First time customer. Ordered via their app and did an in-store pickup. The app was very usable and I easily made my selections and breezed through the checkout. Order was ready when I arrived except for a shake that they wanted to make when I got there. Pretty excited when they gave me the shake with a real shake straw. I should have checked the order as the sauces were omitted but they were on the receipt. The rest of the order was accurate. The food was average. First impression is that there are better choices in our area. read more

It's so nice to see new businesses opening in lake wales. We decided to eat inside but the drive through was busy. There is a nice outside covered patio. The staff were really nice. The place was clean. There were busy inside as well and it was nice to see that staff stayed on top of the table to keep the place clean. The food. What can I say it was ok. Menu is extensive. Great food. Tenders and wings are on offer. My fave is "5 & 5". Sides are incredibly delicious. Endless sauce options. Great place to bring a picky eater. I haven't tried dessert. I'm not one to leave bad reviews. I hate saying bad things about businesses, especially new/small ones... But do NOT come here.. Here are all the issues I had with Slim Chickens. 1. The food is extremely mediocre. It was dry, not seasoned, and overcooked. You might as well go to zaxbys (for a better price and food) 2. The chicken tenders are EXTREMELY tiny... no joke 3. The customer service was HORRIBLE, to say the least. I had a pick up order, and I was standing in line for 5 minutes, and all of the workers just stared at me. Or they were laughing amongst themselves. Mind you... They already helped 2 customers in front of me... 4. There was a strand of hair in my food 5. The location on the website and the app is wrong. It brings you to the middle of NOWHERE 5 minutes down the road... Side note: It's actually really nice looking on the outside and inside. read more

My husband and I tried this relatively new location for lunch yesterday. We were greeting with smiling faces who offered recommendations. We both ordered chicken tenders and fries and it came with Texas Toast. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The inside was nice and clean. They have a drive thru. We tried the honey BBQ sauce and the honey mustard for dipping but they have like a dozen or more choices to pick from. We recommend. read more

We picked Slim Chickens because we like to try new places, especially new chicken places, so we came here and unfortunately won't be back. Why I didn't see it coming when it took exactly 3 minutes for my food to come out from the time that I ordered it, that the wings would not only be undercooked, but old as well. Guess we must've been too close to closing time? God I hope that's why and not the norm. I won't be returning and I can't recommend it to anyone but if you do decide to go, I would recommend going earlier than an hour and a half before closing then maybe you'll have a better experience than we did. read more

Customer service is on it, food comes out hot and they have Coke products which is a huge plus. Haven't had the pleasure of going inside yet but seems really nice on the outside. *Quick update, Definitely order from the right line, definitely hit or miss with service as children run the asylum. Got in line as before waited forever, finally ordered our food and it's definitely not worth the price. Overcooked and seems to continue to go downhill like Freddy's. Is it just the area or me? We love Slim Chickens and we were very excited to see it coming to Lake Wales, We stoped in today and we were very disappointed! They only have two registers both were moving very slow that the line was backing up outside. Half the tables were taken up by employees and the other half were very dirty. We will never go back to this location again. read more

I ordered a chicken sandwich only not a meal and I got a water she charged me for a meal ! My husband ordered a meal and asked for a water cup she asked if he wanted to substitute the milkshake and just have an extra charge he said yes . She charged him for the milkshake and kept the drink charge in his meal but all he wanted was water ! Then she said water costs ! He tried to tell her I didn't want French fries or a drink that I didn't order that and she said yes she did !!!!! I threw the fries away because I didn't want them and I drank water ! Ordered online. They forgot to pack some mac and cheese, not a huge deal but we didn't notice until we left. The manager insisted that they would not refund the Mac and cheese unless we came back. We were already 30 mins away so this wasn't an option for us. They need to pay more attention packing orders, and have a better process to manage issues with orders, especially because their location is quite out of the way. Food was good, but not overwhelming. Honestly there food was super good, i had gotten the chicken and waffles the chick was soft and the waffles where AMAZING, we also got the fried mushrooms which where super yummy as well as the fried pickles. A small tub of Ken's tartar sauce was included. The cinnamon butter and sweet potato made an excellent combination and a great foil for the grouper. Everything was piping hot when it arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to order this combination again. My husband enjoyed his linguine. Given it was about an hour between when we were seated and when the entrées arrived, we thought the pace was rather slow. But the quality and quantity of food made up for it in my opinion.

Staff delivers food to the table once it is prepared. We shared a Vegan Chickpea Salad Sandwich with a Mozzarella Caprese Salad. The sandwich was served on toasted panini bread with a scoop of chickpea salad, lettuce, and tomato. They were busy with an after bell tower concert crowd, but the service was efficient and timely. I enjoyed the meal and recommend it to visitors.

The menu has a variety of food options to suit just about anyone from salads, sandwiches and baskets (chicken strips, grouper) and more. There are desserts as well as hard packed ice cream and coffee options including lattes and such. Bok Tower membership gives you a 10% discount and tipping is optional. Staff were very efficient and friendly and the dining area was clean. Beverage options included bottled drinks as well as fountain drinks. We were a group of 4 with a walker and a wheelchair, there was no real extra space for mobility devices but since most people were seated outside and we were indoors we were able to park the devices at the table next to us out of the way. I had the Avocado and Tuna salad (minus tomatoes) it comes with a nice vinaigrette, it was fresh and tasty with a nice portion of tuna salad atop the greens. The rest of my family had grouper bite basket with fries, smoked turkey and Gouda sandwich with chips, and the ham and Gruyère sandwich with upgrade to fries ( the sandwich was pressed panini style). Everyone enjoyed the choices and were satisfied with the portions. Most menu items seemed to be in the $15 range, our bill including 2 fountain drinks after discount and tip was just shy of $80. To go boxes are available if needed and they have disposable utensils. All and all a lovely meal.

A tad greasy, but delicious. I chose mashed potatoes instead of fries. The brown gravy was hot and went well with the potatoes. For dessert, we shared a slice of coconut cream pie. A little bit artificial, but just enough sweetness to satisfy. Between home style food, decent prices, and very nice staff, we decided we'd definitely be coming here again in the future.

Very disappointed with the poor service of the drivetru employee and I asked her for my sauce for my wings and she told me that she would charge me $.035 and I told her that that came with each order and she gave me a bad attitude and made an out of place comment But with all that I continued on my way to my house to eat in peace when I arrived at my house 10 minutes from where the restaurant was and she had the wrong food from another customer but I also went to complain directly to the Manager TJ and he treated me coldly and I explained everything that happened and he told me that she had done it several times with another client and yet she continues working in the same place and giving bad service to the public but the manager TJ gave me the order again according to how I asked for it and according to how it appeared on my receipt but not even a detail of thanks and apology but that doesn't matter but there you have to treat the customer well and make them 100% satisfied and what you pay is for the quality and the Good service at this restaurant Slim Chickens Lake Wales store # 5505 The service is lacking, what a shame it started very well and ended badly. They should improve their service. I'll think about whether I go back to eat there again.
