I gave Bean Bag 5 stars for our first visit and am not going to change the score because of the falafel. I thought about it, but everything else was very good. The owner helped us choose a "soft" sub roll for the porchetta and a "hard" Italian baguette for the cold cut sub. The porchetta was tender and flavorful, and together with the soft roll, kind of reminded me of a Taiwanese gua bao or Cantonese charsiu bao. It was incredible and smelled so delicious! The cold cut sub was simple and well balanced, and good with the harder baguette. Lastly, the handmade pappardelle was delightfully chewy and reminded me of Chinese hand pulled noodles. Didn't expect to have such parallels with Chinese food- and I enjoyed reflecting on how different cultures can come to have similar tastes and values.
