Warm, friendly environment. Not a lot of room inside for dining, but there is a few tables if you're not getting food to go. I think most people probably get their meals to take home, which is what I've usually done here. They have quite a large menu. Everything we've ordered has been pretty good and what was expected. The staff is friendly and they appreciate the business. We have ordered from here several times with groups of around 6 people and everyone has been happy with what they ordered. Located in a charming little shopping strip. The service is very friendly. Feels as if you're eating in your mom's kitchen. We had the blue cheese hamburger and the shrimp with peapods,both were outstanding. . The menu has a great selection, which includes Italian, Mexican and American The prices are very reasonable.. Lunch with hubs. My two ground beef tacos were huge and delish! Well seasoned meat, yummy salsa and topped with generous dollop of sour cream. Disappointed that chips were flour. Could only eat one taco with at least 5 oz of beef on each. But, the ground beef was lukewarm, prefer nice and hot. Hubs liked the fish, really enough for two with 5 big pieces. French fries hot and again, plentiful. I found the fish tasty but prefer a tad less batter. Took a few bites and found more coating than fish. And friendly, friendly. Cook, owner and waitress/cashier interacted with customers with a cheerful tone and smile. But here is the problem. Hubs used the restroom and warned me not to go in there: dirty and the smell was beyond disgusting. This for me is a dealbreaker. I don't know how they do it. Fish and chips for me 3 times. 5 star. Chicken Piccata for my hubs 2 weeks ago and Kung Pao chicken and fried rice tonight. Outstanding! Whether it's fish, Italian or Chinese.....it's terrific . Next time we'll try Mexican! And they are very generous with their servings. We have enough left over for another meal. Lovely family and delicious food. Certainly not fancy but friendly and very clean. Do your family a favor! Try it. BTW! They do lots of take out........ Good to know. read more

Bad business. Let a customer know that your soup of the day isn't included in your to-go order, ESPECIALLY when you see them tip you for a to-go order at that. So while a customer sits and waits 10-15 minutes for their order they can at least sip and enjoy the soup. As someone who's been in the food service industry their whole life as well as my family being successful chefs, I got a real bad taste in my mouth with this business. Tipped these clowns $7 for my $10 to-go order. To each his own. This place lost a whole family of customers who are Acton locals. The food? People are lying in these reviews if they say the food is good. I wouldn't say it's the worst I've eaten, but it's within range of being horrible food. They cooked chicken in aluminum foil. Don't do it. You'll get sick. Where's the pork? This is breading in some mystery red liquid that looks like tomato base. Crazy. read more

I had great lunch at this place in Acton this past Friday. I had shrimp scampi with spaghetti. The sauce was more of a cream sauce then tomato sauce, so just more pink than red. The shrimp and the spaghetti were flavorful. At times though the cream sauce was too heavy. The spaghetti noodle used that's more on the thin side rather than thick spaghetti. Service was very good and attentive. There were lots of patrons, with the dining room really was not large. Will come back again soon. read more

The people here are very nice. And I was intrigued by a menu that includes Chinese, Italian, and American. The decor is a little cramped for my comfort zone with a TV blaring overhead. Wences is a trusty town go to. They have everything!! The Marsala is probably the best flavor I've ever had, but be sure to request your own sides. I really have never had a bad experience at Wences. I've dined in and I've picked up several times and I really appreciate their consistency. It is a little bit of a wait for pick up on the weekends, but it is absolutely worth it. Second time eating here. Will continue. Last night my wife called for delivery and was told that there was no delivery! As soon as she hung up, she received a call back from the restaurant telling her that there was a mistake and that deliveries were being made. The clerk stated that she got the days wrong or something. Needless to say, we were happy that they called us back. My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich and I ordered the Asada burrito. Her comments were that the sandwich was fine with large portions, but that the pastrami itself was missing something in the flavoring. Maybe it wasn't pickled or something so that diminished the experience to her. I thought that burrito was the bomb and couldn't get enough of it. It was huge so I could only eat half of it last night and saved the remainder for later. I couldn't get over the fact that the flavoring was just right. Not overpowering in any sense with the portions of the food exceptionally balanced. Each bite from the first contained meat, rice and beans. The meat was Asada so it could have been fatty as many places make it, but not here. Delicious! I'm not a food connoisseur, I just like to eat when hungry. But for the first time in a long time I felt like calling up the restaurant and complementing the chef. Well done! Lets see how things go next time. read more

I had went to Wence's not too long ago and it was amazing. So we had to go again and this time not so amazing:( Tables were taken up with employees and their families, we didn't feel welcome. They send us timely but we felt more like a bother at that moment then appreciated. The food was ok . Their machine to pay went down so we had to do something different through our phone to pay, awkward. Needless to say our experience was so bad this time and $40 for 2 meals we won't be going back. read more

We finally made our way to Wence's for lunch. It was hard trying to decide if we wanted burgers, Chinese, Italian, or Mexican dishes. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. The place is small. (max seating 24) My wife and I decided to try their burgers. I had the ortega burger and added bacon. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger. Both came with fries. We both enjoyed our burgers. They did not skimp on the bacon of either burger. I could tell the tomatoes were fresh and flavorful. The only thing that would have made my burger any better, would have been to be chargrilled! The fries were really good too! We were approached by Wence (the owner) and chatted for a while. We had mentioned we enjoyed our meal and looking forward to returning to try other selections from the menu. I mentioned the fried fish the customer behind us had, and it looked really good. He asked if we would like to try it, and we accepted his offer. A few minutes later, he brought out a couple pieces with tartar sauce. They were hot, so we waited a few minutes. They were golden brown with a nice an crunchy batter coating. From what I could tell, the fish was fresh. It was tender, flaky, moist and a nice crunchy coating. It was really good! We order some hot wings to take home to our son. The price was very reasonable. We are looking forward to returning. read more

OMG Their Fish and Chips are out of this world phenomenal. As a person who has spent a lifetime of eating fish during Lent- this fish is on a different level- fresh, tasty, deep fried just right. And the portions are enormous, I think I had five large pieces of fish. The fries were great- fresh (just made, not sitting around under heat lamp), not greasy. I also ordered the Shrimp with lobster sauce and fried rice because I asked for my order to be delivered and needed to make their delivery minimum (I live 3.5 miles away from Wences but am handicapped- don't drive much). Cesar was very helpful, bringing my order in the house (at my request) and putting it on my table so I didn't have to mess with the door and the order bag. Have lived on and off in the area for 47 years. First time ever to Wences and got my family a meal to go. My meal was perfect, Chicken Alfredo Parmesan, would definitely order it again if we were ever to go back. Spaghetti and meatballs, very delicious. Fried mushrooms! OMG Awesome! Now for the reason of only 3 stars. My husband ordered regular Chicken Parmesan, the chicken was so burnt and dried out the dogs wouldn't even eat it! How could they allow something burnt so badly to go out? Don't they realize that no matter how good the rest of the food is, that the person that got the bad food would never want food from that restaurant again? Nonexistent service, food served in cheap styrofoam plates, cups, and bowls. Fork made of the cheapest plastic. It's not the height of the pandemic folks, this place thinks it can get on your sympathies. I say avoid this scheissehole. It doesn't deserve to take your money for cheap everything. My family and I was very disappointed with extra charge of $4.99 for only beef magnolian and the quantity was actually smaller than last time ordered and without the $4.99 charge. Also, meatball spaghetti now only has two meatballs but three weeks ago, came with four. Unbelievable after coming here for 13 years. Also, prices change from each visit. read more

We tried this place for the first time. Did a pickup order. Really don't like to leave a bad review, especially for a local business. Food wasn't very flavorful. Pan fried noodles didn't have any noodles! I know they have a wide variety to choose from but we were craving Chinese. The BBQ ribs and egg rolls were good though.
