He complained, saying that it costs him $3 every time he has to run a credit card (I knew that was BS). I'd probably die if I ever visited NYC alone. I opted to just call a cab given that I'm pregnant, was by myself, and have never ridden a public bus. I was pleasantly surprised that it's relatively easy to get cab transportation. Just called the number, told the dispatcher my location, and waited a little over 10 minutes by the mega bus stop downtown. Neither the dispatcher nor my cab driver had warm and fuzzy personalities, but I survived. It was a $2 base charge. Traveling from 4th and Walnut to DMU cost about $7.
