    I truly love the look of West Elm and everything in this store matches my style. when I walk in the store and look at the catalog, I just want to buy everything. I own a table from West Elm that I purchased in 2019. it holds up and I love it. but recently I bought extremely expensive: - Christmas decorations - dishes - flatware and I literally feel SCAMMED. not dissatisfied, but SCAMMED. how can someone with taste sell me something that is so cheap and low quality for such a high price? West Elm needs to turn around. e.g. here are my extremely expensive flatware that: 1. say "China" on them (classy right?) 2. start chipping after just a moth of use even though they say dishwasher save. one look at this flatware, and one cycle through the dishwasher, should cause these folks to say 'we're too good to sell this' but instead, for their short-term (CERTAINLY, not long term) profit, they sell it to us to scam us. I'll never buy anything from West Elm again, given my recent experiences. better off going to Ikea to look for some new flatware. worse, they don't even allow you to email them about issues with your products. https://www.westelm.com/customer-service/email-us/?cm_type=lnav

    Title: Worst Retail Experience of My Life - West Elm Is an Absolute Disaster I spent $9,539.80 at West Elm on June 7, 2025, and what followed has been an absolute nightmare. From the beginning, the incompetence was staggering. The sales associate made critical errors, including entering the wrong email address and wrong shipping address. I was also overcharged compared to the price displayed in-store. These are basic mistakes that no reputable company should make. Then came the delivery disaster. The furniture arrived well before the expected delivery date--without any notice--and was sent to a house I hadn't even moved into yet. I only found out because the previous homeowner contacted me saying they received my items. No call, no email, no tracking--nothing from West Elm. But that was just the start of the chaos. The coffee table arrived broken, and the sofa is defective and uneven. I reported the sofa issue on July 3. It's now July 25, and I've received zero response. Absolutely unacceptable. As for the broken coffee table, I returned it and re-purchased using a gift card. Due to yet another sales mistake--again, the wrong email address--West Elm refunded the gift card to the wrong email. When I contacted customer service, they had the audacity to tell me to create a fake email account to retrieve it. Unbelievable. In the end, I was forced to wait for the gift card by mail, and I am still missing two gift cards as of today. On top of all this, West Elm miscalculated my sales tax, and instead of refunding the overcharge, a customer service rep told me they owe me nothing. So they make mistakes, and I pay for it. Let's talk about the so-called "White Glove" service. They charged me hundreds of dollars for it and yet failed to properly assemble or install anything. I've had to explain my situation to dozens of clueless reps. No one takes responsibility, no one follows up, and there's zero accountability. I cannot stress this enough: Do NOT order from West Elm, especially any items that require delivery or White Glove service. This company is completely disorganized, unprofessional, and utterly incapable of handling large orders or resolving issues. Nearly two months later, and I'm still fighting for basic resolutions. West Elm has delivered the worst customer service experience of my life, and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Avoid at all costs.

    West Elm caters to a more upscale urban lifestyle and originally targeted loft dwellers. This is reflected in their smaller furniture items and decorative items. However, it would be a mistake to assume that they are just another expensive furniture store because ,the quality of their products is exceptional. Highly recommend signing up for their email list, as it includes a 10% discount on your first purchase, and they will also notify you of upcoming sales. If you're in the market for Mid Century furniture or other high-quality home furnishings, West Elm has a vast selection.The employees at this store are curt and wont greet or help unless you specifically ask for it .

    Lance cabinet that arrived broken and west elm will not refund or give credit.

    I bought an open box medicine cabinet. It arrived broken. West elm will not refund it or offer credit so i am out $200+ and have a broken cabinet to send to the landfill. This review is not directed to the store on NW Couch. My purchase was made online.

    I had a good experience and employees were super friendly, helpful and accommodating while I shopped. It was much appreciated and I knew I'd I came here I would find the holiday dinnerware I would love because west elm always has the best stuff!

    Just tried to buy a planter that I didn't want to wait to be shipped. It was the last one in store apparently and there was a price on the bottom of it with no for display sign only anywhere on it and they would not sell me it. It is not a big deal in and out of itself but i specifically went to the store to see what was available. This pot was also on clearance. Honestly, I think it was racial. I was the only person no one greeted. I know because firstly I heard associates greet everyone. I then specifically went to the front desk to get some help and only then was I helped. I had a small planter I was going to buy. I asked who I was told later was the assistant manager that I wanted the planter up front. She grabbed the smaller planter and started looking up. I told her that I knew the price for that one but wanted to get the price for the other one. She then said, " I am checking the price for the bigger one". I then explained that I didn't think it was the same design. I'll give her credit for trying to hide her annoyance and she asked me to direct her to the planter. I did and then she said they didn't have any in stock. So I asked if I could buy that one. She said no and gave me a condencending smile with no explanation. Something seemed really off about the whole experience which is why after I left I came back to verify with someone else. I told her the woman at the counter had said there were no planters aside from that one and I couldn't buy it. At which point she said oh the manager said that? I asked," She is the manager?" She replied she was the acting manager for today...so again I'm getting really weird vibes about how she is answering the question. At this point I tell her I came phisically to the store because I wanted the pot today. She said management decided what was available for sale at the store or not. I told her I understood but it was weird because it was a sale item online, these kind of planters had been around for a while, and that there was nothing to differentiate it from things actually available for purchase. She clearly did not care and proceeded to patronize me with her previous explanations. I told her after she stated she understood my frustration, which she clearly did not, that it didn't take much effort to put up DISPLAY ONLY signs. Anyways I let her have the last word and left. Now I'm leaving this review. To upper management if you ever wonder why sales go down...this kind of service and lack of in-store products is why. Not everyone wants to shop online or put up with lousy service. Hard pass on their offshoot CB2 as well.

The quality of the product exceeded expectations and we look forward to many years of use and relaxation. We have been living in Portland for five years and wish we had found City Liquidators sooner. We have a small craftsman cottage with limited space and David really helped us pick the right furniture for our space. If you live in a larger house the choices are endless. Not just furniture but antique bars, neon lights, classic oversized film and music posters and artwork. You can get a lifesize Harley Quinn or John Wayne wooden statue, credenza's or wardrobes along with any kitchen supplies and small appliances you might need. New and vintage choices abound. When you go plan accordingly as there are multiple floors of merchandise to choose from and free lollipops for the kids to keep them busy. Even if you don't buy anything, the first trip you'll be blown away by the selection and you'll definitely come back to get something unique the next time. That's what we did. Also, and most importantly, no pressure from the sales staff. They let you wander around and really look over anything you'd like. As I like to say you don't get the hard sell on the soft couch. Vast selection, the best vintage in Portland! When I visit, I plan on at least 45 minutes because there is so much to see! I walk around the entire footprint then turn around and walk the other direction because different items will catch your eye. If you are seeking an occasional chair, they have so many styles and cool pieces. Wish I had room for more! They just don't make these styles anymore or of the same quality. They usually have a large selection of couches also in shades of teal, orange, avocado just like on The Brady Bunch. Even plaid, if that's your thing. And of course boomerang shaped coffee tables to complete your seating area. There are so many unique one of a kind pieces too, like an upright piano transformed into a bar. OMG, I wish I had the space for it! What I always have room for is unique bar ware and glasses and they have lots to choose from. Lots of metal and sculptural wall art which really gives a room personality especially when complimenting paintings or prints. They have a large selection of table lamps but it's the hanging pendants that I really love. Perusing this store ignites so many memories! I see items that take me back to my childhood home, pieces I haven't thought about in years.     Do not consign furniture with this company! Similar to an…read moreearlier Google review from Renetta, I had a very poor experience as a consigner with this business. I consigned 7 pieces with them in February 2023. Michael, the owner of the business, violated the terms of consignment contract in two ways and was just a poor business person to deal with. He violated the agreement by lowering prices for my pieces below the agreed threshold without notifying me, as was required. And he did not make payments to me following sales of individual items as was also required. Perhaps more importantly, as Renetta experienced, he provided no documentation whatsoever as to the actual sales of the items - no receipts, invoices sent to clients, no notation of sales prices per item, nothing. He just said the total proceeds were XXX$ (less than 50% of his original estimation). So he could have been completely making the number up. Because of this I asked for a report with prices by pieces and receipts. He refused to provide one. When I eventually gave up on that, he then ignored my requests for payment until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I was finally paid for my pieces almost a year after consigning them. I am a small business owner myself. I store receipts for every transaction my business conducts. If someone asks for a receipt or record of a transaction I can provide it easily. For Michael, this is too much to ask.

They have curated a vast collection of mid-century modern furniture, many unique pieces, and in good condition. Was impressed and amazed at how many chairs they have! Not one or two of this and that; they had enough of the same chair to surround a dining table for 6 or 8! And also many dining tables of different materials and styles. Michael, the owner, gave me a cheerful greeting upon entry and welcomed me into the store. He gave me details on several items I was checking out, and since he didn't have the Eames chairs in the particular color and leg style I'm seeking, he offered to reach out to his network and get back to me. Now that is service! The store is deceivingly large so take your time and go through every room. In addition to couches, occasional chairs, dining tables and chairs, there are coffee tables, ottomans, side tables, lamps, hanging lights, chandeliers, pottery, vases, some dinnerware and some beautiful art. I'm so happy that I discovered this gem of a store! I will be making my rounds here frequently. Beautiful items, fair prices, and super friendly and helpful service - a winning combo!
