Is there a higher than 5 star available ? Twice, contractors have tried to fix a leaking/flooding issue in my guest room. They believed they did and they didn't. A friend recommended Kevin to come take a look - presumably to fix a new gutter issue. But he realized exactly what the leaking/flooding issue was from that no one else figured out! he immediately referred me to a great guy whose team came in and took care of the issue (it wasn't just the gutter) - and he verified the actual issue through testing - and also affixed a temporary solution to stop the flooding from happening while we waited for the rain to pass. I would highly recommend Kevin to anyone who wants someone not only knowledgable but also friendly, prompt and thoughtful. We were very pleased with Gill's gutters. Kevin came out promptly in August when we first requested a bid. Unfortunately, we had costs overruns on our remodel project and we weren't able to proceed until this month. I contacted Kevin and had him come back over and refresh himself with the project. Kevin honored his original bid and highlighted some other costs that might be incurred, but he will advise when gutters were removed. Kevin stayed in constant contact while scheduling and stayed on time. Kevin and his small crew were very methodical, professional, and meticulous in their work. We still obtained two other bids, one was $400 higher and one that was $7K higher. The bidder that was $11K advised me that his crew would have to roll back the first two rows of shingles to cut back the plywood sheeting for the gutters to be properly attached. When Kevin came out the second time, he looked closer and told me that might be an extra cost. Once Kevin and his crew removed the gutters, he advised that the plywood would have to be trimmed back at an expense of $500. The other bidder quoted us $5K for the same process. I could not be happier with the way the job turned out. Kevin kept us in the loop in every step of the process. These gutters are guaranteed for 40 years and have a baked enamel paint. We had an approximately 35 ft run of older gutter system that was too small, leaking....generally failing and causing issues for us, with a couple of particular technical aspects including it running just above a shade structure, and also along a section of flat roof with some kind of propylene (I believe) membrane material that the top inside edge of the gutter is placed under. Reached out to 3 contractors. One was unresponsive, and another indicated that the replacement would not be doable with the shade structure in place. I suspected that was not necessarily the case and that the added technicalities simply resulted in the job being not quick and easy enough for him to be willing to take it on, but that's fine, whatever the case.... Kevin of Gill's Gutters indicated that he could do the job for us, and his estimate was reasonable. As it seems to me is often the case with well regarded contractors, Gill's had quite a few jobs lined up and it took a while for them to get to us (I indicated that it did not seem to be an emergency, but that I wanted to get it done relatively soon). Once we got it scheduled, Kevin came out with his associate, in between forecasted periods of rain. They were prompt, professional, cleaned everything up afterwards, etc. Even given the technical issues, Kevin skillfully figured everything out and completed everything as agreed to, including without having to do a cost-added step that we agreed upfront might be necessary. He patiently and clearly answered our questions and gave sensible suggestions when asked. We'll see how it functions over time, but I anticipate that it will do well for us. As other reviews suggest, all indications seem to me to be that Gill's is a capable, reputable company, and we anticipate having Kevin give us a quote later for some other improvements that we look to have done after we do some more planning and budgeting. read more

We used Gills gutter services recently and could not be happier. I called Kevin after our recent rain storm and he was able to come by to take a look in a few days. We knew the gutters probably needed to be replaced but was hoping to salvage them for another 1-2 seasons. I initially called to have the gutters repaired but after inspecting them Kevin recommended replacing them. I appreciated his honesty, rather than offering a costly temporary fix. After a week or so we decided to move forward with the replacement. Kevin was able to begin work immediately. He was able to get all the gutters and downspouts done on a 3500sq ft home in 3 days. He has certainly been doing this for a long time as every step from take down and putting up new ones was strategically planned. The gutters were made on site with the least amount of seams. The bends on the downspouts are very clean and tight. (I'm sure not too many people can make them as clean). Kevin is meticulous to the point of using a leveler to straighten out every downspout!!He takes pride in what he does and it certainly shows. The finish product looks fabulous. It was 11:30pm and I heard a loud bang from outside. I went outside to find that my gutter had ripped away from the house! Water was pooling in the middle of the gutter and was spilling over like a waterfall. I texted Kevin at 11:30pm and he got back to me first thing in the morning the next day. He came out super quickly! After looking at the gutters, he found three issues. First and foremost, there was a good amount of dirt that has now turned to mud. He cleaned out a good portion of it to allow water to flow. He also noticed that the original installation of the gutters was not right. They weren't angled properly so water was/is pooling because of it. He did his best to raise them near the center but couldn't get it to his satisfaction level simply due to how they were installed. He also noticed that the gutters were nailed in to the wood. He took out the nails and put proper screws with rubber washers in every 2 feet to make sure I was set to go and they wouldn't fall out again! Kevin also went above and beyond by checking the other areas of the house to make sure they were okay. And Kevin did all of that in the rain! I'd absolutely recommend Kevin to anyone needing gutter services! read more

Kevin did a fantastic job on our gutters this morning. He was super nice, professional, efficient, and honest, I really couldn't recommend these guys enough. I didn't realize how much nicer the house would look with new gutters, and I'm very excited to not have to climb up there and blow leaves all the time anymore. Overdue for this review but the perfect time as we're currently having storm season of the century. Hired Kevin last fall to repair gutters and down spouts. Gutter were sagging. Had few other companies tell me I need a new gutter system and some said dry rot. Kevin came out and said it only needs to be reattached with longer screw. Old system were installed using 1.5 inch screws and he wanted to add 3inch. I didn't believe it at first but Kevin did a few areas to show me I don't need a new system. He went around entire house and secured all the loose areas with longer screws. He also added 2 areas where gutters needed to be and repaired all joints on the spout as they were all leaking. As we're here in March I've had zero issues. I've walked around the during storms to see if any leaks. Kevin does provide a 2 year warranty on his work. He did say his work is so perfect he knows he won't need to come back. You'll prob find someone that cost less than Kevin, but with Kevin you are paying for the quality and peace of mind the system won't fail. read more

Kevin was amazing. He was incredibly responsive and was one of few companies that got back to me in a timely manner. Even in the midst of juggling a busy schedule he made a point to come and see our home and provide an estimate and professional expertise about the gutter installation and repair of existing gutters. He also was true to his promise that he would get the gutters up before the rain came and worked with us to get into his schedule as soon as possible. Called this company because we had water flowing over the gutters at one corner in the backyard. Kevin said we needed a downspout. Didn't think that was the problem, but I thought he was the expert. So, bought into his recommendation to clean the gutters, seal up the seams, and add a downspout. $1050 investment. 3 months later, same problem. Called Kevin and asked him to take a look. He said he'd come out, for, in his words, a $250 appearance fee. Claims the gutters are probably clogged again due to the moss on my roof which is not true as there is no moss on my roof. He just did not get them clean the first time. He has a quick temper and is unprofessional. I first experienced this after the first job when I questioned him about all the debris still coming out of the spouts after he supposedly cleaned the gutters, and he was rude and defensive. It was a waste of time to call him again, but I had spent a lot of money on what I was told would fix it and I was hoping he would back up his work. Please be forewarned, substandard work and poor customer service. I wasted $1050 with this company, but you don't have to. Rebuttal: Sealing the seams was actually my request. They were not leaking, but I had sealed them myself in the past, and thought they should be redone by who I thought was an expert. I typically only have to have the gutters cleaned every year or so. They clogged again after 3 months because they were not cleaned the first time. An expert probably would have seen we did not need a downspout, but just a good cleaning. Again, he is unprofessional and does shoddy work. Wasted $1050 with this company. The 5-star reviews were probably written by his family and friends. Update: Had a reputable company come out 2 days later to clean the gutters. They pulled down a lot of debris, probably equivalent to a 5-gallon bucket or so, and actually washed the gutters with water. There is no way that much debris built up in 3 months, especially since we don't have any trees over our house. It was the debris that I paid Gill's Gutters to remove. I read all the reviews even the bad ones and decided to give it a try. I called Kevin mid October. He answered and advised me he was at Home Depot and asked that I just text him my address. I didn't feel comfortable just texting my address so I sent a text with details about my job and asking him to give me a call to discuss. Not receiving a return call I called him the next day and left a detailed voice mail. To date I have received no response!!! Look elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!! I needed 200ft of new gutters on my house, 100ft of that was on a second story. They were completely rusted through and unsalvageable. After getting a couple of bids that seemed really high (upwards of $19-$20 per ft), I called and just asked "can you beat these prices?" Lots of businesses won't talk prices with you over the phone, which can be frustrating at times, but Kevin said he would beat it, and gave me some numbers right there on the call. He came over and provided the bid, and I signed the same day. On the day of the job he and the crew kept in contact, and were very friendly and answered all of my questions. The reason the stars are low is because during the removal of the old gutters, one of our original gutters was left half attached to the house but hanging off by a couple feet. The other issue was that we originally discussed having 7 down spouts installed but when the install was done, only 6 were installed. The 7th down spout was charged to our bill, and although a refund was promised, it's been 3 weeks and still nothing. If those two minor issues had been addressed, this review would be much higher.
