Wendys used to be a place for quality food and good service. Those days are long gone. Now the staff is more interested in texting and having loud personal conversations than providing service. This was the most disgusting place I've ever eaten at and I would have left except I had a hangry wife, two ravenous teens and a dog that needed a patio table. We got one off the three outside tables but a homeless man had set up an entire camp at the other two tables. Slow, poorly trained employees precook the food. Order your burger "custom" and pray you don't get some old precooked meat patty. I had the drive thru staff argue with me about what I ordered and they tried to give me a pre-prepared burger with everything on it. When I wouldn't agree, they told me to pull over. Just stopped to go through Drive Thru at Wendy's on 4521 Macey Lane, on Rt 27 in Lakes Wales, next to Home Depot, and being 66 years old, with myself and many family/friends in the food industry (about even between fast food and sit down dining), this was easily the WORST service & foidbInhave even received. The fries were over cooked to the point that they crunched like crackers, and were barely Warm. Also my 10 piece Chicken Nuggets were tepid at best, and had 2 spicy nuggets buried in the bottom. Fries got thrown out, as did most the Nuggets. Had to go to Hardee's for a legitimate meal. NEVER go there people. ONE STAR is 1 too many!! read more

Use to be a big Wendy's fan a decade ago. I almost exclusively have burgers and the sort at more specialty places. That said, I still enjoy Frosty's. I still on occasion will pull off and get one, with fries. Today was such the case, and I could not eat the fries. They had a terrible aftertaste, like they had been deep fried in something not tasting like oil. This has not been the first time I have experienced this at a Wendy's. This place needs new management - the drive thru speaker was not working and they had a line around the building - now in my management days i would've sent someone outside to take orders or at least had someone at the 1st window ... did they do that you ask.. why no they DID NOT - you had to wait till you got to the 2nd window, give your order, pay and then wait till they filled your order - how can you NOT make use of your other window? how?? Perhaps the worst Wendy's in America there Frosties were not available in chocolate so they tried to give us a vanilla one the drive-through line was seven cars long and didn't move in five minutes, we ended up going in when we went in there was no one at the counter, when we told them the line was not moving they said really yes really they didn't care they had no napkins so they gave us pieces all of paper towel. The place to go for fast food in Lake Wales. Service is always quick. Order is always correct. I visit here on a weekly basis and find it funny that the cashier inside knows my mother by name just because of how often my mom stops in for her burger and senior drink.
