I have been in this 20 story condo building since it opened in 2021 and I was sad to see they…read moreinstalled Richmond Elevators when I moved in originally. But as time has gone on, I am actually really upset ANY company installs these products in towers. We get MONTHLY maintenance on 2x elevators, and yet one always seems to go out of service. Our strata will no long call them afterhours due to the cost of it; and part of my thinks Richmond Elevator makes cheap product so they can service them to death and make their money on service calls. But more than the frequency they break down, I find annoying the fact of how loudly they operate. I wake up from how loudly they run, I heard strained wires/cables, clanking around doors, and what I assume are the brakes all night. I have reported it to my council, but I think the next step is to do a noise test to see if these units even meet the BC building code for noise... Basically, if your developer installs a Richmond Elevator, expect that they have cut corners on everything/

Rip-off artists of the first order…read more Thyssenkrupp charged us $400 an hour, with a minimum duration of 2 hours per elevator to SUPERVISE a security company installing cameras. While the technicians were on site, the caretaker asked them to replace a burnt-out indicator bulb, and they refused, stating that we needed to book a separate service appointment (at the same rates) to replace the bulb. We will not be renewing our maintenance contract with them.
