I want to first say that when I called them, I was very happy. I called ahead and found that they had my dog's eye-drops in stock, "one bottle left"; my vet can no longer get this item, nor could CVS or Walgreens. But fast forward two hours when I walk in and I'm charged $75 for a drug that our vet had only been charging us $24 for, that is just a rip-off. I even did a little internet investigating to find the average price for this med falls between $18 and $30 per 10ML. Upon leaving Schaefer's, I called my vet on the ride home and spoke with them, they confirmed the $24 price-point. Bottom line, they knew I needed those drops (because I told them over the phone), they knew no one else in town had it (because I told them over the phone), they knew it was back-ordered and that no one else would be able to get it for me (because I told them... you seeing a pattern here???), so they charged me $75... avoid this place like the plague. I will never go to a chain pharmacy again. This place always goes out of their way for us. Pharmacy staff is excellent. Always call me by name whenever I walk in. Great home town feel. Christie (sp?) and Iris are the best. They have gone to bat for us, with our stupid insurance companies time and time again. They work their magic and usually seem to win. Even go out of their way when we have coupons from the drug manufacturers. Scripts are always ready in a jiffy, if i choose to wait (because I waited too long to get my refill in timely). Very attentive, friendly staff, fast, personalized service and they carry things that you'd never find anywhere else! This pharmacy is the best in the south Florida area! You can't find a pharmacy that provides the services that they do. They have an awesome compounding facility that can make just about any medication that is needed. The pharmacist and staff behind the counter are very pleasant. They remember their customers by name and are always concerned for you and your well being. The continuous drug law changes and limits that must be strictly adhered to, must make their job even more difficult when people do not understand them. I always ask and I am always educated if I have a question about medication I have been prescribed. I also take advantage of their prescription "overview", a free service that is offered for the pharmacist to review your medications and provide education on them, the best time to take them, what side effects there may be, etc. if you are ever in need of medical equipment, if Schaefer's doesn't have it, they will get it or they will know where to send you for it! Lastly, while you are waiting for your prescriptions, the store itself has fun gadgets, gifts, cards, toys, candy, drinks, and even pies!!! read more
