Bad service sat there my entire half hour lunch waiting for Fry's that have been sitting in the warmer for at least a good 2 hours and a sandwich that looks like it had been burnt and then shoved in a fucking microwave for 30 seconds just so they can rewarm up the melted cheese I am so disappointed in this place I'll never ever ever ever ever ever again have a lots and judgment and go to a Wendy's ever again read more

Hello Express Drive~Thru is a perfect way to get your Windy's Burger On...It has been a Long time and Just Happend to be Starving at Manards across the street. Soo I took the turn and sped thru the Fast Lane to get me Windy's Classic Double ~no onion~ Small fry and Small pop combo and it was still one delicious burger...the kicker was a free browney sundae yummy. Forgot the Frosty. Had to eat that in the parking lot...hot day, now a side note; they serve breakfast now and just yesterday I swang thru the Exptess Drive~Thru Again and the sammies are delicious too... Get the Maple Bacon Chicken for flavor not size, minus one star! but the real winner is the Breakfast Baconator; big egg, big cheese, big bacon, and big sausage pattie, on perfect bun. Note picture of Express Drive~Thru at lunch and at breakfast nUice exterior design to keep your mind off "wears my food" ta~da Windy gots it at the Window!!! read more

Ordered two 10 piece nuggets: one came with 8 pieces, the other came with 9. That's all I have to say.l about this location. read more

Got a double cheese meal, and the highlight was the over-salted fries. Ate half of burger and threw it away. The burger tasted like over cooked meat with government cheese...no condiments present! I would look the other way if looking for meal options unless you are starving and all other options are gone. I would rather have a T.V. dinner out of the frozen section at your local grocery store!!! This must be a one-off because they are still in business. Be cautious if ordering from this location, and any others. i just cannot believe I wasted my hard earned money............here! read more

My chicken nuggets were hard my burger patty was rubber and my frys were ice cold never ordering here again read more

Wendy's - a picture of a cat sticking its tongue out - Fast Food Near Me - Des Moines, Iowa

Absolute joke of an establishment and always has been. After not visiting this place for a year and a half because of how terribly slow they take, so decided I'd give it another go. Same exact result. But the main problem is.. it's not like they're McDonald's with 20 cars in the drive thru. There's literally TWO CARS in the drive thru. And they take 20 minutes.. it's so mysterious how they can be so inept. Now if you're a poorly managed business that's only able to operate at a snails pace, chances are I'm not gonna leave a bad yelp review. You just have a lazy staff. But this most recent time was absolutely ridiculous. After waiting literally 10 minutes with only 1 car in front of me.. just to get to the window to PLACE my order.. I'm immediately told they only take cash and will that be a problem. Will that be a problem? Um yes, actually it will. You see it's 2021 and I don't carry cash around. This would have been GREAT to have been informed about prior to waiting all that time. There really is no excuse that someone couldn't just tape a piece of paper on one of the signs that says CASH ONLY. read more

Stopped in at 7pm with wife. She ordered Taco salad and was advised that no one had prepared them for the day. It's 7pm and no salads were available all days? Apparently the salad tech was sick that day. Beyond belief that no one can step up prepare salads. Guess I'm asking too much. read more

This store has ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE service! An online order was input for a 20 minute in store pickup and they have already locked their lobby doors! I was FORCED to get in the drive through because NO ONE could/would bring the order to the door. They also said it was not even ready! This store has been this terrible for over 3 years and SHOULD BE FORCED TO CLOSE!!! Avoid this and ALL WENDYS!!! The same POOR customer service happened on the SW 9th location in Des Moines IA!!! PS: The drive through took another 45 minutes to het me the food!!! read more

If I could, I'd give this certain Wendy's a zero. I just went through their drive through and they were all extremely rude and acted like they didn't want to be there. Never have any problem with their food just customer service. read more

My burger tasted like straight charcoal bruh. The customer service was trashhhhh. slammed that drive through window. if you can't be nice working at wendy's, then don't work at a wendys. read more

Came for a salad. I was told they were out of salads. If it's in the menu, have it in store. I actually travelled to get it. If I could leave 0 stars I would. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. By far the worst drive thru experience I have ever had. I was in line for 17 minutes (before I even got to give my order) and when it was finally my turn I was asked to wait another 5 minutes. The service is slow, the food is mediocre, and this place is a waste of your time. read more

I am disappointed. Yesterday I ordered a 4 for $4, a $5 Biggie Bag, and a medium frosty. And after paying for my meal, I proceeded to the second window. And to my surprise, within 3 minutes my order was ready. They got everything right, and all the items were fresh! I am disappointed that I cannot rate this location higher than the 5 stars given! I would like to thank every employee at Wendy's in Des Moines on E. 14th Street in the southside, that helped me with my order. Keep up the good job! As for the 1 star, it's my disappointment that I cannot somehow thank or praise the workers that do their job right! And most folks are more likely to read the "juicy" exposes from the Karens and Chads around here. So, please get on it Yelp! read more

I have to hit these-Wendy's used to marketed as hot and juicy. Now this...and the others are lukewarm and dried out!!! Stopped here last week and was the only customer at 3PM in the place. No drive through traffic at the time.Three workers and still it took them 5 minutes to serve me a lukewarm dried out burger....a double. This is getting RIDICULOUS not being to get a HOT not dried out burger ANYWHERE! Almost....I say almost ALL the Wendy's and BK's...are getting to be the same! Why do we put up with it!....ok...stepping off my soapbox now read more

Here's the thing, I'm tired, moody, irritated from the rioting. Exhausted from covid. This review isn't based on that but I do have some time on my hands since we are in two lock downs . Anyways, I'm hungry though , so I give this Wendy's another shot. Spoiler alert, same shitty results. I'm giving multiple opportunities to places before i either dump a bag of "you suck", or "hey man, this is the bees knees". Either way, it's the what's up. What in the hell has happened to the Spicy Chicken sandwich ( it's the only thing I order). It has gone from a thick, juicy, fresh breast from the chicken blueprint gods to a sagging half shriveled up pathetic rubber duck. And shit, maybe it was duck, sewer duck. What questions my shock to the Olympic gold medal quality for fast food chicken sandwich's is, "here, it's fine, the picture is still the same, this is just how it works .." - and during the chicken sandwich fast food wars!? And who knew that would have been a thing, Popeyes closed nearby probably because angry mobs, we take this chicken business seriously. somehow Burger Kings Spicy chicken is putting the smack down on you guys, and really , they are the last fast food restaurant I lean towards , the employees are disgusting garbage dwelling looking people ( I said looking ) They could belong to glen oaks country club, I don't know. I will say the last visit to your establishment your employees looked surprising spiffed up. Take a business approach from Chick-fil-a, I don't necessarily need you to be the friendliest, shiniest, happiest mofo's in existence, only they can do that. I mix it up with the hood on occasion, it's all good. Just fix the damn sandwich. It's the one thing you can pick up from them, because theirs is always good. And yours once was too. Just don't fall down the rabbit hole to pig pen status, we already have to grit that from Burger King. Thanks. read more

This is a special place for me in Des Moines, because this is the VERY FIRST PLACE IN DES MOINES I HAVE EVER EATEN AT! (Unfortunately it wasn't somewhere exciting) Its Wendys, a fast food burger joint without countless locations across the nation or world. This one does not standout from the tons of locations I've been to. I always thought Wendys restaurants were cleaner and have better tasting food than BK and Mcdonalds. I've had no problems here, I like how they are open late. read more

Horrible service. Fries were tasteless, my frosty had bugs in it (gnats I think) and they got my drink wrong. Awesome.

I was impressed with the customer service -- very friendly & helpful. The food was fresh & the service was fast! What more could I ask for?!? Very pleased. read more

Unprofessional workers wouldn't take my order at the speaker and another customer pulled up yelling about cold food during the transaction we were in line for a total of 25 minutes waiting for "fast food". Also while waiting for food a customer got into an altercation with the manager and screamed stupid bitch as she pulled out of the lot, and after the manager having the interaction over cold food we got cold food and they forgot our drinks. On all parts it was the managers fault. read more

Just your average everyday Wendy's. Nothing exciting. The late hours are nice but they can be slow most of the time. Usually in line in the drive-through for a while. I haven't been in the building for years so I can't say anything about it. The menu continues to change with new and improved menu items which keeps things somewhat exciting. My boyfriend says the new spicy chicken sandwich is actually spicy- and he loves spicy food. read more

Service tends to be slow. The baconator and the chicken fillet sandwich are excellent. Fries are almost always hot too!

Horrible customer service. Last time I went here I had ordered hamburgers for my husband, my 3 kids and myself and a drink and 3 small frosted. I was first given a bag with 3 burgers in it which I had then passed back to my kids so they could start eating their food (drive thru line was long and slow) as I waited for my food which never came. I asked where the rest of my food, drink and small frostys were and he had no idea. Another woman came to the window and asked what drinks I was waiting on and got them for me but the other man came back and asked me to repeat my order to him (I was never given a receipt). I asked him what hamburgers he had just given me in the bag if he didnt know what I had ordered and what did I just pay for? he told me it was the wrong order and to give it back. I told him that my kids had already started eating and he got upset with ME for letting them eat an order that wasn't ours... excuse me? How am I supposed to know that these 3 hamburgers weren't the 3 I had just ordered? Horrible place. I have worked in fast food and am appalled by their customer service. If you mess up a customers order you apologize and correct the order, not blame the paying customer. Never again. I've had better service at the Wendy's location on 9th... read more
