Needed to find a workspace in the city after staying in Union Square for Portola - even though I live in the East Bay, I wanted to stay in SF all weekend. Having work on Monday, I found Werqwise which was walking distance from where I was - not immediate, but not far either. I was able to book online morning of. Finding the signage outside on the street was a little difficult, but I was familiar with the area I was in. After locating, walked inside, went up the elevator and got off on the Werqwise floor... walked to the front desk and spoke to the receptionist who checked me in and gave me a brief intro on the space and where I could work. I chose to work on one of the sofas by the front, near a big window. I kind of wish I had gotten up to preview the space earlier, but did so on my way out end of day. I used the little phone booth looking private meeting rooms when I had to take calls. They have a small desk, lamp, and outlets for you to use while inside. The signage on the doors lets you know whether one is occupied or vacant. I enjoyed working there a lot. It was an excellent change of scenery and environment for me. There are other tables and sofa areas in the shared open workspace. The kitchen is off to the back where they have regular or sparkling water on tap along with I think I saw two types of beer were on tap. Coffee machine is up front (I think there was another in the kitchen?). If you're a regular there, you can leave your mug in the kitchen I think... but they had a bunch of mugs available for use. There's a fridge too. It was actually quite nice and wish I had seen this section of the floor earlier. It did provide a cool mix of working remote in a shared space, but also that office feel with the kitchen and the other side of the floor with the private workspaces you can pay more to rent out. Printers, copiers, etc. were also seen on that side of the floor. The restroom is outside of the office space, but on the same floor. You'll need to exit the main doors, walk past the elevators through another set of doors, and down the hall you'll see the restrooms. They had plenty of TP and tampons in the women's restroom which was nice because if you're traveling and you get your period or just realize you don't have one on hand, they had some supplied. I would highly recommend Werqwise for anyone traveling who needs a place to work remotely or even just for a company to offer their remote employees an option to work from. read more

Our company had a 3 day FLT meeting and leases some Werqwise space here. The lobby is on the 4th floor. It was rather efficient, getting in, getting a badge and picking out a place to work on the 3rd floor where our space is. Apparently, the cubes are fully modular and move around within the building. It's also somewhat of a labyrinth. I made the mistake of entering a few occupied spaces at first, the privacy band on the middle of the glass prevented me from seeing the occupier, a little bit embarrassing but ok, no harm done. The kitchen is shared and had free coffee, tea and a large fridge to store your lunch, which for us was catered, but also had had several dairy/nondairy options of milk. Some of the cubes had sofas, and open spaces had lounging areas for non private discussions. On the 4th floor lobby there were also these unusual looking TeePees, which closed, conceptually strange but maybe this is where the big ideas are hatched---definitely some new age think going on here. There were also high chairs and desks packed into a tight telephone like cubby for single person use. The doors all had glass, and were well designed / sound proof no matter the configuration. The door handles to most of the cubes were sliders. The material of the cube structure all seemed to be of some high grade aluminum and solid construction. I was impressed. Of course Wifi was available. The bathrooms also were decent with anti microbial tape on door handles, flushing handles. I enjoyed the Werqspace and hope to be back one day. read more

The space is nice but they are very disorganized. It took 3-4 rounds of contract editing because they had simple errors like dates, etc. wrong when we initially signed up. They send out a superfluous amount emails about keycards that we never got, the breakout rooms have horrible lighting - you cannot do a video call in them, they take a long time to get your email setup in the system. Randomly we were kicked out of the system for several months; unable to log back in. They were unresponsive to our emails until randomly a couple of months later they responded, and still did not fix the issue. **We had a horrible scenario where they failed to bill us for SIX MONTHS and then their VP of Finance sent us an outrageous bill out of no where during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying we owed a large sum of money. They also required the tenants to continue to pay during the quarantine, in which legally we could NOT use the space. The premise is great, lots of cool plants and natural light but they REALLY need to button up their upstairs office. It's a mess and very unprofessional, and they need to remember they are dealing with small businesses. I would recommend looking elsewhere for office space to get what you need. We have been with Werqwise in San Francisco for nearly 2 years now and I can tell you that we are very happy with the space. First of all, from a practical point of view, these offices are incredible. They are perfectly set up for any situation. You can have your own dedicated desk if you want to work alone, private rooms if you want to work privately and conference rooms for meetings. We also love these offices from an aesthetic point of view. It is modern, spacious, well equipped (printers and good quality wifi) and well maintained. Plants bring warmth to the workplace. And the office is really well located downtown SF, there are restaurants and nice places to eat with your colleagues all around. To us, the most important thing is the kindness of the team. They have always welcomed us and have always been there for us, even during the COVID period when it was complicated for everyone. The offices themselves are good. The public spaces are great. The two biggest drawbacks are the door lock system by a company called Kisi which requires you to use your phone to unlock doors literally dozens of times a day. My version of the Kisi app has probably 25 or 30 virtual locks in a totally random order. The other drawback is the video conferencing systems in the conference rooms rarely works as advertised without jumping through many painful hoops. I have been a member at Werqwise in SF for over 2 years, and was one of their first private office tenants. I had previously leased private offices from WeWork and Regus. I am not reviewing these other shared office spaces, but can say unequivocally that my experiences at Werqwise tower over other experiences. The key asset at Werqwise is the staff. They are dedicated to member satisfaction and work very hard at it. They listen carefully and make constant upgrades based on member input. Pre COVID, they also threw great parties on Halloween, Christmas and other holidays. The space itself is very welcoming. It is located in a vintage SOMA building with exposed brick and high ceilings. Their vision for the space is that it both foster collaborations while also providing access to privacy and quiet when needed. Post COVID, they have made extensive modifications at what appears to be significant cost to enhance safety in a shared space. Shared working tables have been spaced at 6 ft intervals, and door handles, bathrooms and shared kitchen have been covered in high tech surfaces that are easier to clean and disinfect. Due to the high ceilings and abundant circulating air flow, I have felt very comfortable in shared space with a mask and within my own fishbowl without one. There are plenty of spaces available for private calls, small and large meetings and informal discussions. I recommend the discussion and the staff enthusiastically and without reservations. I recommend Werqwise without reservations. I work from this site approximately once per week now, and hope to increase the frequency to approximately 2x per week in Q4. read more

Disorganized and generally not happy with our experience. Not sure about the hygienic factor as I haven't see a change other than stickers being placed on surfaces. We have a "larger" office and we can now only fit half of the people the room claims to hold with the updated guidelines. The offices are small to begin with. We pay a lot of money as a small business for this space and I am not seeing any value. I've heard other groups talk about reduced fees, shouldn't this be offered to everyone? I'll update this post if someone reaches out across the board where we're offered a lower rate without asking for it. read more

I have been at work Werqwise for a few months now, and can say this location and the staff are all great. I toured several WeWorks before choosing Werqwise. The WeWork staff seemed ambivalent/unprofessional, the Werqwise staff is the exact opposite: super professional, helpful and friendly. --Front Desk (4th floor): they receive packages, and greet people which is great. Works just like a regular office. --Private Office: I have a private office, though other options are available, hot desk, general work area on the 4th floor, etc. The private offices are good, more sound proof than WeWorks. The shared space areas are nice, not loud. --Access: they use Kisi, which is a Bluetooth app on your phone to unlock doors. It works well, but is sometimes slowish to respond. 24/7 access if you have a private office..I think the hot desks and general areas are available during regular hours, 9-6pm. --Kitchen: each floor has a kitchen with fresh fruit, good coffee/espresso, tea, and seltzer water. --Parking: it's downtownSF, good luck, but they have bicycle parking in teh basement, and Montgomery BART station is two blocks away. read more
