It was a great experience using the meeting space as it was professional and clean!

I have explored many shared office places in SF and most say this one is very unique. The ambiance is homey and artsy unlike other more sterile and modern co-working spaces. I enjoyed the fact that not everyone is glued to their computer doing programming or startup stuff. They host many different talents from fashion designers and freelancers to non profits organizations. People are friendly and approachable. Some can be a little to chatty and interrupt too often, but a cordial "let's catch later" will usually suffice. Pros: affordable, clean, approachable owner, safe, and a bit eccentric space. Cons: no parking, not super close to Bart (not a pleasant walk to Bart as it doesn't feel super safe), can be a bit loud depending on where your work space is, and does not offer much more than just the working space (no snacks! Haha). read more

SHARED has been our (work) home since the day it opened. Marilyn who runs SHARED created a great space that gives you a place to work from, and a community to exchange ideas with. People span all sorts of different backgrounds, from tech to art, fashion, and media. Our company works in one of the private offices, but from what I hear from other people working here, the shared workspace is nice, and you can rent lockers to stash away your stuff (including screens/keyboards etc). In addition to that, SHARED offers workshops, classes, and events, some are more serious, some are just aimed at learning new fun things. For example I took an intro course to the Ukulele. To give you a sense of just how basic the level was: I've never played an instrument before. From a more pragmatic standpoint: SHARED has all amenities you need, including WiFi and a fully stocked kitchen. read more

I love Shared. It's no frills, everything works, and Marilyn is very thoughtful and conscientious about her space. I'm pretty sensitive to the nonphysical aspects of my environment and it has a big affect on my productivity. This is not a big ego space or a pushy VC space. I feel supported here without feeling pushed or competitive. I feel like it is a privilege to be here. read more

If you are looking for a co-working space, this is the one to go to. 1) More room than any other 2) Beautiful interior 3) Good people working on a variety of cool projects 4) Marilyn is awesome 5) Just enough weirdness to make it fun 6) Impromptu whiskey/rum/tequila nights read more

If you're looking for a new coworking space that's clean, zen and not a bro coding factory, then Shared is your jam. The owner, Marilyn, is absolutely delightful and accommodating. You'll meet a great mix of people here, from artists to engineers to musicians, and it's a nice breath of fresh air (I work in tech and appreciate the variety). Location is fantastic, pricing is affordable, and the entire place has good energy. You must check it out. read more

I love the artistic vibe here. It feels like an art studio more than the usual sterile/contemporary modern co-working space.

Myself and my company have had a fantastic time staying with Shared and Marilyn. She is a fabulous host and her place is great, as well as unreasonably well priced!! Highly recommended. read more

Shared is a premium coworking space. Location: Near freeways, public transport, parking lots with easy access to downtown and south of market. There are plenty of options nearby for food and supplies. This is close to everything without being overrun with tourists and brocoders. Being south of market means there are occasionally troubled homeless around or floods of Giants fans, but this is more entertaining than problematic. Facilities: Pleasant and bright functional spaces with an industrial look, good light and temperature control. The desk/tables and chairs are all adjustable, functional, and comfortable. Net access through WiFi is solid and there is a net connected printer. The place is well kept and managed with a pleasant and positivce attitude. Mostly the place gets modest use and is usually relatively peaceful even when busiest during business hours, but occasionally more members are present and busy and it can get relatively crowded and noisy. People: Shared attracts a broad range of folks with multiple interests. There are dot commers in the mix, but a lot more than only tech going on. Lots of people are doing all kinds of things here, there are monthly classes and exhibitions and activities, so this is a great place to meet people and share new things. That said, if what you really want is a technology hot house this might not be the best match because there are other coworking spaces around that are are more focused on technology. Prices: Memberships are competitively priced. This place doesn't set members up with venture capital, but might be a good enough value to make that unnecessary. read more

The space is great. The people are cool. Marilyn (owner and manager) is awesome. And the price is better than most coworking spaces around. Add it all up and you have a fantastic coworking space. It's not your typical tech space with tons of independent engineers and small teams, so if that's what you want, this isn't for you. But if you want a laid back place to get work done, with a more diverse set of people, definitely give SHARED a look. read more

Shared is an absolutely rare gem in the city. Please take a tour if you are looking for a space to make work or design outside of the small confines of your living quarters. This is basically your office in a wide open studio space with your locker. Marilyn, the person you need to speak with, she always maintains the office, kitchen and bathroom tidy and clean. She is super nice and I recommend checking out the space and speaking with her. read more

SHARED is exactly how it sounds; a shared, communal workplace with a emphasis on community. Being an apparel designer, it's rather difficult to find a shared office space in the city that caters to my profession. The first time i entered this beautiful building a year ago, I became enthralled that the space had a dedicated sewing station, complete with an industrial sewing machine, pattern cutting table, industrial dress form, as well as a commercial serger. The owner, Marilyn, is as friendly and helpful as it gets. Being an apparel designer herself, it was great to bounce ideas and questions off her and get a real and honest answer. If you are an artist looking for a quiet, clean workplace with flexible hours, this is the place for you. Don't trust me? Then go schedule an appointment and let Marilyn show you where your prospective creation could reside. read more

I spent two months trying out many different co working spaces in San Francisco, and finally chose shared. The upstairs co working space is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and completely luminous. I mainly chose it because the amazing light, windows, and skylights. A comfortable, quiet, friendly place to work. read more

Shared is a great place to get work done. Highly recommend it for folks working on a startup at nights that just need a quiet place to focus, sit, and get fast Internet. Their night shift is a good price and is 6pm-2am (also includes all day Sat & Sun). read more

SHARED ROCKS! Had avenue partner back out the night before an important event. I was in panic mode when I stumbled across SHARED. Marilyn responded back almost immediately with a very clear and detailed explanation on how the space works. She provided chairs, projector, everything we needed to make the event a success. So beyond thankful for Marilyn and Co! Amazing space with even more amazing people. Would definetly recommend! read more

Shared is awesome! We were looking for a quiet, clean space for our team and we stumbled upon Shared. Marilyn has been more than helpful in getting everything setup for us and is an excellent communicator! The space itself it awesome. It's got a very good vibe, it's clean, friendly and our team was extremely happy with the experience. Additionally, we were going to be moving to a new office but construction was delayed for a week. On a SUPER short notice we asked Marilyn if we could stay there for an additional week. We talked through the details and she came through for us. That takes a HUGE stress off my shoulders on what the heck I was going to do with an engineering team for a week. Thank you so much Marilyn for all your hard work and dedication! I'd recommend Shared SF for any and all of your coworking space needs! read more

SHARED is really great. I'm pretty quiet and don't talk to strangers much but the people I meet at SHARED are friendly and incredibly approachable. Many of them are different from your typical San Francisco techie (which I am) so it's really awesome to get to know a diverse range of people, including artists, designers, photographers, musicians, writers, startup folks, etc. Marilyn (who owns the space) is super friendly too, and she has a kickass weekly group sewing lesson that is only $20 for 3 hours (or $15 if you buy 3 at a time, or are a SHARED member). This is dirt cheap since she is super helpful, knowledgeable, has been sewing for decade, and has her own made-to-wear line. The classes are usually limited to 3-4 people, so she always has time to help every person. I come here all the time and there's always lots of space available! read more

After several years of dealing with the dust, dirt, and desolation of another large studio space in the Mission, I was lucky to find SHARED, and I am a huge fan of the place. It's not only clean, it's also thoughtfully laid out, Marilyn is super friendly and helpful, and it's got loads of possibilities! As a freelance artist/illustrator I love that there's space for me to do my digital work as well as messier studio stuff. It's great having a clean kitchen to eat and nice people to talk to when you take a break. The price for my weekday membership is very reasonable and it's so nice that we have a conference room available as well. I hesitate to give away the secret of this hidden gem, but Marilyn really deserves some kudos for putting together such a wonderful place for creative people to work and play! read more

(Unsolicited) In my experience, the sure sign of a well-run, quality establishment is building maintenance. Some places build new and allow things to get in disrepair - the paint fades, broken lights not replaced, etc. Well-run places stay on top of that stuff. If the wall gets scratched, it's fixed. Painting is done regularly, etc. This week, Marilyn had contractors helping with upkeep work. Some of the walls have been repainted, worn out sections of the wood floor have been re-varnished, etc. Even though the place is still pretty new and looks nice, regular maintenance is still being performed. read more

Pros: Convenient location. Cons: Flies, infrequent cleaning of shared desk space.

I worked out of SHARED this summer. Great community, owner (Marilyn), and building. Very conducive for getting work done in good company.

Been working here for a few months now and am still loving it. It hits all my high points: very few interruptions come from the space, WiFi is fast, there's a FULL kitchen with stove for preparing lunches, snacks and beverages available for purchase, and chat rooms for quick phone calls. I also really value the community feel Marilyn, the owner, has cultivated. There are few written rules with the understanding being: respect each other and we'll all be just fine. The best part is that it works! Thank you, Marilyn and SHARED! read more

Love this space. Found it because a friend recommend it to me. The owner, Marily, is a great manager, acts fast on inquiries and requests and really has done a GREAT job on putting this great / creative space together. I love working from here and it is also a great place to network with other people in my industry. I also love the fac that they have a Quiet Zone as well as a zone where you can talk and collaborate. ...and of course there are meeting rooms there as well. I can HIGHLY recommend this space. Cheers. Alf ;-) read more

This is a great place to work. It's got options: (quiet, sunny upstairs, conference room, more sociable downstairs), and Marilyn, the proprietor, is very accommodating to various needs (for instance, she said I could practice my violin in the space provided nobody else minds, and I've done it a few times). I have to mention the great granola and yogurt she makes too, sold at a nominal price! read more

I needed a space for some meetings that had to happen away from a main office. SHARED was available and Marilyn was extremely accommodating. Lucky me. This turned out to be a really wonderful and friendly space and a very good place to work. I decided to stay and now spend a day or so a week there. It's quiet without feeling dull and everyone I've met there is interesting. As someone else has said in a review, it's not the typical I'm-building-another-consumer-app frenetic place filled with marketeers and engineers. Great location, the upstairs area is full of great light, good conference room space, and there is a nice large bike rack out front. The work spaces with art, apparel and even furniture building make this place feel much more grounded and interesting than the other places I've seen. Highly recommended. read more

I'm truly thankful for having found this awesome space in the heart of the the city. Not only is it clean and well equipped, but it also has a great atmosphere with fantastic people. I was looking for a work space to manage my part time study and i happen to identify shared SF on Google, the very immediate moment i contacted Marilyn over the email. Marilyn is very professional and very fast at clarifying your questions over email or phone. She gave me a detailed tour of the work place...I very much liked and it worked out very well for me. I am on this very very reasonably priced flexible plan that i work here only in the evenings and weekends for my projects & assignments in Graduate program... Work space, Kitchen and rest rooms are all very clean !!! Individual locker is a great advantage !!! It is been just a month, but I met great minds in programming, gaming, UX and content team at Shared !!!, I greatly appreciate Shared SF and Marilyn for this opportunity !!! read more
