My daughter and I had burgers that melted in your mouth (she even got hers on Texas toast!) my son got a burrito the size of his arm and enjoyed it so much he ordered another, my husband got beef brisket tacos and pulled pork tacos and they FILLED. They were genuinely happy to feed our family, and for all four of us to eat it was only $60! I would tell you about the Mac and cheese but I had to bring it home because I was stuffed. Thank you guys and we will be seeing you again, if my husband and son have their way, it'll be tomorrow! We wish you guys all of the best

We had the purple cow wings that are the greatest thing ever. We had a loaded pizza that was to die for, and we had mozzarella sticks served with a raspberry dipping sauce. I raved over every bite! The beer was ice cold and the red wine was great! The service was second to none. Great bartender was serving us at the bar. We will go back often! Thank you all.

The inside is homey, with a lot of little things hung around to look at. The single waitress running the lunch hour was delightful. She worked quickly and never skipped a beat. You could tell the other patrons here were regulars, since I didn't even hear them place an order, but their lunch was set down in front of them. The special board had great deals. The baskets came with fries and slaw, for $7.99. Great deal. This place is known for their hotdogs and burgers, but I wasn't in the mood for that, next time! I opted for the chicken wing wrap with no sides. It was SO fresh. It was filled with crispy chicken bites coated in a really good buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato and blue cheese. I really enjoyed it. The wrap itself was super good and soft and fresh as well. The meal was quick, cheap and homey. I'll certainly be back next time I forget lunch at work.

Point to be made, it was NOT crowded, a table of 3 in the backroom and then the 2 of us, so for the time we waited was kind of strange. Food should have been better. Good milkshake.

The exterior is simple & unassuming, and inside is clean, efficiently laid out, and decorated with lake & water sports themes. Both the daily specials and menu creatively stepped outside the norm, with a few items leaning into BBQ & Mexican. I finally decided to go early lunch & chose brisket tacos - yum! Ingredients seemed fresh and portions were impressive. All were happy (see pics) - we'll be back. Service was OK & a bit inattentive, even after the breakfast crowd subsided, so I can't go 5 stars. You went to this place for the ice cream, and food was always an afterthought, but you always got both. Another reviewer nailed it--you bought the tradition of the place and it's sad that a burger that is twice as expensive as others I had bought there tastes WORSE. The ice cream is no longer made there and they are moving away from everything Cappies was. If you are looking to visit this place and expecting to experience it how it was, do not go. They want to be a village diner now, not a drive-in. I understand that with new owners we should expect change but with change (and the prices) you'd think it would at least be good food. The burger had been gross and overpriced.
