For the amount of money you potentially may be saving, I feel this can be worth it. The codes we were provided upon registration worked when we got there. Had no need to contact anyone during entire stay.
But take this into consideration before you book (also check TripAdvisor for more reviews on this place!) :
- No elevators -
If you are on the 4th floor like we were, that means walking your luggage up 5 flights (1st flight being the longest). This was fine for healthy 30 year old me, but others should definitely consider!
- Shared Kitchen/Bathroom/Laundry -
We only used the bathrooms. They weren't incredibly dirty but for sure had public bathroom vibe. Had to clean pee off the seat multiple occasions but wasn't shocked. Again, we saved decent amount by staying here compared to anywhere else that close to downtown..so there's always trade offs.
- AC/Heating situation -
We read reviews elsewhere that warned about uncontrollable A/C being blasted onto you while sleeping because beds are positioned directly under vents with no way to move. We packed an extra blanket, tape, and small 10inX10in cardboard square to cover vent in preparation. Instead, we had hot air blasting uncontrollably throughout the night. By opening the window (because the room is maybe 7ftX7ft) it gave us some relief. But it got hot in there at night, like really REALLY hot. Plan accordingly.. read more
