I'm not a big fast food guy, but hunger cravings hit hard and it was an incredibly windy, treacherous travel day with smoke and dust in the skies and crazy drives and I needed something quick. This Wendy's brought the goods. For one, they were quick! I found the service to be above and beyond, friendly, helpful, and left me feeling better than when I came in. The food is what it is, it's fast food adjoined to a gas station. That being said, the fries were hot, the chicken sandwich was well assembled, and it hit the spot for what I needed. I also thought the restaurant itself was clean and seemed to be in good shape despite a lunch rush. Again, it's a Wendy's and most experiences will be whatever they typically are, but in this case it helped me reset my energy on the road trip, and everything was a smidge better after stopping here. read more

Stopped at this location to get a bite to eat and to fill up the car. There's not a ton of choices when you get out on I-70 in the middle of MO. Mostly, McDonald's or Subway. I hadn't had Wendy's in forever and given the lack of options, this seemed liked the best bet. The restaurant is located in a gas station. The gas station itself is quite the place to look around and has its own food offerings, a Dunkin' Donuts express, and clean bathrooms so it's a decent place to stop. I went with a spicy chicken combo meal. If you've ever been to Wendy's, it's exactly what you'd expect. My fries were hot and crispy. My chicken had a nice amount of spice. My iced tea was refreshing. The service was ok, it was after the lunch rush so I think they were a bit worn out. But my food came out fast and hit the spot for this famished traveler. I have two complaints: The first is the cleanliness of the restaurant. The tables were quite dirty and no one was going around and wiping tables. I'm not surprised because it's a fast food restaurant, but still yuck. My second complaint is that they have ketchup dispenser but zero containers to put ketchup in. I observed people using the lids which didn't help with the cleanliness issues. Overall, I'd stop again to grab something quick. read more

This is located inside a truck stop/gas station, so in our experience, that usually means the quality is a little less than stand alone locations.... The food was ok, the service was ok (possibly a new guy on the register) and cleanliness was ok. My son and I experienced blatant racism when we walked in and a young man at the counter mumbled they were closed for 5-10 minutes and the entire staff walked from their stations to the a room at the side of the restaurant. A bit strange since I just saw a white man in front of me finish his order and sit down. My son and I are Black and stood there for a few minutes and saw the staff talking and on their phones while we stood there. When I started to take a video of one of them on their phone while at least 5 of them stood around and no one offered us service, he looked worried. We left without ordering and on our way out saw through the window that the staff was back at the counter serving another white man. We stopped last night for a quick bite. No chicken, no turkey, no catsup-was told to get some for the Petro connected they the breezeway I ordered a single combo with cheese and lemonade. First: charged extra for lemonade. Second: cheese wasn't even melted onto burger. Third: fries were cold and soggy. This place is 24/7 but they were turning customers away because they needed 15 minutes to "close out" the one register. Then, I saw them "cleaning". We often stop at the Pilot on our trips back and forth to St. Louis. The first time we ordered food at this Wendy's, both mine and my husband's orders were wrong. Not a huge deal, I'm a fairly forgiving person when it comes to this stuff. The second time we ordered, the wait was god awful long. As a fast food establishment, the whole purpose is efficient food on the go. We thought maybe it was a bad day, so we decided one more chance. HUGE MISTAKE. Another fast food chain with a missing communication link between those who take the order (with written instructions in black and white on the receipt and a screen) and the food preppers. Asked for a plain double burger and no cheese, and said no cheese so there would be no confusion saying plain. Received my double miles down the road with cheese and also didn't have sour cream or butter spread for my baked potato. Normally, I would give Wendy's about 4 stars for quality of food and friendliness. Unfortunately, my most recent experience at this location was less than that. Wendy's in my opinion, puts together one of the better fast food burgers, the lettuce and tomatoes are usually crisp and fresh, the natural cut fries are sprinkled with a generous amount of sea salt and overall, they have a great menu selection. So, always hating to go inside this busy corner truck-stop location, I go through the circular drive-thru that is almost impossible in my small sedan. I place my order over the loud hum and drone of big trucks and noisy cars. So, I drive about 15 minutes to stay at my friend's house and find that I have no lettuce or tomato on any of my sandwiches. Not happy, I called the store. Some young woman answered and after asking to speak to the manager, she identified herself as the shift manager. I explained that I paid almost $15 for 2 value meals and was quite certain that I had never instructed them to leave off the lettuce and/or tomatoes. The manager then goes on to explain that the restaurant had "ran out of lettuce and tomatoes and wouldn't get a truck in until 10:30." Really? Hmm, you might have mentioned that before I ordered since 95% of your sandwiches have lettuce and tomato pictured on the menu! I mentioned that a sign posted on the outside menu might be a helpful reminder. She continues to give me some spiel about how they were supposed to mention that to the customer before they order. By now, I'm thinking Arby's. The manager made absolutely no attempt to even try to remedy the situation, by offering me another sandwich or an alternate item. Really, Wendy's you should just know better. Customers expect and deserve better. I didn't even get what I paid for..... How hard it could have been to get a few dollars out of the drawer and drive to the local grocery store and get a few heads of lettuce and tomatoes? read more

We ate at this Wendy's on 15 April 2016 at about 2:30 PM. There were only one or two customers in the restaurant and no one in line. Our order was taken right away and our food was ready in a few minutes. Food was typical Wendy's taste/quality. Restaurant was clean. Staff was pleasant, but not engaging. The service was horrible, they never refilled the ketchup the entire time were were there, they regular lemonade was one of their specialties even though it's not and she told me they could not refill it even though they can at any other Wendy's, and she went out to refill the straws even though the straw container was already full. I would not recommend this Wendy's. I travel between Columbia and Boonville often for work, and have eaten here twice. I first time I tried it i was not happy. Since I'm a fan of Wendy's, I gave them another shot. Not happy again. It seemed like they just prepare burgers in bulk and let them sit on the grill. The meat is dry and the sandwich is just thrown together. I got my order quickly, but I would have gladly waited for meat that wasn't dry and a burger that wasn't sloppy. My wife often will get a salad when we go to Wendy's because she is in a battle against carbs. When she got her salad, it looked like it had been through a meat grinder. The lettuce was smashed into little pieces and brown. When paying $6 for a salad you expect more. Sad thing is, we will stop at Wendy's in Columbia just 20 minutes away and it's a night and day difference. read more

Under no circumstance should a line of customers in a fast food restaurant have to wait 15 minutes to make an order, wait again to get their food, and then discover the condiment table to be completely empty. Even in the busiest of hours is it not acceptable (albeit slightly more understandable) but at 2pm on a holiday, it just reeks of bad management. But the real kicker for me was the man who waited forever for a burger and a 10 piece nugget, only to have the burger not get made at all. So while they made the burger, his 10 piece nugget gets put on someone else's tray, and of course his order was to go, so minutes after he leaves the crew is running around trying to figure out who this other 10 piece nugget belongs to. Apparently the 5 times the man repeated his order, plus the three times he told the manager what he was waiting on all led up to this man not getting half of his two item order. Ridiculous. So glad I was only passing thru on my way back to STL from KC. If I had to go thru this for a Baconator I would never get one again! read more

Although this place is not a culinary delight and a dietician's nightmare, to me it was clean, the service good and the food was hot. This is a good place for a quick meal and with a bonus of additional shopping in the same building. Of all the quick food places, Wendy's is only surpassed by Chick-fil-a.
