Southwest scramble
Alexandra O.

This place is truly such a gem... I've been a few times with family and have had a fantastic experience each and every time! First, the food is fantastic. This is one of the best places to get breakfast/brunch fare in the Corridor. My favorites are the flavorful scrambles and the decadent brioche French toast! Second, the coffee drinks are delicious. The strength of the espresso is perfect and the "fancy" drinks have just the right amount of sweetness. Third, the atmosphere! The diner itself is very home-y and cozy with a great "neighborhood gathering place" feel. Friendly staff and locals make this place's energy just plain fun! Fourth, the shop! Wow, what they have done with the surrounding area of the diner is truly exemplary! I love visiting the adorable little stand-alone shops after my meal! It's so great to see so many locally-owned retail spaces in one place!

Food was great and came out in a timely manner, service was great as well. kind older lady said to me "Wow! you ate you're waffles quickly, you sure must have been hungry" and I said " Yes ma'am I was and the waffles were good". ambiance of the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. I really enjoyed my strawberry waffles.

Classic burrito.

Legit probably the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! I got the classic burrito. The lady working while I visited was super sweet and attentive!

Breakfast Burrito served with cornbread and honey. With a Screwdriver drink.

I went to checkout West End (a Marion Cafe/breakfast spot) for breakfast. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito served with cornbread and honey, along with a Screwdriver drink to start the morning off. The service was exceptional and the staff was so kind and friendly. I really liked their variety of unique breakfast dishes. I also really loved the decor and serene atmosphere inside as well. The restaurant was very clean also. I will definitely return!! What a neat place!!

Excellent drinks and breakfast burritos! If you're looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch with a turtle latte to hit the spot, you've come to the right place! Service is friendly and the ambiance is casual but fun

French toast

Overall loved West End. You walk in and order at the counter. The water and drip coffee are self serve. The outside patio is dog friendly. The french toast was fabulous. Also highly recommend the yogurt parfait.

The food was great, really like the Shipwreck. I recommend building your own plus it's your own…read moreshipwreck(lol)! I was not ready for the biggest hot cake I ever eaten and it was cook very nice. Hats off to the three cooks who were cranking out the orders. The place was busy but the wait time to sit and get my food was worth the wait. I would come back again to wait in line for the food.. Great place to stop by if you're driving through Cedar Rapids. The place is very nice inside, a little cramp but who cares the food was great.

Traveling through Cedar Rapids, we stopped at The Breakfast House for a quick bite before heading…read moreout of town. Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, it was easy to miss from the outside, but inside it had all the charm of a classic hometown diner. Since it was early on a Friday morning, we were seated right away with no wait. Our server was cheerful, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The menu had all the diner staples you would expect, and we decided to kick things off by sharing a cinnamon roll. It came out warm with a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. A solid start to the day. I went with the Corned Beef Hash combo, which came with two eggs, hashbrowns, and the option to substitute toast for a pancake for $1.99. Easy choice. I don't drink coffee, so Diet Pepsi was my morning fuel. Yep, it is another Pepsi establishment. My vegetarian sidekick ordered a veggie omelet without onions, but when the food arrived, hot and fresh, she discovered onions had snuck in. It was no big deal. They were very apologetic and had a corrected version out quickly. We shared my pancake while we waited, which kept everyone happy. All in all, this spot delivered exactly what we needed. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and breakfast classics done right. It is a nice little gem if you are passing through or just looking for a relaxed morning bite.

We had a Denver omelet with hash browns cooked to perfection and toast. We also had biscuits and gravy with fruit. Who knew there were some many ways to have biscuits and gravy! The staff was friendly and attentive after I was seated. The ambiance was like that of a classic diner, which I am very fond of. Now for the food. I had the Berries and Cream Cheese French toast with a side of eggs over easy and bacon. The French toast with the cream cheese by itself was great. The homemade blueberry sauce took it to the next level. The bacon was just how i like mine cooked. Crispy yet chewy and the eggs were perfect. I decided to go back for lunch and ordered the Hot Beef open faced dinner on sourdough. It had been years since I'd feasted on one and this did not disappoint. It was a healthy portion which carried me over to dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the staff I interacted with. Tiffany, the owner. Amanda who took my order for lunch. Natasha for seating me and who kept checking on me as i dined for breakfast. And my server for breakfast who I forgot her name. She was equally as friendly and provided excellent service. I go home to Austin, having two wonderful meals and the pleasure of dining in such a quaint restaurant.
