Dr. Pinto has multiple patients with EDS, and puts in the time and effort to adjust her care for the ways the disorder impacts tooth and gum health. Finding my nerves for filling replacement has always been a trial for dentists. As is common in EDS, I go through anesthesetic quickly and variably depending on anaesthetic type and dose. I've worked closely with Dr. Pinto to figure out how to get me numbed up effectively. I also want to give a shout-out to her straightforwardness in working with patients with severe anxiety and depression. It's really common to have to expend precious energy reassuring medical professionals who are uncomfortable with the idea of depression/anxiety. (This is a significant boundary to medical care for folks dealing with these issues.) Not so with Dr. Pinto. Upon learning about the depth of my partner's profound depression/anxiety, all she had to say was "you're on meds? You're working with professionals? Good. So about your teeth..." And that was it. No pity, no fear, no need to manage her emotions and expectations. I feel this community should know about the not so great experiences, as well. My kids and I have been going to CSS since 2016. I joined their payment club. This means I and they received dental check ups, cleanings, and x-rays at a regular pace for 10 years. I recently had to have a tooth extracted because it rotted in my head. I am now paying thousands and enduring multiple procedures to have an implant placed. When the surgeon looked at my tooth, he could not believe that I had had "regular" dental care. He said he could fix the damage but that he strongly recommended (demanded) that I find a different dentist. So I did. At the new dentist, it was revealed that two fillings of one of my children were failing and had decay under them. These teeth had just been seen by CSS a month prior - no mention was made of this failing. This means my child could have also lost two adult teeth to untreated decay. All while I paid for the monthly club. In addition to this, over the years I have received a faulty mouthguard that had to be replaced, a crown that does not fit in my mouth correctly, and been sent to an oral surgeon for a consult on wisdom teeth that were more than two years from erupting.

She only had three reviews, but all were five stars and let's face it: this day and age people LOVE to complain, so I took these as genuine. I'm glad I trusted Yelp! They got me in right away, because I thought I had an abscessed tooth, which turned out to be sinus. (Thanks for the scare Dr. Google!) Be that as it may, the office staff were terrific-- polite, took their time, and I didn't have to submit DNA to get them to understand the insurance process. I ended up being cavity-free! Which I'm sure wasn't exciting, but Kim and Karen, were a joy to talk to and they were thorough. Their equipment is state of the art and their dental hygienist (sorry I forgot her name) did a fantastic cleaning job. They put a name to my bony growth I've had for years from teeth grinding and all in all gave me a terrific feeling that I can entrust my family and my own care in their capable hands for years to come.

Because of that last time, I was lucky to have found this dental office, so I knew just who to call. They got me in first thing the next morning! On this visit, Nancy was warm & friendly as she took an xray & cleaned off my crown. Dr. Libraty confirmed that my tooth underneath was fine, & the crown itself was fine. Whew! He explained that over time, crowns take a lot of pressure & the cement can detach after a while. Thankfully, he just adjusted my crown & re-cemented it in, & I was on my way. Between my first visit & this second visit, I have come to really appreciate the warm professionalism of everyone here.
