He'd have his own wing, his own spotlight, his own shrine, and probably his own theme music (almost definitely Led Zeppelin, because obviously he has taste). I'm not sure what Hank's official role is at West Atlantic Pharmacy, but I'm convinced his real titles are Chief Happiness Officer, Director of Human Kindness, and Phone-Answering Wizard Extraordinaire. The man picks up the phone with such warmth and friendliness that I'm pretty sure your blood pressure drops just from hearing his voice. He is that good. Every time I walk in, Hank is right there--sweet, kind, funny, and somehow both incredibly professional and effortlessly entertaining. When he hands me my prescription, it feels like he's presenting the Crown Jewels of England, but with better customer service. He has this magical ability to turn a simple pharmacy run into a VIP event. And the best part? Hank loves Led Zeppelin. Anyone who can discuss medication while also having the music taste of a literal rock god is someone I will forever trust with my medical needs and possibly my life. I've been trying to fill my prescription here for over a month. Each time I follow up, I'm told to "check back next week," but there's never any real update or progress. There seems to be an issue here of lack of transparency. If the medication isn't available or unlikely to be in stock, patients should be told that clearly so they can make other arrangements...not kept in a weekly loop without resolution. In one call I was told they have a list of regular patients waiting for their meds to be filled. Hearing this and adding the rest of my experience with this pharmacy made it feel like my I was no priority and that maybe this would be an ongoing issue. At a certain point, repeatedly stringing patients along without a realistic expectation of filling their prescriptions raises concerns about whether patients are being given accurate information to access their medication in a timely way. Strongly recommend trying elsewhere. read more

The older woman with the northern accent that answers the phones has made refilling prescriptions something I dread having to do knowing I have to communicate with her. When I called to explain that a prescription I paid for on the 13th has still not been delivered, she immediately said "well idk who I'm talking to so". Just miserable, absolutely miserable. This person not only accused me of "raising my voice at her" which is not even close to true, but then when she hung up on me. I called back and I said "based on your behavior, I want to speak to your supervisor immediately". She requested "what do you want me to do to rectify this" when she knew I was going to let her boss know she's a shit bag. She told the pharmacist, who I will gladly say is a pleasure to speak to and is helpful each and every time I speak to him, that I hung up on her! Great pharmacy, terrible pharmacy tech and dishonest to add on top of that mountain of a grinch. Next time, I'll record her behavior and play it back for her boss so she can't lie. Try me Karen. West Atlantic is hands down, the BEST PHARMACY in South Florida! I'm lucky to say that I've been a customer of this pharmacy since it first opened! I was referred here because my insurance would no longer cover a prescription and they are by far the cheapest around. From day one, I was treated with the upmost professionalism and also like a human being, which wasn't the case at my big box pharmacy's. They aways have a fast turnaround on medications and will have medications that other pharmacies are out of due to a shortage of supply. I have to give a special THANKS to entire staff! It's amazing how they do what they do on a daily basis and always seem to have a smile on their faces. It definitely wouldn't be West Atlantic without all of them! So, if you're looking for a pharmacy thats honest, treats you like a human being, and has medications that other pharmacy's are short on, Then West Atlantic Pharmacy is the place for you! We were in Florida during winter break when my parents got covid like the rest of the world. While I had a closet full of rapid tests back home in Chicago, I had only brought a few with me to Florida and so was on the hunt. Unfortunately, every store was sold out and the lines for testing were hours long. However, we tested twice at West Atlantic Discount Pharmacy and waited no longer than 10 minutes. The first time my family stayed outside while I got in a short line and the pharmacist came outside to tests my family. 15 minutes later we had the peace of mind for confirmed negatives. 5 days later we went back and were told they were out of tests, but had enough to do one family member and so my daughter was the lucky one. While we waited for results we heard a lot of others getting positive results, which showed how fast omicron was spreading. Fortunately, my daughter left with another negative test. The 2 times we were there they were using quick vue rapids, although you could also purchase a PCR to take home and send in, which we did not do. Highly recommend for a quick rapid for those in or visiting the area...or for other pharmacy needs! read more

This is too busy for the tiny place. Long hold times on the phone , incompetent staff that gives out misinformation on just about everything.. Do not rely on their inmformation contactn your insurance company. We need more specialty pharmacies cuz they do not care or take the time to inform you correctly. Wildly unprofessional. I received a call to get my prescription filled, which they needed to send in the mail. I was getting ready to send over the credit card info when I was instructed to text a photo of my drivers license to a number I've never seen and then provide credit card info over the phone. I asked if there is a secure document upload or an email verification I could see to verify who I was speaking with. Then the representative I spoke to on the phone got very upset with me because I asked about their process. Someone else got on the phone who I did not know was listening and got very upset with me for asking about the way they operate. I said it was fine and would do what they ask. I did tell her the way she was speaking to me was very unprofessional when all I was asking about was keeping my personal documents safe and secure. She then asked if I called her unprofessional in a raised voice. I told her yes, that she was being rude. She then yelled at me and said " Then I do not need to fill your prescriptions if you think I'm so unprofessional" and hung up on me. read more

i was a customer of atlantic discount pharmacy for years until the owners told me she can not get my medication which i take montly for years.i found out she just does not want to sell it ti people on medicare but she wants to sell it for cash.so i went to another pharmacy and lately i called the owner amy and i asked her if she has that medications anf she saif yes and come tomorrow and pick it up so i went to see her and she made wait about 40minutes and finally she came out and told mr my insurance dies not pay enough for my medications and she does not want to give to me.so i was dispinted and felt so defeated and i ask my self and ask every ones if doing all this what dies that make her any different than people selling drugs on the street.doesn't that make them a drug dealers with a license.does that give her the right to sell those medications only for cash.you will be the judge .i leave her to god. read more

You are not generic, why should your pharmacy be? We first went to West Atlantic Pharmacy after discovering that it was across the street from where I live with my Mother and due to the fact that she needs a certain type of medication compounded, which her former company does not make anymore. We were then greeted by Linda, the pharmacist who was working there. She was superb, as she was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, pretty much besting every other type of pharmacy I have used. Being that this pharmacy was brand new, their compounding equipment was not set up yet, but will be soon. However, Linda directed us to their other branch, which is still not too far from us located at Atlantic and Hagen Ranch Road. After arriving here, we were greeted by Amy, the main pharmacist here who was fantastic, thanks to her warmth, knowledge, and attentiveness unlike in other types of pharmacies. She knew exactly of the medication my Mother used and had it ready for her just a few days later. Jenna, the other lady who works there, is also wonderful! If you need regular prescriptions, this pharmacy can definitely take care of them. All of the positive feedback I give this branch also applies to their other branch at 441 and Atlantic, which was also fantastic as well. While we will mainly be using the other branch of West Atlantic Pharmacy as it is across the street from our community, I would highly recommend this along with the other branch of West Atlantic Pharmacy. read more

This is the best pharmacy EVER! I take 8 medications daily, some of which are very regulated. Until I found them, I was going to walmart, walgreens and publix each month. I tried my best to establish a relationship with each one of them over time. Because of two of the medications, which relate to my being in recovery, ( over three years, Yay!), different pharmacists would refuse to fill them, even though they could see I was getting them there for a long time. They would lie, tell me they were out, that the supplier had not been sending them, we are talking walmart here, give me a break. One of the worst guys told me I had to come back to get one on the day I ran out, so i would have none left and have to pray it would be filled. That day i came back, he said they were out, and so was I. After 48 hours without that one, I go into an incredibly painful withdrawal that becomes unbearable. He just said try Walgreens. I finally got it, but every month was a fear filled struggle and I was going crazy. I always told my Dr how hard it was to fill my scripts, but he had no solution. One month I talked to his nurse/office manager who said why hadn't I told her. She sent me to West Atlantic. I had long ago stopped trying owner operator places, they always shoot me down. I went there, knowing it was a waste, and handed all my scripts to JENNA who took one glance and said no problem, do you want to wait? I almost jumped over the counter to hug her. Also, I pay cash for them no Ins. She will give me the lowest price I can find using any of the discount cards out there. It's a year now, she answers the phone: hi, Joe. She will call me every month tell me the day to come, I tell her verbally the prices and that's that. I'm one of the jerks who only posts for problems, but I have to do this, she is so helpful, I have NEVER ran out or come back to find the prices doubled like Walgreens does out of the blue. If you want incredible service, great prices, a pharmacist who is 6 feet away and will stop immediately and talk and LISTEN for as long as you need, with insurance or not, in a few months you feel like family and they know you individually as a person with a name, It's almost surreal to me after all the big box treatment. My Dr sent them an RX for me 7/28/2015. I was told it can take a while to get the RX delivered. SO I waited patiently. When I did not hear from them or receive the RX by the 10th I had my Dr contact them again. They called me around 2pm that to say they could not fulfill the RX because they did not get my personal information. Needless to say I answered all the questions they had. I was told that they would contact me if they need additional information. I went out of town on business trip & I was anxious to get home & start using my RX to help with that nasty whole I have on my breast from my surgery. I get home on the 18th & still nothing. On the 19th I contact them to find out when my RX would be ready & that's when I was told my insurance did not cover the RX. I asked why did they not call me & offer me the option of paying out of pocket? Their answer was, I don't know. I asked why didn't they call my Dr to get a different RX? Their answer was again, I don't know. When I asked what RX did my insurance say they would cover? Again, I don't know was the answer. So almost a month later I am walking around with this hole on my breast because they didn't care enough to complete their job or follow up. I am angry, frustrated & disappointed. I called my Dr & gave them the information for another compounding pharmacy. I am willing to pay out of pocket for the RX but I refuse to use this horrible company. When you're ill or you're recovering from surgery you have enough stress to deal with. Getting your prescription should be stress free. The other compounding pharmacy will have the RX ready for me tomorrow morning. I wish someone had reviewed this lousy pharmacy so I could have asked my Dr to use a different pharmacy.
