What more can I say. If I could give a negative review I would. I took my car in to the 2524…read moreGuardian Road location on January 2, 23 & paid for a full synthetic oil change (the Ultra) costing me almost $160. my car had just over 92,000 km. The tech did the change, showed me clean oil on the dipstick & asked me to reset my car's oil life to 100%. the service sticker suggested coming back for another change, Jul 2, 23 at just over 102,000k. On Jan 3, 23 I was showing my daughter how to check oil & when I pulled out the dipstick the oil looked extremely black and thick. I was concerned & because the receipt had a 7 days warranty, I called the shop. The person answering said it is normal for the oil to be dark after a change because a few drops of old oil left will tint the new oil. I was somewhat satisfied with the response but over the next week I continued to be concerned because the oil wasn't just dark, it was thick and didn't look right on the dipstick. I called several times in Jan 2023 and was getting irritated with having to tell the same story and the techs just kept saying that I should have gotten an engine flush. Then with my calls it turned in to me being outside the 7 day warranty and I should have gotten an engine flush. I began to just give up and hope the techs were right but by about the end of feb 2023 the check engine light began coming on & this was really concerning because I can't afford to pay for engine issues. By the end of March 2023 my check engine light was staying on and my car was not working well, stalling at intersections & just sounded like it was struggling to even run. I was constantly checking the oil and it was now in what looked like beads on the dipstick. I reached out to a friend who had a shop & when I brought my car in they found a code and one of the reasons for the issue was sludge in the engine due to " "lack of oil changes" .the mechanics changed the oil and filter. They were shocked at the smell of the oil, the condition of the oil and filter, saying there was NO way a full synthetic oil and filter change was done the beginning of Jan 2023. In fact, they said the condition of the oil was worse than they have seen in the heavy equipment they service. They said the engine was struggling because the oil was so sludgey it wasn't moving through the engine like it should & my engine would never have made it til July 2023 for the next jiffy lube suggested service, in fact it is likely that it would have seized within the next couple weeks. I reached out to Jiffy lube & left a message retelling the story and what my friends shop had found. There was NO response so I called Jiffylube and again had to retell the story and asked to speak to the manager or get the contact for the franchise owner. I was told that they manager wasn't available. I was so upset, I told them I wanted to talk to someone now I would be filing complaints with BBB and whomever else I needed to. Suddenly the manager was available. I had to again retell the story as the manager said he knew nothing of this issue. He said he would speak with the district manager, look for the video of the date of the change and call me back. On April 3 the jiffy lube manager called me, saying said they couldn't find the video from the pit for the day of my oil change but he spoke with the district manager and they would reimburse for the initial oil change plus the cost of the second one but only if I provided proof in the form of letters from the owner/mechanics and pictures. I also said that I would be having the engine checked & would be wanting them to reimburse for any damages that may have occurred as a result of the Jiffylube "lack of servicing". on April 17, the req info was emailed to Jiffylube & the manager called the owner of the shop doing my second oil change & they talked about my situation and how jiffylube planned to remedy what had happened to me. Despite asking for all correspondence in writing, the franchise owner called me and left a msg for a c/b. I responded to this call by sending an email telling them I needed things in writing and to please send me what the resolution would be and I never heard anything. I emailed again on I believe two more occasions and giving a time Frame for resolving things (as he had discussed with the second shop owner) and to date I have not even received a response. I am questioning if this is because I am a woman and being taken less seriously than if it was a man addressing an issue? IDK but needless to say, Jiffylube said they would fix what they messed up and then ghosted me. Now I have a car with engine problems and I am going to my friends garage to get an assessment of the engine.

Although I've seen my dad do oil changes in his life time, I am by no means handy. I'm lucky to…read morehave a Jiffy Lube nearby where I can take my vehicle in to do a quick oil change in the comfort of a heated area rather than me slide under my dirty garage risking oil spill out all over my face. The upside to Jiffy Lube is that you're paying for the convenience and comfort. An oil filter and some jugs of oil would set you back about thirty to forty dollars if you were to go out and purchase it yourself. Then of course is draining the oil and replacing the filter. Usually it takes my dad and I about anywhere from 30 mins to 40 mins to do this since we rely on the powers of gravity to drain the oil. Jiffy Lube charges from 59.99 to about 109.99 based on the type of oil you use. They also do the job a fraction of the time and they also check other fluids and parts of your vehicle while you wait in your car. That's right. You pull up to the bay and never have to get out. You are literally in and out within 10 to 15 minutes. My most recent experience was quite alarming though. Owning a car requires maintenance and you have to put the money out to ensure that it runs for a long time. The last time I was in Jiffy Lube they recommended I do a transmission fluid flush. At the time, I had a "guy" who could do these jobs for me inexpensively. So I opted to not do the flush at Jiffy and decided to book an appointment with my "guy". Around the same time, I also had a coolant leak (hence my review of buying the hose from Acura previously) so I replaced my coolant hose as well as gave it fresh coolant. Since Jiffy Lube records all of my visits, the technician notes that I previously declined a transmission fluid flush and upon checking I should replace it. The same applied to my coolant as well. These technicians were not aware of the replacement fluids I had done in the summer and now under their "inspection" they are recommending me do these extra jobs offered by them. I believe that's a little shady of them to try to upsell their services. I believe they are under the impression I am clueless when it comes to car maintenance and I need to take their word for these recommendations without question. I told them I'd think about it and simply paid for my oil change and drove out. TL;DR: Fast oil changes. Beware of service techs upselling you things you don't need. Do research!

I can't tell you how grateful I am that they spotted this! They then helped me pick a new set of front tires and I will be back on Monday to have them installed as they need to bring them in. Regular oil change, told the guy he did not need to check the air filter, so he didn't bother to check any of the other fluids. While oil was being changed, a young man attempted to clean my perfectly clean windshield with dirty looking spong and sqeegy. I had just come from Bubbles next door. After oil was changed and another guy shut the hood, he took it upon himself to wipe down the front and left side panels, the front of the hood with an oily rag. I left to go have lunch and when I got out of my truck, all I saw was oil streakes along the front panels and hood. I called Mr. Lube and asked for the Manger. I explained what had happened and his reply was "we always wipe down the front cause we touch it" I Said, yes I understand that but not with a f'ing oily rag. He tried to tell me that the rag was clean. Instead of owning up to their stupidity, he tried telling me his guys did not do that. Like I said, I've been going their for years I know the Manger, Mr. Patel, we both had Honda Accords at one time and we got to talking. Anyways, Mr. Patel, you have lost my buisness, I know good working people with brains are hard to find, but geez you need to do better, be better Mr. Lube!
