I've paid between $10 and $30 for admission. It's a great space with 2 bars for your convenience. Great beer selections. Not a lot of seating because it is a primary live music venue. Mostly everyone stands.(dances). The bathrooms are clean. There is a coat check as soon as you arrive in the door for $3.00. There are posters on the walls of many of the performers who have graced the pyramid. Parking is on the street.

It's hard to describe and it is a bit like being absorbed into a secret cult, except it's only secret because it's in the woods in Manitoba, and it's not a cult it's just a magic weekend at a campground full of friendly, diverse families loving music. There are no corporate sponsors or brands, all the food is local, and all the presenters and organizers seem wildly earnest. There are workshops all day where the musicians in the fest are brought together to jam and tell stories around different themes (my favourite.) And then big shows at the main stage each night with thousands of people sitting and listening carefully, and thousands more dancing politely on the side to not block the view. The other thing you should know is that there is the festival proper, which consists of a main stage and about 6 other smaller stages set throughout the woods around the Birds Hill Provincial park, easy walking distances between them, to which you can purchase a day or full weekend pass and see everyone from Feist and the Shins to Bruce Cockburn and Daniel Lanois (and that was all just this past weekend, plus hundreds more.) There are taverns with local beer on tap and all kinds of food vendors from local Winnipeg restaurants. And then outside of the festival grounds there are the festival camping grounds, and this is almost like another festival entirely. Tent cities tucked between trees and stretching across fields, every imaginable kind of hippy van and RV, homemade teepees and Buckminster Fuller geodesic domes and yurts, a whole popup music venue and bar in a tent slinging whiskey and the tent walls shaking till the early morning hours with insane bands and crowds pushed up against them signing along. There is an endless mushroom-fueled drum circle on Pope's Hill watching for Aurora Borealis, and every fifteen steps there is another campfire, with a group of new friends of all ages, curled around a couple guitars, ukes, banjos, mandos, a standup bass, even a full drum kit at one campsite, drawing you in to singalong as you pass by. There is a dress up tent, and a trading post, and the most delicious pizza oven on wheels... and so much more. I'm super thankful to have been indoctrinated into this weird special extended loving love-in. Much love and gratitude to the organizers and the endless streams of smiling volunteers. Can't wait to go back.

There is a room downstairs for $75 and the theater for $400 and you need an union member if you want to use the stage the stage. These were also the prices in 2008. We got to use the dressing rooms, they set up all the chairs for us, and they let us have the run of the place for pictures (accept the stage). We had an issue with our party venue and almost couldn't get into it because the weekend manager died and the Pantages staff was ready to rally together and throw us a reception. They were so wonderful I can't even begin to touch on it. If you are looking for a fantastic alternative venue for any sort of event I recommend this place!! For most people in Manitoba the drink of choices are Beer, Wine and Highballs(Alcoholic beverage + Non-alcoholic beverage, eg. Rye&Coke, Vodka&lime etc). So if you ask for a Cosmo or Martini make sure you can tell Mario (the bartender/owner ) how to make it. Saves money by not having to hire anyone that knows every drink under the sun. They also serve some mean wings for 35 cents on Mondays, now don't quote me on that I haven't been there for a Monday for a year now. the food is great, now unlike other Billiards that I've been to they have a better menu. When I went up to order the bar was staffed by an older man, maybe one of the owners? He didn't know what a cosmopolitan was, but poured a decent gin and tonic. Bonus points for asking if I wanted it tall or short. My friends ordered a pizza, which I tried. It was pretty good. I didn't stay for too long (other engagements) and it sounds like things picked up a lot there after I left. I'd go back - it seems like a pretty safe, chill place to spend an evening playing pool.

It's an intimate theatre that offers up interesting yet comfy seats that slides forward for a more comfortable seat but slides back for a more upright seat (or when someone wants to squeeze by and you can just slide back and let then through). The lobby sells alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that you can even bring inside to the theatre! How awesome is that! The MTC doesn't let you do that for sure. And everyone is responsible enough to throw out their garbage so another plus for this theatre. The crowd depends on the type of show you will see but for the most part this place leans more to the 20-39 artist/hipster crowd. It's a laid back and fun scene. On a side note, the washrooms are pretty clean here.
