Bobby, the owner, is very personable, knowledgeable, responsive and reasonable priced. He came out in July and gave me a quote to high pressure wash my roof, repair 11 leaking gutter seams and install aluminum gutter filters. Work was performed in August and then we received about ¼" of rain in September. I was surprised when 5 of the gutter seams and 1 of my downspouts were leaking! Good thing there is a 1 year warranty. Bobby responded quickly and scheduled the repair. One week later, I found a bag of metal screws was left on my lower roof. Overall, I am happy with Bobby and his employee Nate, but I feel the attention to detail by other employees was lacking. One of the branches on my plant was damaged as they dragged the hose around, some of the lower tiles - which were removed to accommodate the gutter filters - were not repositioned correctly, the 6 leaks and finding the bag of metal screws. I feel hopeful the improvements will be beneficial with our upcoming wet winter, but curious how my gutters seams will hold. On a personal note, if you have your roof power washed, I recommend you unhook your downspout rain barrel and cover your sprinkler valves - it was my mistake not to cover them and it caused more work for myself.

After another company gave me a pretty outrageous price, I called City Gutters, who evaluated my situation over the phone. After texting several photos, they said they could replace it for their minimum price per job and scheduled me for two days later. I won't be able to see it in action until the next heavy rain obviously, but it looks well-made. I'm glad I got a second opinion after the other company tried to convince me my style of gutters was so hard to work with, hence the high price. They appeared to be working harder and faster than any other roofing crew I had seen, and they got the job done in 3 or 4 days instead of the typical 5. When I got a letter from my home insurance company stating that they would cancel me if I didn't get a new roof (the same thing has happened to most of my neighbors, I suspect), I called Alex Perez Roofing, plus two other companies for comparison. Alex himself came out, and he spent a long time talking to me and my partner about the job. He answered all of our questions. He didn't have a slick sales presentation like the other two roofing companies that we called. As a former roofer himself, he was more focused on explaining the dynamics and the work of the job, rather than trying to get us to agree to a a top-tier "premium roof package." Unsurprisingly, his bid came in lower than the other two companies I called. In an apples-to-apples comparison (50 year warranty, special venting at the top of the roof line) his company had the best value. His guys showed up on time, worked hard, were very polite, and left the job site clean. On the office side, Alex's staff kept me well-appraised on where we were in the process, and when invoices were due. When additional dry rot was discovered after the roof was pulled off, his office staff emailed me a comprehensive report and photos, and they had a lengthy phone conversation with me about it at my request, ensuring that all of my questions were answered. Alex also dropped by the job site regularly to check on things. The whole crew struck me as honest, regular working people just trying to get the job done, never trying to upsell me on any special packages, warranties, or guarantees.
