I mean, what kind of a bar opens at 9am and closes by 5 on Fridays, 4 on Saturdays? Roaming amongst the rows and rows of books, I couldn't even find someone to take my order. Eventually though, I figured out how this most unique pub works. It is completely BYOB! What a great savings. And then unlike other bars where you are forced to either converse with the blockheads around you, or stare at the often meaningless sporting events on the big screens (if it aint Jai-Alai, the WNBA or Green Bay Packers, what's the point?), the Cedarburg Library has an immense collection of books of all types, from novels to poetry collections, comics to bird guides; not to mention the newest newspapers and magazines. The conventionally located and well air-conditioned building also offers computers, private study rooms (assumedly if you have brought a significant other and want some alone time), and if you get really sloshed a 3d printer to play with. It would be nice if they had some alcohol on premise in case you drink everything you brought, or at least ice to refresh your spent brandy old-fashioned snifter. And bring your own bottle-opener as for some odd reason the front desk doesn't have one. But overall a wonderful place to have a coupletwothree and read some good literature.

An attractive community for those who start, and grow, their businesses. Well planned, not ostentatious, and respectful and honoring of traditional conceptions of community in America. Not so much Republican, I have found, as oriented toward a "conservative balance-sheet" mindset. While that characteristic is often mistaken with cheapness, frugality is a guarantee of stability in tough times. More importantly, when times are good, growth is closely scrutinized, developments planned with regard to sustainability. Again, all a very traditional American mindset of moderation, community and economic activity. I have to say, I used to find Ozaukee County exclusionary and intolerant. While I think there may have been something to that, I now also appreciate that this careful, conservative management has served Ozaukee County so well throughout the last two centuries.

We decided to go downstairs to have some beverages and wait with our children. About an hour went by, and we checked with the host again. He said there were 4 names ahead of us. Another 30 minutes went by and we checked with the host again. He said there were two more groups ahead of us and it would be 30 more minutes. We checked back at 8:00 pm (2 whole hours after arriving with young children), and he said there were still some parties ahead of us. At that point we were about to leave, but decided to wait a few more minutes just in case a table opened up. We were too tired and hungry to get all of our children in the car for another place. Our name was finally called and we sat down. The waiter came to our table for our order, and we ordered 3 gluten-free, baked fish dinners. He said, "Oh, I'm sorry, we're all out of baked fish." That was the only option we had, as we have some food allergies. We left very disappointed and hungry. It is unfortunate that the host didn't seem to have an idea of time, how to seat customers efficiently, nor any concern for the fact we were waiting with young children. A very disappointing and unacceptable experience. We won't be back.
