I have bought basically a full bag of clubs from Edwin Watts over the years and have always had great service. I went in to the Jacksonville location on Phillips Highway and got all of my clubs re-gripped. I talked with the employee about getting mid size grips on my driver and two hybrids and standard on all of my irons/wedges. All of my clubs came back with mid size grips and because the employee rang it up as all mid size grips and that's what it shows on my account they would not replace them when I came back in. It is extremely unfortunate they would not re-grip my clubs correctly and I would not recommend going to this store for re-gripping. I am now out $230 and have medium size hands so I need to get them all re-gripped again. read more

The first time I ever walked into this store, I was a bit apprehensive, mainly because I was new to the area and a bit shy. When I went in I was looking for clothing to golf. Billy ( not sure if he is the owner or not) was so helpful! He wanted me to try everything on... we had fun and I did a little fashion show! lol. He was honest and told me no when he should have and yes when he thought it was a good fit/look. Since then, I have had lessons with Don! Great guy! Actually everyone there is so personable and so friendly and helpful! They make you feel like you are one of their personal friends! They make you feel like VIP! So, I began taking lessons from Don and today I actually went in and bought a new driver and while at it... I truly ended up getting another lesson from Don because while I was hitting with new clubs... if I miss hit or something didn't feel right, Don was able to figure out why and tweak my swing. Not only did I walk out of there today with a new club, but also with a new outfit, new balls, and a few other gadgets! For amazing prices! This store feels like home! No hope for customer service. Couldn't blow off a putter grip and also couldn't tip a driver shaft while I waited. Not a real golf shop and would not recommend to a person wanting to modify there golf equipment. read more

Pat Floyd took care of me - a would-be novice golfer in first class fashion. Knowing prematurely I had a limited budget and minuscule knowledge of the game as a whole, Pat went to work fitting me and (patiently) exhausting his knowledge and tips on improving my driving game and beginning to build out a well-fitted used set. Online shopping has changed the landscape but thankfully we still have Edwin Watts and one other retailer in town to make that hands on experience available for golf equipment, accessories, shoes, and apparel. Well laid out showroom of clubs, apparel, and accessories. Full service operation with minor club repair as well as hitting bays for lessons and trying out clubs. In search of a particular golf bag color combination, Edwin Watts came thru and held it for me - since it was the last one. Friendly service they even price matched an online retailer saving me a few bucks which is always good. It never hurts to ask since all they can do is say no. read more

What a great staff they have @ their Phillips Hwy location.....even with the building hot as hell due to their A/C units being broken (4 of 5) they are doing everything possible to service customers like myself who was in to today - temp in store was almost 80 degrees......can't believe they are not allowed to wear shorts in a situation like this!!!! It's FLORIDA for crying out loud - hot this time of the year down here for whoever is listening from their A/C office @ HQ in California. Do the right thing by your employees and give them some much needed relief until the A/C problem is fixed. It's going to be 90+ here next week Wonder what would be happening if their offices were temped out @ 80 degrees......I bet they would be grateful and more productive if you did the right thing......just my $.02 - I've been in the golf biz for 25+ years and know your employees would be grateful for the much needed relief - LET THEM WEAR SHORTS!!!!!!!! read more

5 stars for service & quality! This family-run golf shop prides itself on customer service and great value. You get large department store product with small shop individualized hospitality and attention. The manager, Tom, puts his heart and soul into this place and can usually be found working the front lines with his employees. When you walk in, there's a station with coffee and water to enjoy while you browse, a putting green to test new putters, and a hitting bay to try out different clubs and see which ones are a good fit for you. This place has picked up on customer service lately. It used to be that you would walk in here and people would act like you were a bother to them. Honest review would be 0 stars if I could. 6 employees standing behind the counter talking and joking. 3-5 people in the whole store. Couldn't get one person to assist in the bay. One guy even told an employee I was looking for help and his response was "I'm off the clock." The guy asked if he would get someone to help me and the employee said in a low voice "can someone come help him" and continued helping the guy's wife that was trying to get me assistance. Went in with full intention on purchasing a new driver. I couldn't get help in the bay or at the counter. Told the guy I was going to grab my trade-ins for the driver, walked back in 30 seconds later and no one was to be found at the counter. I've spent a TON of money at this store and sent a bunch of people here to buy anything golf related. Sorry for bothering you today. First of all, the staff at this store is both friendly and professional; someone is always available to answer questions and discuss your personal golf needs....you will be greeted and approached if you need help, but they are not overbearing. Secondly, the 90 day return policy is incredible! I've used it numerous times and there was never any resistance by staff when I brought a club back and traded it in for another of equal value. I drive close to an hour to get to this store and every minute is worth it. My current and previous set of clubs were purchased at this store, and my next set will be as well! read more

I recently purchased a set of Titleist Irons from Edwin Watts and the individual work was working at the time did not fit me for them so I brought them back and talked to the owner Tom and he refitted me, sent the irons back to Titleist. When I went to pick them up he gave me a tour Titleist golf bag for the inconvenience, Tom also offered to refit me and give me a WHOLE NEW SET!
