The concept of battle of the decades is great too! Each hour is a different decade of music,starting with the 60's. I spent a few hours dancing from 60's-80's music until about 8pm (perfect for an old millennial like me) until the place filled up. Totally great night at Monroe. Kimpton Alton is located steps away from Fisherman's Wharf, and we walked and took streetcars to get around the city.
