I had the privilege of working with the owners, Paul and Missy West on a memorial for our sister and they created a piece of art that has swept everyone off their feet. It is not your bland type of monument that they try to sell you at a funeral home; they really captured how special she is and her beautiful life that was cut too short. I know she loves it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and they captured just what I wanted (but better!!) in just a few days. I've never seen a monument company that can do the things that they can do - the flowers carved into her monument look so real, like you could grab one. They put an artistic twist on my ideas that I could have never thought imaginable. I gave them an outline of the things that I wanted and they gave me this graceful monument that stands out from everything else, just like my sister. They were gentle, kind, and so patient with me. I knew I wanted something unique for our monument and most monument companies just churn out one ordinary stone after another and then I found West Memorials. I sketched out what I wanted including the lamb and sent it to Missy. I was nervous on how it would turn out but was so pleased when it arrived. The cemetery installers said it would have been easier to install a real lamb on top but they did it and he looks great and I think will be a comfort to anyone that sees him. The cemetery said there is nothing else like him in the cemetery. A special thank you to Chrissy. When I talked to her I felt like I was probably talking to the sweetest person in Memphis. I searched everywhere for what i wanted on my sons headstone. days and days looking. I then thought i would try here. WHAT A MISTAKE. I told them in emails and phone calls what i wanted. all the text and where to place it. where i wanted pictures and the angel on it. waited and waited and nothing. So i went somewhere else. NOW they are claiming the design i told them is theirs and that they copyrighted my design and want compensation. the Idea, placement hight,of back and base, everything i told them. they did not have Inspiration. i told them everything i wanted and where it was to be. I am not even sure there are words to express my deepest gratitude to Paul and his Team. From design to placement, we were treated with the utmost respect and care. Never once did they let us think our thoughts and opinions were in vain or going unheard and I NEVER felt like it was simply a business transaction, or that we were being taken advantage of. The Team really cared and listened. Every detail was careful thought out and executed. They exceeded our expectation in the cost of this piece and time it would take. Let's get real a minute, quality, custom pieces take time and are not cheap, this is not a stamp and go shop....this is 100% as good as they get in my opinion. You will not be disappointed in anything Paul and his Team creates for you. I honestly feel this memorial waited this long because we had to wait for the right people to create it and boy, I'm so so thankful we did. The process was emotionally difficult, as it took us almost 9 years to finally start the process, but I could not have asked for a more amazing Team to walk us through it. All of the individuals at West Memorials understand the need for perfection and take the time to insure that your final product is a lasting memorial for your loved one. During the pandemic much changed, in the aftermath life for all shifted; Missy West her husband and every member of staff took the situations at hand and utilized them to build better communication with their customers and offered the highest levels of both personal and professional efficiency. Through phone conversations and emails the process was seemingly effortless but the final product displays that a common thread missing in our society was present; the ability to listen to the voice and hearts of the customer. By hearing the needs and desires of a family and blending it with their years of knowledge in the monument industry; the choices that will be a standing reminder of a life are achieved. In my case, beyond expectations and it was beautiful to see the monument as pictured in my mind placed at the cemetery for all that loved him to see as well. In life we travel many roads that are not taken by choice. A number of years ago my six-year-old son died and I quickly realized how vulnerable we were in making very important decisions during a time that makes making very important decisions feel impossible. I knew that the design and creation of his cemetery marker was something I really cared a lot about and would need help with. What I found was a lot of "cookie cutter" grave marker companies. After exhausting as many options as I could find in our home state of California, I went looking on the internet for someone with experience, excellence, a heart and an eye for design. Eventually I found that in West Memorials. I remember getting off the first phone call with Paul West and crying at the experience of his authentic care. While I wanted to ask him about stone choices and shipping times, he wanted to know about my son. He of course gave me the details I was looking for, but just as important, he and his team gave me authentic compassion AND an absolutely gorgeous memorial to mark our son's grave. The end product was identical to what we had designed with them. Since that time, we have purchased another marker from West Memorials for another family member and by our recommendation, my best friend's family commissioned a memorial from them when he passed. They have mentioned multiple times to me how thankful they were for the West's excellent work and the care they received during the process. Recently someone commented to me again about how beautiful our son's marker is and I remembered how glad I am to have found West Memorials at a time we really needed someone to care about what mattered to us. Nothing but heartache and misery and preying on emotions but always with some stupid excuse as to why when they promised a headstone in a matter of weeks, you are still waiting months and months and then when it arrives, the are uncaring and rude. No follow up after install, and if it weren't for the two nice delivery men, I would have just told them to shove the headstone and sued for my money back, DON"T GO HERE! You have been warned. I have been waiting a long time to try and get over the emotional part of how bad I was treated, but even though time has passed, I am still furious with the unprofessional asswipes I dealt with.... but again, if anyone wants to hire the two professional installers, they were the only good thing in this whole situation. read more

What a complete joke this place is....they out source everything to China, they don't pay attention to detail and send out memorials with zero instructions and zero follow up help. When you call them out on it they get defensive. DO NOT USE WEST MEMORIALS!!!!! Absolutely worse group of people to work with. Its all about churn with them, get you in get you out....the Kmart of memorials, cheap, lack of caring, get your money....never to be heard from again. Paul West is a complete jerk, he didn't even have a dowel drilled into the base to attach the cross to, when I called them on it they literally told me to use super glue....they could care less about you or your loved one, they just get your money, then you are left high and dry on your own. UPDATE: My brother recently purchased a new grave marker for my father who recently passed away, unbeknownst to me, he used West Memorials. My brother paid over $5000.00 dollars to have this new monument made. When he received it, it was chipped and damaged. The shipment was then refused. When Paul West put two and two together and realized he was dealing with the same family we had purchased a cross for my mother, he then threatened not to work with us any longer and keep the money unless I removed my Yelp review for the original cross. I refused, because unlike Paul West, I am a principled person who will not cave to threats. This man is the sleaziest business person around. What kind of low life holds a cross hostage after it has already been paid for? Who does something like that? This is sleaze in its purest form folks. Count on nothing but heartache from these people, they are the lowest form of life on the planet. My Yelp review stands, and now it appears I will have to take Mr. West to court to either have him deliver the repaired cross or refund our money, what a despicable person Paul West is...the ultimate sleaze. I will now have to report him to the Better Business Bureau just like I did with the original cross, additionally, I will now be forced to pursue legal action against West Memorials. West Memorials is the absolute best in the business. I've had not one excellent experience with West, BUT TWO! I dealt directly with Missy and Paul West a few years ago when my father wanted to have his monument designed. Hands down it is the best looking monument I have ever seen. Other monument companies quoted this particular design out at anywhere from $38,000-$47,000...and West Memorial came in just under $30,000. Missy West kept in regular contact with me and sent me pictures as the monument was being built. When it was time to be installed they sent 2 of their best guys on a monster crane truck. Both of my parents were there to inspect the monument for ANY flaws, scratches, dings or whatever. My dad was a perfectionist so if he saw the slightest flaw he'd let you know about it. But not one, NOT ONE flaw did he find. And they had an absolute blast with the installers...they were just the nicest guys and complete professionals. The finished product was unbelievable. The attention to detail was second to none. I was amazed on how Missy West took my scratch drawing and made it into something so gorgeous. I can't tell you how many compliments my family has received since it was installed 3 years ago. That all said my wife recently passed away. She was from Chicago so I had her buried in a very large cemetery that had VERY strict rules about grave markers. No head stones were allowed. I purchased the best of the best plots directly next to the newly opened Pope John Paul II shrine...nothing but the best for my wife. Since I purchased the top package, part of the deal was I received one of their flat grave markers free. Not a bad deal, but it wouldn't have been the best so I called West Memorials. I found out that Maryhill Cemetery does not install grave markers after the first frost, so getting the grave marker turned around quick was of the utmost importance to me. I'm not going to lie, I called around to several companies that specialized in grave markers and I did find a place or two that 'promised' about a week faster delivery than West Memorials was able to turn around...but that was without knowing the details of what I wanted and that I wanted the best. All of those other companies that I spoke with were nice, but they didn't seem to have any vision. Due to my experience with Missy West I decided to chance getting the grave marker not being delivered before the first frost. BEST DECISION I COULD HAVE MADE! Like my dad, I'm very detailed. My wife had been very sick for a really long time so in my head I already knew what I wanted the grave markers to look like. I gave my rendering to Missy West and she worked her magic. Now I had shown friends and family 'my rendering' and they thought it was incredible...but what Missy did took it to a whole different level. The detail was outstanding! The creativity was above and beyond (which is very difficult for someone to do in her business... when someone like me sends her a very specific drawing to recreate, she has to be respectful to stay within my initial idea, but she always finds a way to make it look so much better). Bottom line, West Memorial delivered big time. Both my grave marker and my wife's grave marker turned out fantastic. Missy sent me pictures as the project progressed... I was impressed with the photos she sent me but those did no justice to the finished project. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND WEST MEMORIAL - hands down best in the business. Thanks Missy. Thanks Paul... you did a wonderful job! PS - after losing my wife I had a lot of affairs to deal with, so sometimes you overlook some of the details. I can't believe I did this but in my rendering I sent Missy I forgot to put a cross on the grave marker! What a huge mistake on my end! I was just so focused on making my wife's marker special, and meaningful I forgot. Well Missy West called Maryhill Cemetery and ran the design through them without me knowing or asking. As it turns out if Missy didn't do that and they just made what I wanted them to make (like every other monument company probably would have) Maryhill Cemetery would have REFUSED both of my markers. Which means I would have had to have them remade...would have been costly and would have meant they wouldn't be installed until late spring. So thanks again Missy. If anyone says they don't have good customer service there, they're crazy! read more

While some of their work may be good what we received took an unreasonable amount of time and the artists conception of what they advertise was not near the same quality of workmanship as what we thought we were getting. Unfortunately due to the cost of the memorial we will not be able to replace our loved ones stone. They were unwilling to make any adjustments and that was end of it. Every time I visit I will have such a poor feeling about what we memorialized our loved one with!. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

Even though we met under bad circumstances, my daddy's death, they made me enjoy the preparation of my daddy's monument. No matter how many times I called or emailed, they never acted like I was bothering them and were more than willing to answer questions or listen to my ideas.
