Love this Petco, this is where I adopted my adorable kitty! Back in the days before Covid when they…read morecould partner with local shelters, they had a Kitty Palooza weekend. Grieving the unexpected loss of my 3 year old Bengal, I was searching online for kittens and saw one that I couldn't stop thinking about. When I called Petco, they were closing for the day but told me the cat had not been adopted and they would make sure that she was there in the morning. I arrived at 10am and the minute they opened the cage and handed her to me, she couldn't stop purring and I couldn't stop smiling! She is the sweetest, most affectionate and playful kitty and I couldn't be happier. Now 2.5 years later, I'm shopping at Clackamas Promenade which I often do, and noticed Petco over by Target. In all this time, I had never come back! I had been there to adopt the kitty but at the time, never realized it was a Petco. Crazy! Especially since Petco is the only place I buy kitty litter since they carry SoPhresh, the absolute best litter on the market. Little tracking, no oder, scoops easily and lasts. 14 pounds cost just $6.99; $5.99 if you refill a jug, saving you a dollars and the environment. Coincidentally I had my 14 pound refill jug in my car trunk as I was planning on going to Petco Unleashed on the roundabout way home. I wondered in to fill up on kitty litter and check out the store since it's located in an area that I frequent. It's a large Petco with a unique footprint. When you enter, there are cash registers and the pet supplies are to the left, up a few steps. There are lots of dog toys, beds and clothing, along with food, bones and other dog supplies supplies. Some super cute pull toys! Also lots of cat supplies; dry and wet food, treats, beds, scratching posts, toys, and of course the refill station for SoFresh. Management - please look into carrying Nulo brand dry cat food. If Petco carried, I could take care of all my cat needs at one store. Petsmart and Broadway Pet carry Nulo, specifically the Hairball Management version that works and is a necessity for my two long haired cats. In the back area of the store, with a nautical theme, are the fish, lizards, and other small critters. The area was very clean with no fish or animal smell. They also groom dogs at this location. The staff is super friendly. The best part of my visit was getting to cuddle a Golden Doodle puppy who as there with his owner. The cashier gave me some treats to give the puppy, which we both enjoyed! He, the treats; me the love. Glad the receptors in my brain we're working that day and made the connection that there is a Petco at Clackamas Prominade. When I empty the last of the litter into the kitty litter pan, I always put the empty jug in my car so that when I pass a Petco, I can refill. This Petco is now on the list!

I Uber'd up there and was told that they couldn't groom her unless I had a note from my vet saying it was okay to groom her when she has a minor heart murmur. Vetco (Petco's mobile vet service) diagnosed her 3 years ago. You don't have that on file when your company was the one that treated her? So, $50 of Uber rides and half of a wasted day and I didn't get any grooming done. Never going back to this location. Read all of the other reviews, they're just as bad.

He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure I left with the right products instead of just trying to make a sale. It's rare to find customer service this good these days, and Nathan really stood out. He answered all of my questions, gave helpful recommendations, and made me feel like a valued customer. Thanks to him, both my dog and I left happy. If you're shopping at PetSmart, I definitely recommend asking for Nathan. He's an awesome employee and deserves the recognition. Thank you for the outstanding service!

This is absolutely the worst place that you could take your animal. I've had my rescue animals,…read moreliterally abused at this location and when I called, they had every excuse in the world which I tried to give them credit, but it was like do you not have notes on how they have their haircut their rescue animals why would you cut off the moles cut their hair so short in the winter time that I have to put coats on them and there was no excuse for them to be doing that when it was an ass therefore I took my dog in there to get cleaned a year later and he was left in a cage for three hours called. They said it's gonna be another couple hours before I could pick them up. I'm like that's bullshit. He had an appointment. I don't like my dog to be locked up in a cage cause I don't cage in myself because I feel that it's abusive, but that's what they did so I let it go, so I adopted another dog and went to make an appointment and they left me on hold for quite a while and then like left their phone on speaker and I heard the people like no I'm not effing doing that Dog. They didn't realize that they had speakerphone on and I was listening to the whole conversation so I sat there for quite a while before anybody answered and she said oh I'm sorry we have notes in here for when you brought your dog in last time. I said well he's deceased. I have a rescue dog that I wanna bring in and have him cleaned up and she got very argumentative so I called corporate and explained the whole situation. The lady was very understanding. I got a phone call today and the whoever called was very rude and inappropriate I did not feel it and it was not a good situation. If you are going to service animals, you should be more sympathetic, empathetic and understanding, but this is not the situation with Petsmart and I am going to put it out there. I'm disgusted and sickened by this location their nasty attitudes and the way they treat animals we need to file a report with the state because this is not OK. This is absolutely disgusting.

I've had nothing but great experiences here- from the staff up to the owner, everyone is friendly…read moreand knowledgeable. I recently saw Kaia for nail trims for all 3 of my dogs. She was so sweet and very skilled in her craft- and I know my pups can be skittish on the grooming table. She went above and beyond with my scruffy senior and gave him a well needed sanitary trim along with his pawdicure (without me even asking) ! You can tell she loves dogs and cares for them as if they are her own. I will definitely be seeing her regularly!

Used to be a 4-5 star, not perfect but I'd say over all great and close to home- Couple hiccups but…read moredidn't stop us from coming back, that is life. Ever since our regular groomer left it has gone from a 4 to a 3 and if they weren't so darn nice, clean and local it would be less than a 3. So here we go- Last several grooms they miss stuff, no biggy, I just go back and trim some small things up- they are dogs and moving around so I get it but my dog I know is sweet and docile so I think she is on the easier side although her hair is so kinkly curly that adds the element of hard (I am trying to be really gracious to here) but today, we picked her up and after having to shave her ears from matting she has a cut on each ear and bleeding and no one said one word so we are pretty disappointed. She is clearly uncomfortable because she isn't acting herself. Matting on her is on me, it happens sometimes even when we brush her alot....this is the first time they have ever had to shave her ears! Super disappointed that no one noticed or said anything. Again, everyone is nice, it is very clean and I do love that they have her in and out in like 90 min but they need to pay attention to the details and communicate better, especially for well over $100 appt every 6+ weeks of going there. ***Update*** Owner reached out, said they didn't see any blood but sometimes when you have that close to this area of skin shaved it can bleed, not from a cut though. And cuts happen, we get it! No one would have seen the blood unless they looked inside her ear so I want to clarify it wasn't a cut as far as we understand and we don't think they were careless w/ our pup, actually the opposite, they are very caring which is why we go there. So now that we are a day later I think my only feedback would have been that it would have been nice to be made aware this CAN happen so we were prepared and not worried when we saw the blood, super simple! We are lay people & not experts in grooming procedures around matting and what can happen. We will work harder on the ears to make sure this can be avoided in the future, it is the first time her ears had to be shaved so after 3 years we are still learning how to manage this girls kinkly curly coat. My husband thinks maybe I should have given them more time to respond but I had 2 bleeding ears and couldn't reach anyone by phone, text or email and I should have not had to wait hours to understand what was happening.
