She is a very smart girl. A Princess that is! She had no issues until going into 1st grade Mrs. McCormick yelled one to many times for my daughter that doesn't get yelled at home. She began crying when it was time to go to school and not wanting to go. I would still give this school a 5 star because everyone else that made my daughter comfortable. Back in November, 2014 me and my wife were looking to enroll her in a private dental academy in the…read morePhoenix area after first trying to earn a dental assisting certificate through the Rio Salado Community College system from 2013-2014. Well, Rio was a joke due to all the expensive pre-requisite classes required, the excessive book fees, the lack of hands-on training and the endless time it took. On top of that, they postponed any dental classes for an entire semester. We finally gave up and met with the Altrain rep who, upon my request, provided the contact info of several former students and dental offices that had experience with Altrain. I followed up with some of those references and heard nothing but favorable reviews. That prompted me to sign my wife up for the program in December, 2014. Well, as of today (2/28/15), she only has 2 weeks left in the training program. She has learned alot with all the hands-on training Altrain provides. Altrain even arranged an externship with a dental office less than one mile from our home. My wife started yesterday. Hopefully, if things work out, she will get a job offer at the end of the externship. I recommend Altrain to anyone who wants to get into the dental assisting field. They have a quality program.

My experience here with the dental assisting program was far from great. I do want to point out…read morethat this was no fault of my instructor. The content of the course did not prepare me for my state exams and I had to do the majority of my studying through my own methods as I was provided with an insufficient amount of study materials. Additionally, many parts of the course that were promised to me were completely absent from my experience, such as the opportunity to work with children and get my certification to do so. This part of my course was skipped entirely. The only exam that was paid for after my graduation was my radiology exam, which was especially frustrating because part of my tuition that I paid out of pocket for was both exams, radiology and coronal polish. After graduation, communication with the people in the office basically stopped entirely unless I would drive there in person, which is very inconvenient as I live 40 minutes away from the main campus. The resume that was made for me at the end of the year didn't even have the correct graduation date and was off by 2 years! Overall extremely unsatisfied with my experience at this school.

My daughter loved the teacher and school before and still does. I have never had issues with teachers or staff. The front office is always kind and helpful. The teacher made it a point to MESSAGED ME AND INFORM ME OF OTHER THINGS but not mention what was MOST IMPORTANT. NOT ONLY did these terrible incidents happen but my son had been here in this school for 6 months & his main teacher still DID NOT know his name but would address him as someone else . FINALLY each time I would address my issues of concern the teacher and both principal and assistant principal were VERY CALLOUS . NO apology NO concern NO EMPATHY ... NOTHING !! Not to MENTION ALL INCIDENTS THIS SCHOOL IS VERY PREJUDICE!!!!!!
