It's one of those shops I'm glad isn't close to my house or I'd be over there wayyy too often adding various colorful furniture, knick-knacks, and bric-a-brac to my stale beige apartment. The shop features two rooms devoted to all things imports. The first room is mainly small items, from jewelry and candles to clothing and other decor items. If you're looking for a gift for that hard-to-shop-for friend, this is the place. The second room is full of seriously gorgeous furniture and larger household decor items. Dressers, chairs, beds, dining sets, tapestries, lamps, rugs...it's all in here and it's all just begging you to dig out the ol' credit card and re-dec your place to look like you just returned from a six month excursion through Southeast Asia. The staff are super helpful, too. I was looking for a wall tapestry for my daughter (who is trying desperately to add a boho vibe to her bedroom). The store employee showed me the different sized tapestries and helped me pick one that most suited my kid's vibe. She said if my daughter didn't like it I was welcome to come back and exchange it for a different one. (Luckily, she liked it!) Someday when I win the Mega Millions I'm going to head to Wander and buy one-of-everything.

But then newcomer Spirits Free arrived, and although at first it seemed the store had an identity crisis, leaving the sign blank with no name for months, the character of the shop, now aptly named 'Wander', really took an independent form. The space was brightened up considerably and filled with affordable merchandise from around the globe. Add nice music and an uncluttered layout and voila! You have an inviting, warm place to buy lovely things for yourself or gifts for friends. The merchandise includes home decor and objects of self adornment. From tribal style to Yoga style, there's something for everyone and every season. You can't just pass by, you have to wander in :)

Brand new furniture store that just opened this year!…read more From the moment you walk into the store you'll be blown away at how clean and aesthetically pleasing the showroom is. Everything is modern and stylish with some unique furniture that I haven't seen elsewhere. I was so comfortable browsing the room and I can picture so many of these pieces in my new home. Staff are knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I just moved recently and I was browsing to see what furniture would suit my space. I liked that the staff gave me a lot of practical advice and did not pressure me to buy anything. They were willing to answer all my questions and genuinely wanted to assist in finding the right fit for my personal style. They also have a wide selection of lifestyle and home products. As an aspiring home cook, I couldn't resist buying a set of the stone dinnerwear from Portugal. Not only are they gorgeous, but they're also oven-safe, dishwasher-safe, and doesn't get hot when I pull it out of the microwave. They were very appreciative of my business and helped carry my items to my car. As this is a new business I took several photos, but would recommend stopping by to see their showroom as it is even more beautiful in person.

The owner Gene was extremely friendly and helpful. Very soothing and comfortable shopping experience, with Lana Del Rey playing in the background. $12 plate: Handmade in Portugal that is easy to handwash. Very reasonably priced as well. I love the slight imperfections on the plate from being handmade. I liked the heaviness and quality of the plate as well. Also comes in a darker grey/black which I might come back for.

What a fabulous, cozy, amazing - albeit NOT cost- or wallet-friendly! - shop!…read more(In other words, be forewarned. You'll most likely find what you want here or the perfect gift for your friend, but it won't be cheap). Lately I've been inundated with FB ads for a specific made-in-Canada household cleaner and I was intrigued with the product, for many reasons. On the manufacturer's website, it showed that this Coast Goods store sold the products, so I decided to check it out IRL (as opposed to purchasing it blind on the web). This shop is quite small, right on Victoria Dr at the corner of Charles. There are lots of trees on both sides of the street and the area is very residential. Even with GPS, I drove right past the shop initially without seeing it (the canopy of trees obstructed the shop sign and street sign for Charles). FYI. (Granted, I'm not familiar with this particular area). Once you know where the shop is, there are ample free parking spots on Victoria proper. The store interior is small but jam-packed with incredibly well-curated items. I really like that all (or the vast majority) are Canadian-made, and many, artisanal. From jewelry to greeting cards to candles to pottery and dinnerware, from textiles and cocktail napkins to organic cleaning supplies... you'd be hard-pressed not to find something perfect here, for yourself or a gift for others. I like how they carried local artists' works but also a few other well-known companies' works (i.e., Jenny Bird jewelry, for example). The two women who worked here when I visited couldn't have been nicer. They opened up their own cleaners that I was interested in, so I could smell the different scents, and we chatted a bit about all the fun stuff in the store. Great place! I know I'll be back.

You won't find deals nor are they looking for that clientele. those L shaped sofas for $3,500; or a dining room glass set, with white leather booth style seating, also for another $3,500; you get the idea. Near the back they have a small but stylish furniture section where you can find lots of currently in style stuff to fill your home with. My favourite part of this store has got to be the quite large plant section they have in the back. There is always some new and interesting plants to choose from and the pots/arrangements are stylish and very well done. The price point is pretty good considering the quality of the pottery and plants. Though the store has a slightly higher price point I don't think it's unreasonable considering the uniqueness of some of the items and the quality of the pieces. I would suggest popping in when you are in the neighborhood to give them a little look. I'm sure you will find something you're going to love and will look great in your home :)
