he also has a good sense of humor. He was very honest as to what parts of the job he was comfortable with as well as things that maybe I needed a specialist at. He was able to get a lot done for us very quickly and all the work was done well. I will be working with him as much as possible in the near future. Friendly guy with a great work ethic. He did roofing, painting, carpentry, stucco, concrete repair and many more types of work. Once I showed him what we needed done, he needed no more guidance and just went to work. Such an easy arrangement as prior people kept needing direction or motivation. Josh has a easy demeanor and a very focused attitude. Thanks for helping us get these jobs done and look forward to working together in the future.

Vendor: Cool Cat…read more The Review: The Good and the Bad. Mostly Bad. I give 1 star because Yelp won't allow a lower rating. And also for averaging with the little good: The foreman who worked my project, Fernando, was the only person I spoke to, beginning to end who seemed interested in doing anything other than making a sale (front end) and doing as little as possible (Warranty Team). Fernando was invested in keeping me updated, left a clean worksite each night, was kind to his team. He was a pleasure to work with. The rest of the company seems like a nepo organization, starting with the least knowledgeable and trustworthy sales team I've encountered in years. However, I was in need of a security fence ASAP and ultimately was sold because of the timeline, the quality of the fence itself, 0% APR for financing, and the "warranty." Unfortunately, I found out within one day of the project completion that the Warranty Team would be the worst at Cool Cat yet. Negative Stars: One of the locks was put on backward (meaning someone could unscrew the mounting from the outside). Further, because of the direction and function of the lock, it remained locked on the outside when the inside lock was disengaged. This is a significant fire and safety risk if the only way out of my yard is through that gate or somehow over the 6 foot fence. I contacted Dan the morning after the project closed to apprise them (7/30) and I didn't get a response until 8/3. I got the Warranty Manager's number (Joe) and communicated with him. Artur and some other unfriendly person came on 8/7 to fix. I checked in multiple times and when they were finished, I asked about the multiple drilled holes that were now exposed and tape instead of a cap on one of the rails. He said he didn't have anything to fix it with him today and I asked him to come back and fix it. That was one month ago. My $27k fence has eye sores all over the gate and now with the rain setting in, the exposed metal is showing the beginnings of rust. And I have not heard back from anyone. WORST COMPANY EVER. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
