This 4 star rating is for the pop machines. You have to love those crazy pop machines that have like a million flavors.

Saw this place passing by Cambridge and decided to stop by. I heard about the funnel cakes and…read morefresh burger patties, so why not? It's tucked in a small plaza - there are entrances at a few places so if you miss it, head to the lights, turn right and drive down to the back of the Dollar Store plaza to get to the Burger Factory. Initial thoughts, it looked clean. There is a hand sanitizer station at the entrance that no one seems to be using. Not the delivery guys, not the customers that walk in... a little concerning. There is a poster up for their daily specials, typically $1.00 off the regular priced burger. Not bad. 2 people ahead of me, no social distancing from the line up to order to the customers in the booths (slightly concerning). I felt bad for the people sitting around, but there is no indication of where to stand when waiting to order and waiting for your order. No limitations on how many can be in there. It took about 15 minutes of waiting to actually order. The juicy Lucy was on special so i ordered it and had my choice of toppings. Ordered also a chocolate shake. My friend ordered a funnel cake with ice cream, strawberries and whipping cream. Good to note is that each topping is extra $$. It's $6.99 for the funnel cake base. about $2.50 per topping on top of that. Half an hour of waiting before I get my order, separately. I got the funnel cake first. The funnel cake was fried fresh and crisp. Thick. But dry. So crisp that the melted ice cream and strawberry sauce did nothing to soften the cake up. It' wasn't the best funnel cake I've had, but it was ok to satisfy the craving. Halfway into the cake, my burger was ready for pick up. The burger is an average size. The patty was thick. I cut into it and the cheese oozed out. That was awesome. Patty was juicy and the toppings were fresh. This was actually a very very good burger. Chocolate milkshake was made about 10 minutes after picking up the burger. This was meh. Quite a disappointment actually. You taste the vanilla ice cream. no chocolate flavour. You can see it though, the hints of chocolate but I didn't think it was worth the 5.99 or whatever it was for a medium sized milk shake. Overall, burgers are fantastic. The funnel cake is an average one if you're really craving for it. I'd stay away from the milkshakes. Much better options elsewhere. Be weary though that they do a lot of skip the dishes orders. They grab food, put in bag. They usually come in without sanitizing... so slightly concerned there. The restaurant has a good number of employees working in their tight kitchen quarters. Booths don't get cleaned immediately. You would have to ask them to clean them for you when getting your food. Service was... well, they're nice people.

It's difficult to compare the two shawarma places because this one actually puts a bit of curry in their chicken shawarma wraps. The ingredients are simple, it wasn't soggy at the bottom. The chicken shawarma was 11.99 +tax, but with the bogo running on May 27-29 it was $6+tax. In comparison to Lazeez 7.99 chicken wrap, Ace was higher based on regular price. Ace also has a loyalty program. When you spend $1 you get 1 point. At 100 pts ($100 dollar of spending) you get $5. Lazeez Cambridge also has a loyalty program, when you spend on 9 shawarmas you get one free, which is 7.99x9=$72 to get a free 7.99 value wrap. So Lazeez has a superior program with a faster reward program. One difference you will notice is that Ace has almost a team of 10 people preparing orders and the orders come quite fast with a military supervisor calling it out and the kitchen is open concept but you cannot see someone crafting your order right in front of you...it's in the back. Lazeez has a 2-3 man team, one person being the supervisor who actively manages the shift and you make can watch your shawarma being crafted right in front for you. It's an interesting place and another food options. :)

It tasted ok and the toppings were fresh. The fries are a reasonably comparable to McDonald shoe string fries. The lot is actually pretty difficult to get into. I immediately added it to my bookmarks. Last summer, we met up in Cambridge at a local restaurant. I passed by this Fast Eddie's. My head turned. I then talked about it with my friend. She said that I had to visit it. I was too stuffed after lunch to even think about getting dinner from there. I never forgot about it. Recently, I have been enjoying driving over to the Waterloo region. It's nice during this lockdown to drive along highway 401 and not get stuck in traffic. I was at the Cambridge OnRoute rest stop and felt like grabbing a bite to eat. I didn't feel like Burger King. Fast Eddie's came to mind. Yay! I drove over there, which is perhaps a five-minute drive from the rest stop. Double that time if you don't have a lead foot. I was about the turn right to pull into the parking lot, but a car decided to position itself in the middle of what would have been for him to exit and me to enter. Ugh! On a happier note, I drove around the block and spotted a Hakka restaurant. I added yet another bookmark. I finally pulled into the parking lot. You have the option of hitting the walk-up window to place your order (so cool!) or going through the drive-thru. I did the latter. There were perhaps two cars ahead of me. There was a lot to look at on the menu. What should I get? I went with the double burger works. I made it a combo with fries and a Diet Pepsi. I looked at the milkshakes and thought about ordering it, but I wasn't feeling it. Next time! My combo was just under $9. That's pretty good. Debit cards are preferred, although it does accept any tap method. The man at the window opened it halfway and brought out the machine. I paid with my debit card. Easy peasy! Moments later, I got my drink and food. I thanked him. He wasn't friendly. He wasn't mean. It almost felt like he wanted to get through his shift without getting COVID-19. I drove down the street to the parking lot with HomeSense. I had been there last summer and knew that it would be the perfect place to chow down in my car. It was! I normally don't enjoy ordering fries as my side. There are exceptions. I had a single fry and the salt on it felt like it was dancing with my tastebuds. The fries are delicious here. They are crispy and taste so good hot out of the fryer. I had the whole thing and I now crave kicking them up a notch. The place has beef and pickle fries. It also has crazy fries that looks like there's melted cheese and other items, such as bacon. I want the bacon version. Yes, yes, yes! I had my double burger works. I'm so glad that I got it. It had two beef patties that are thinner than I had expected, but the flavour was amazing. I felt like I was eating a salad with protein in a bun. I needed it considering how I had inhaled my fries. The lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomatoes were so fresh. This burger had ketchup and mustard. I normally don't like mustard as a burger condiment, but I ate it all without scraping it off. I am a fan. I am now eyeing the steak cheese burger. I set goals that I know that I can achieve. My Diet Pepsi washed everything down. It wasn't watered down. It was just the way it should be. I will get a milkshake next time. I want the strawberry shortcake wild shake, but double chocolate sounds yummy, too. I do set milkshake goals, too. I will be back. There's so much that I want. Cheap eats. Delicious food. Happy me! (51)

Read the reviews, saw the postings... what can go wrong.... well let me tell you…read more Service was non-existent... there was only 1 other table in the whole restaurant and service was NON existent!!! Strike one... The food... the onion ring tower was... warm... doughy and seemed to be something frozen that was pre-packaged and someone forgot to read the instructions how to warm up and re-assemble... the kobe style wagyu burger had no taste... way over cooked and the bbq sauce was a little too much... as for the bun itself... kinda stale. The poutine... it appears the "too much" theme continues... the bbq brisket poutine comes with 2 different "gravies" the super vinegary brisket sauce and the brown gravy that had little to no taste... I should have just stuck to the regular fries and called it a day. The shake was proclaimed to be made from real ice cream... which I believe but "really cheap" ice cream to be exact... I should have taken my $50.00 gone to the keg and get a real meal with appetizers. Entree and dessert with change than an over glorified reheated frozen dinner... pass and save your money and aggravation.. piss poor service (non-existent) along with an over rated frozen TV dinner
