Though I didn't get a chance to look at nearly everything in the store, I think the prices were pretty fair and reasonable over all from what I did see. They have an abundance of men's and women's sports clothing selections from all the famous name brands (Nike, adidas, UA, and so much more)! I was impressed with their camping and fishing area, along with the shooting and archery section. On the other end from this section, Academy sports offers a large area of personal fitness machines, bikes, and other gear and accessories to help people keep in shape. The store itself is well managed, clean and impressively organized for a facility so large that offers so much! I got what I needed on this day. The service provided to me was pretty stellar overall. Undoubtably I'll be back! Hobbies help keep the sports store machine running! And with the decent (and sometimes excellent) prices on various sports items, it's pretty clear why Academy Sports is so popular in JAX! Take a visit here! And if you need a YETI mug, this is the place to get the best ones! After all, nothing beats having our favorite coffee from the best coffee mug company in the business! I know I'll be adding to my collection! LOL Recommend: HIGH!

I avoid them whenever I can Until they straighten out operational mgmt.

We stayed downstairs over my the shoes. They had alot of the Adidases and Nikes out and they look really nice, but alot of the other brands were kept in their warehouse and you must use the kiosk to request them to be brought out to try on. Once he did that I thought it would take awhile for them to go get them and hand them over, but it was maybe 5 mins or so and they were very polite about it. He tried two pair on and chose the pair that closely matched his uniform. He gave the other pair back and we took the other to the cashier, nothing to note about purchasing them, just fast and polite. Seems fine to me.

Here in JAX there are two totally awesome hard core rugged apparel stores with clothing that lasts…read moreand looks great as well! One is Duluth Trading Company and the other is 5.11 Tactical. I've been wearing clothing from both over the last 4-5 years in shirts and trousers and just find them to be the best for my daily casual wear. 5.11 Tactical offers great looking clothing that fits the needs of law enforcement, first responders, and perhaps in some cases, military personnel. I find their pants and shirts comfortable, with stretch material that gives breathing room as you wear them. I especially like the various types of trousers they offer as they have multiple pocket sets (in some cases even pockets within pockets) because it gives me the space to put some small camera gear when I'm out on YouTube video shoots or doing photography for myself or my channel. Now, you won't find suits for church here but I will say their pants and shirts are certainly good enough to wear when you attend church! It's my type of wear weekly. As for value, note that 5.11 is a specialty store, which means you will pay oftentimes above what you may expect. This shop does not offer military discounts, BUT I will say that you can find great deals when they have clearance sales. I left with a bundle during my visit. Also, if you are military, you can get 5.11 Tactical apparel at the Navy Exchanges at 20 percent off or on special occasions at 40 percent off. That is to say, there are still good ways to get deals on 5.11 clothing - it's how I purchase all of mine. In addition to shirts, trousers, and shorts, you can find excellent boots and reinforced shoes designed for law enforcement and first responders here. I'd like to get a pair for trail walking - I may do that soon! The service from the employees here on this day was excellent! They took time to answer all my questions and really believe in the product they sell. So stop by 5.11 Tactical and see what you think! Hard to believe if you can't find something you like here! Recommend: VERY HIGH (even though a little pricey, but still very much worth it!)

Came here to get my reel spooled since they're kind enough to do it for free IF they aren't busy with other customers whereas lots of their competitors (like Strike Zone spoil your rod up for freaking 12 cents/yard. Multiply that by your reels capacity. West Marine does a great job of it too. I've been in here a bunch of times and the staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable. But this time, I had Quinn help me out with spooling my rod. He's not like the other helpful employees.. He's above and beyond that. Very personable, helpful, fun to chat and swap fish "battle" stories with. Only dealt with him for about 5 minutes but he's an awesome dude and is a great addition to the fishing community. My reel looks fantastic btw! Quinn if you see this- thanks again man! TL;DR - these guys at West Marine skillfully spool up your line and rod for FREE if they aren't busy with other customers.. unlike their competitors, some of which charge 12 cents per yard- multiply that by a few hundred yards or whatever your rods capacity is.. they are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable as well. Ps- ask for Quinn to help you out with your fishing needs. He's a chill and knowledgeable guy.
