I am writing to formally complain about a very disappointing experience at the Popeyes Chicken location in Fairview Heights on December 23, 2024. I arrived at approximately 7:16 p.m. and placed my order with a manager wearing a green shirt, as no one was standing at the counter. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a Pepsi using a code. The person I was with ordered chicken tenders and fries. After waiting until approximately 7:40 p.m., I approached the counter to ask about my order. The manager on duty stated that they had not had chicken all day and asked who had taken the order. I informed her it was the manager wearing the green shirt. I finally received a refund however the ticket read classic chicken sandwich with potatoes and gravy and a Pepsi. Again I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, fries and a Pepsi. At that time, my companion was still waiting for his food. When he finally received it and began eating, the chicken tenders were old and dried out, and the fries were cold. While we were still in the restaurant, the manager was yelling at the crew behind the counter, stating they needed a better system and should be serving customers in the order they arrive. Despite ordering earlier, at least six other customers received their food before we did. This experience raised serious concerns regarding customer service, order accuracy, and food quality. I am also concerned about food safety given the condition of the food served. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this location. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Hate that Chicken from Popeyes. read more

I'm not sure where to start, so. I'll start at the beginning. The staff were friendly, even came outside & warned us that a guy was on the floor blocking the line, after passing out from low blood sugar... now, as sensible people, we should have left at that very moment but we're not sensible. As we approach to offer help with lifting the fellow off the floor, the rest of our party orders - as a guy darts inside and defecates on the floor. I wish I was kidding. Now we've got the guy on the floor and several piles of feces. Of course, it makes sense to deal with the medical emergency first - only, nobody is, except patrons. Still, the door remained unlocked for other people to trickle in, tracking the semi-solid waste, that remained on the floor for far longer than it should have, throughout the place. On leaving, the ambulance had come and taken the fellow who was down, presumably to a hospital, & the floor still wasn't cleaned, though a bottle of cleaning solution had been poured on the mess to create a poop soup. Up side, my father enjoyed his chili. That said, none of the rest of us enjoyed anything about this experience. The chili cheese fries were cold, soggy, short on cheese - overall, just plain nasty. Got my food there in an orderly fashion and the manager tells me that I am going to die. And it is very unusual how all the spicy ghost pepper chicken bites (even though I know the real name of them and people there find it racist to call them that when it is on their actual menu board) and every time I go there all the manager staff and employees know me by getting those spicy ghost pepper chicken nuggets and put something in the sauce that is too sweet that dilutes whatever tampering they do to not only my food but everyone that refers to these Chicken Nuggets as such. I was really looking forward to their breakfasts and maybe today was just an off day. I ordered the sausage, egg and Swiss cheese croissant. The croissant appears to be a small hamburger bun. The egg while, yes, it freshly cracked, there was egg shell in it and the cook apparently loves pepper to the point it was almost uneatable. Sausage was just meh! I hadn't had Wendy's for breakfast in a long time so I swung through and grabbed 2 egg and cheese biscuits while heading home from my trip to Walmart. There was no wait in the drive through and my food was ready very quickly. The biscuits were super delicious and buttery. Nice fresh eggs. Friendly staff. It is usually dirty inside. this particular night, I did not want a lot to eat before class so I ordered 2 jr cheeseburgers and a drink. when I pull to the pay window the guy is kind of snickering. I live within walking distance of this place and have eaten here twice in 6 years. The dining room was dirty and the employees are slower than dial up. I recently went back because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never again. They kid doing the drive through couldn't get my order correct and kept laughing while on the speaker. I had to repeat myself FOUR times because this kid found something funny. Where's the management? If I could give zero stars I would. I did a phone app order last night at 7pm and was charged through my bank for said order. Drove to the store to pick up the order only to be met by a homemade sign taped to the ordering speaker that said "we are closed". I drove to the 1st window and couldn't get anyone....drove to the 2nd window and got waved off by a guy saying closed, closed, closed....I said but I ordered on my phone and was already charged. He said you won't be charged...ummmm it's already been taken out of my account. He said well we are out of food. Ok but what about my money? He was so rude and kept saying you won't be charged. I drove off before I really snapped. I called cooperate Wendy's today and was waiting for one hour and 40 minutes to speak to someone. She looked it up and yes I was charged but it's being reversed and I should have my money back in a couple of days! Dang....I loved Wendy's! No more for me! If there is a zero star rating, I would slap it on this company several times. I have given up going to this place which is a shame cause I love Wendy's food and this is close to my home. I will travel further out of my way to another Wendy's if I desire a double burger. But, allow me to explain my utter bitterness towards this particular location which is by Lowe's and across from Belleville SWIC college. So I go out with my wife and decided on Wendy's for a quick meal. Mind you that this location is boarded up due to vandalism and should have been a clue not to patronize. Plus, the fact that their employees are no where near the excellent employees that Chick-fil-a or starbucks employ. This place do not seem to train their people properly. Here is why I say this! Today i drive up to the order box and this girl attendant comes on and says "to hold on". We waited and she forgets to turn off the speaker. We could hear her talking to the other employees. No big deal! Kinda funny! She comes back on and takes our order which we clearly stated specifically #1 double x's two with coke and no ice. The second mistake on their end was taking my money and not giving me a receipt or even offered. Again, no big deal so moved on to the pickup window where I was not greeted at all. A girl hands me a paper bag which was only one order of the #1. I said I ordered two doubles. The girl just mention to the other employee as if she had no idea that I order two. Do these people not know their job because we were the only customers at the time. Not like there was a line of cars. The drink that I said no ice came to us full of ice. We get home and the double was a single patty. So restaurant stole from us by accepting our money for products that we did not order and was less value. Everything that a fast food place can mess up on, this place did in one order. One mistake! Fine! But the whole thing was done poorly. From the lack of greeting to the service, this place hit bottom. It is no wonder that Wendy's has filed bankruptcy. I saw in the news. Their employees know this so they don't seem to care about quality service. Never again will we patronize this establishment. I havent been to this location in about a month but I just downloaded this app. and my experiences have been so horrible i wanted to share. Before you ask i continued to come back because its close to home and convenient however Ive learned my lesson. The most recent situation my order was $11 and some change i payed with 5 dollars in cash $6 in cash and $6 in quarters to which the young girl slammed her window shut and assumed i could not hear her beging to complain and state "I hate these f******customers they are so f****** stupid". When she handed me my change i said you do realize i can hear you and she yelled "yeah okay and your point?." My husband went inside and asked to speak to a manger and the hourly manager asked what the problem was and he said no id like to speak to the general manager to which she lied and said i am the gm when her tag clearly stated otherwise. He just laughed because the whole time the rude girl from the window was yelling and cussing about stupid customers. He just left it wasnt worth it.
