We recently moved, so I needed to update my driver's license with my new address. My original plan…read morewas to just walk in, but someone suggested making an appointment first to save time. They were absolutely right. Scheduling the appointment online took me a couple of tries, although that was probably more due to my own impatience than the website. I was able to book a 3:30 p.m. appointment for the same afternoon. When I arrived at the DMV around 3:15, there was already a long line of people waiting for walk-in service. The walk-in line fed a single counter, while the appointment counter right next to it had no one waiting. As soon as the staff member finished helping the current customer, she called me over. I felt a little sheepish walking past the long line, but she smiled and said, "Don't worry about it." The rest of the visit couldn't have gone more smoothly. The staff member was friendly and efficient. I had my new photo taken, signed a couple of forms, and was on my way just a few minutes later. If I could offer one piece of advice, it would be this: if your schedule allows, make an appointment before you go. You'll almost certainly be glad you did.

They allowed my mom to take guardianship of my daughter due to being an abused woman and being isolated. I went through a lot being an abused woman and they set me up with an amazing set of CHIPS workers as well as a nice guardian at litem who was very helpful in getting me the services I need in the best interest for my daughter. This courthouse is very nice; I'm waiting for Fond Du Lac courthouse to open their business so that I can write a review for them as well. That's my second favorite courthouse. I can only review the process to reserve park space. We're holding our wedding at Homestead Hollow…read morein Germantown. You cannot reserve space on line or via the phone. You must physically go to West Bend.....One the fist working day of the calendar year in which you wish to reserve space. While I do get that they are trying to be fair and keep it simple, it was quite the ordeal. We go there at 8 when the office opened and there was a line of 15 ahead of us. We were checked in and she used a wall calendar to check if our date was available. It was so we were ushered to line number 2. We waited for about an hour before making it to the counter where we were then given a contract. Once that was filled out double stamped and copied, off to line 3 to actually pay. The whole process took about 2 hours. It was worth is to us, the prices are great and they're pretty open in terms of use and no catering specifications, etc. But, it was very nerve wracking having to wait and see if we got the date. I do love old school methods and am far from a full on techy, I would have preferred an online system for goodness sakes.

We decided to go downstairs to have some beverages and wait with our children. About an hour went by, and we checked with the host again. He said there were 4 names ahead of us. Another 30 minutes went by and we checked with the host again. He said there were two more groups ahead of us and it would be 30 more minutes. We checked back at 8:00 pm (2 whole hours after arriving with young children), and he said there were still some parties ahead of us. At that point we were about to leave, but decided to wait a few more minutes just in case a table opened up. We were too tired and hungry to get all of our children in the car for another place. Our name was finally called and we sat down. The waiter came to our table for our order, and we ordered 3 gluten-free, baked fish dinners. He said, "Oh, I'm sorry, we're all out of baked fish." That was the only option we had, as we have some food allergies. We left very disappointed and hungry. It is unfortunate that the host didn't seem to have an idea of time, how to seat customers efficiently, nor any concern for the fact we were waiting with young children. A very disappointing and unacceptable experience. We won't be back.

I wandered through a war camp (?) which was not as well marked but they were starting to tear down so maybe the signs went first. Next I checked out the General Store, another camp setup, two farm homes, followed by the sugar shack where they sold Maple Cotton Candy. Let me tell you, this is the elite flavor of cotton candy. There were also stands with food, beverages (unclear if they sold beer), and novelties. They had a silent auction, raffle, and antiques. Plenty of activities for kids but it is a bit of walking. It took about 3,000 steps to do the full loop. I am definitely headed back with a group to attend their Blacksmith Day on October 7th.
