I came here looking for a new dining room set and couch for my living room. I want a change. I have a friend who bought several nice pieces of furniture from West Elm. I came here hopeful but left somewhat disappointed. No one greeted me at all and I had to find someone to help me. Beyond that, they seem to have the same type of furniture shown in different ways. There are lots of colors to choose from but I wanted to see more styles. If you have something custom ordered, it is a minimum 5 month wait. It comes from Asia. Price wise, it is about what you would expect nowadays. They do seem to have a generous return policy if the customer is unhappy. That is definite plus. read more

Of course quality comes with a higher price tag so expect to pay full retail here although I did see a few sales scattered throughout the store. This was my first visit to a West Elm store and it reminded me of a Restoration Hardware store with its quality statement pieces and neutral color scheme. Staff was all over the store to offer help and answer questions. Anyone can find something to work into their home decor here or you can just come to window shop for design inspiration. BUYER BEWARE!!!! My sister and I placed an order in store for $20,000 worth of furniture to furnish our Mom's new Miami rental home. My Dad recently passed away and we wanted to do something to cheer her up. So we spent over 7 hours over two days at West Elm designing the whole house with a salesperson named Douglass. I thought Douglass had our best interest at heart but clearly just wanted to take advantage of my Mom and make his commission. Since placing the order in mid October we were left high and dry regarding delivery. Douglass went MIA on us. No email or call was returned. We tried unsuccessfully for two weeks to get anyone in the company to respond to our inquiries about delivery dates. The online tracking system they gave us was fluctuating ridiculously one day saying delivery to the shipping center was 11/13-11/24 then 11/27-12/20 and then another set of dates and another. While this was happening we continuously emailed and called and still no response. You'd think if you placed such a large order that your salesperson would respond to you within 24 hours. Only after I sent a message through Linkedin did anyone reach out. And that was weeks later. I cannot tell you how disappointed we are. This company just took our money and could have cared less about us after that. We plan to cancel our entire order. read more

The customer service person online did not want to honor my original purchase price. I am now in the process of returning over $4,000 worth of items. It's the principle at the end of the day. West Elm is a complete SCAM WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. West Elm has not delivered a nursery rug that i ordered almost a month ago that costs over $700. No one on the customer service team has offered help with locating the item if it was delivered to the wrong address or refunding me since i paid for something that i didn't receive. The team won't even provide proof of delivery (because there is none, the item never arrived!) The customer service has been HORRIBLE. Each time i call i am simply told nothing can be done about it, the agent refuses to let me speak to a supervisor and they disconnect the call as i am speaking. I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED SUCH TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE. It's unbelievable the prices that West Elm is charging for basic items but they don't even have a team in place to rectify issues that were caused by them or their couriers. I have never had such an issue with pottery barn, CB2 or any other professional company I've ordered from. West Elm essentially has taken my money without exchange if an item. If I don't have a resolution i have no choice but to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau, the Consumer Protection Agency and am willing to take legal action following that if not resolved. West Elm was the worst shopping experience of my life. I ordered 4 chairs in August. They promised to deliver it in September. They changed the date 3 times and had different excuses. By the end of October, they sent me 2 boxes. They sent just the base of the chairs. No seats. I cancelled the order and I still dont have my money back! It's almost $900! Terrible customer service, delivery is slower than molasses. Order a bed and sofa in July. Cancelled the sofa because the delivery date was moved beyond a responsible time-frame. I kept the bed I ordered because it was supposed to be delivered within a few days. That was on September 3rd, we are now going on three weeks and have been told it will be delivered 9/29. It is interesting how reviews and comments are blocked on all of their social media pages. They clearly know they have a problem but are being extremely shady and not allowing the public to write reviews in forums more easily accessible to the public. It's very easy to get inspired here but also very pricey. Everything is laid out so perfectly in such a clean and stylish way, it makes you want to immediately move in and call it your new home. While the larger furniture pieces can run you a pretty penny, the lamps and side decor are usually a great way to take home a key piece without breaking the bank. I have plenty of cushions from here that look great and receive a lot of compliments. The sales associates are quick to answer your questions and can even make suggestions based on your style. I like to get ideas from here for future home projects. It's not cheap in anyway but certain items are definitely worth it. It's not where you shop but how you shop. It's one of the nicer furniture stores for those with a bit of an eclectic taste. read more

Horrible customer service experience there were several employees all bunched up in the back I noticed when I waked around no one asked to help me, I had to flag down one who was walking by about needing help he said that he'd send some one after 30 minutes no one came to me . The worse is that I was the only customer in the store at the time and about 5 employees which none came to help me... This is horrible these employees are robing the owners . Look at the camera between 4 and 4:30 you'll see me walking around even asking for help and you'll see your staff doing nothing but sitting around waiting on time to roll by. ***TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE STAFF, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT*** Total lack of customer service and basic courtesy as they couldn't care less about the customers. They don't answer emails and management won't take phone calls. Management is never available and don't follow up on anything having to do with calling or emailing the customers. I purchased a Sofa and they delivered a damaged sofa twice. They finally delivered one, which wasn't as bad as the first 2 attempts and we kept it. The bottom of the sofa collapsed within 10 months after purchase for no reason other than the quality was poor or this was a factory issue. We don't have kids, animals or anything that would cause the sofa bottom to collapse like this. I tried reaching somebody for help and after a week, what seems to be a teenager or a very young person (Name Natash...) got back to me by phone. After I explained what happened she said there's a 12 Month warranty and they would work with me and she asked me to send the purchase receipt by email, which I did the same day. Two weeks passed without hearing from anybody. I emailed her again and she said somebody would get back to me, which they never did. After 3 weeks and another email I had to send, the same employee said that unfortunately there was nothing they could do for me. I asked her to have the manager or decision maker contact me. That was a week ago and I'm still waiting for the manager call. ***DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID WEST ELM. the five star reviews have to be fake. i have been in this store multiple times and never had a great experience. Rude. Poor customer service. Poor quality items. Items rarely available. Customer has to pay ridiculous shipping amount for an item they do not have in store_shipping to store for the customer to pick up is NOT an option. Refunds are delayed and you will have to contact corp and/or district management to get a refund when they have longed received the damaged item sent to you. Managers at the stores are non responsive. Employees are equally as bad as the mangers and even worse. I came to this store (#878 Dadeland) to furnish my new apartment. The furniture from here is beautiful! I used their West Elm magazine to get some inspiration on what I wanted my living room to look like. Once I picked out the furniture and measured my living room to make sure all the furniture would fit nicely, we went into the store to see the furniture in person and the store manager (Robert) put in the order for us. Robert was amazing and patient and even was able to find some Alden bar stools in his warehouse that I had been wanting that were on back order. I was able to buy the stools and take them home the same day and I absolutely love them!! I recommend making an appointment beforehand because many times the store gets pretty busy and it's hard to get someone to help you. Robert was great and VERY helpful. The sales person was very helpful and made a very positive impression. The only unit available was the floor model, so we had to go with that. He promised it would be well wrapped and ready for pick-up by 3pm the next day. Arrived at 3:15. Not ready yet. They put a single layer of shrink wrap on a heavy table. Not enough to protect it on the truck bed. The customer pick-up person very rudely made it clear that since we had bought the floor model we were less than real customers, and they could not spare more than one layer of shrink wrap for our kind. The manager was equally rude and clueless until we suggested that a layer of cardboard would be appropriate. Given the level of post-sale customer service we experienced, we will not be returning to this store. read more

I will not be shopping at this location ever again. The entire staff is a joke. The only person professional was Angelo in the back of the house. He helped un-box all my chairs and put them in my vehicle while 4 others stood around talking and smoking. I ordered my dinning room table and chairs back in the beginning of October, I just now finish receiving my table on 12-11-19. Table was returned 2 times because it was damaged when it arrived, my original chairs have been at the store the entire time and no one knew they were there, believe me i spoke to everyone. Since Atlantic Station did not have the Slipper Chairs I was looking for nor did they want to sell the floor models, my partner said I should give the other West Elms a call. Fortunately, Dadeland had not only 4 but 5 of these chairs, plus they were selling them $100 less than the Atlanta store! Oh and total shipping was less than a $100! Looks like I may be only purchasing West Elm items at Florida stores since they were very helpful on finding this rare chair for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I like West Elm for Furniture. The quality is amazing - hard wood, durable, and design savvy. We have a couple pieces from here around the house. DON"T get anything in white from here though - it's impossible to clean - we have a white dining table from here, and one year later it looks horrible. The prices are ok for most pieces (I say it's between moderate and pricey) but I'd check out Ikea first in re: to furniture - and for the rest of the stuff - go to - yes, Ikea. read more
