He came power‑strutting across the room like he'd just been alerted to a moonshine sting operation, and announced in his best I-take-myself-extremely-seriously voice: "I can't let you in here with that. We could lose our liquor license. I can't prove you don't have alcohol in it." First of all, calm down, Barney Fife. That's only if you KNOWINGLY allow alcohol to be brought in. That's not a gray area, that's literally the law. It's also a 25‑second Google, but I guess that was too much to ask during his heroic crusade against the Dutch Bros Cartel. By that logic, you should also be confiscating baby bottles, sippy cups, and Capri Suns before they bring down your entire establishment. Anyhow, yes...restaurants can have whatever policies they want. Fine. Cool. Love that for them. My issue is the tone. The delivery. He tried to state there must be a mix up. The person again, aggressively and with loud voice enough to be embarrassing, said she stands behind her staff and it was him. I ended up standing up and next to her and between with my back to her, made a path so my dad could leave. She then said she didn't want us to come back. We (party of 6) left absolutely gobsmacked. Even when he asked the owner to have the staff that said he was a troublemaker to come over and identify him (so she could see that it wasn't him) she again loudly proclaimed she stands behind her staff. Again, totally bizarre. As an owner I can appreciate standing behind your staff, but have enough class and tact to realize they may not be correct and not alienate an elderly couple who have been in the neighborhood almost 30 years. Our family patronizes the grocery, dentist, and other services in the community . This unprofessional, borderline abusive behavior will not be forgotten. Forewarned is fair warned.
