That cookie was so burned and hard, it was inedible and the bar, was a huge mass of brown sugar crust, it was mainly crust with hardly any cake underneath, so sadly i didnt enjoy either purchase. That response rubbed me the wrong way. In today's economy, that kind of cold and transactional reply from a small business I've supported feels off-putting and greedy. On top of that, I tried a "tiramisu cookie" that had no coffee flavor, no mascarpone, nothing that even remotely resembled tiramisu. It tasted like a plain sugar cookie, and honestly, it felt like false advertising. If you're going to market something as tiramisu, it should at least reflect the flavors of what you're promising. Between that and the secretive dressing situation, I can't help but question whether the dressing is even homemade--or if it's just bottled and marked up. These experiences have made me lose trust in the brand and what it claims to represent. I won't be returning.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! This was my childhood ice cream place in the 70s. It was in-between where I lived in Johnstown and my grandparents' house in Palatine Bridge. My great uncle's brother owned this at one point many, many years ago (from what I understand). Can't say enough about this place!!!! I went back recently (when visiting from California) and it is exactly the same as it was when I walked in there when I was 8 years old. read more

Grandpa works the donut making robot, cranking out hot apple cider donuts while watching the world go by from the window. The building may be a little bit run down, but the place is totally charming. There are a few tables toward the back of the shop to sit down and enjoy your hot donuts. However, most people take them to go. That seems like a bad idea, especially since the donuts are both warm and covered with cinnamon sugar. To eat them in the car is a recipe for disaster. Sugar would get everywhere and you would soon be a sticky mess. Saving them for later would be a tragedy, since apple cider donuts are so much better when they are warm. It's a rare treat to get warm cider donuts. As Otis said, these are decidedly more aggressive on the spicing. I tasted not just cinnamon, but also nutmeg. Are they worth an hour drive? Probably not. But if you are within a half hour of this orchard, I'd say it's worth the trip.

Instead, the family in front of us was handed a separate paper menu from inside. We had no idea that was how ordering worked, so I had to excuse myself past the people in line just to ask for one. It would have been much more customer-friendly if menus were readily available or if there was a sign letting customers know to ask for one. I was very disappointed with my visit. I ordered a hard vanilla ice cream sundae with fudge, peanut butter, and marshmallow, and it was nowhere near worth the $9 I paid. The vanilla ice cream tasted freezer-burned, with a dry, icy texture and a noticeable "crunch" that wasn't from nuts or any toppings, but from the ice crystals in the ice cream itself. It had a stale taste, and the texture made it seem like it had been sitting in the freezer too long. On top of that, there were barely any toppings. The fudge, peanut butter, and marshmallow were so sparse that I honestly wouldn't even consider it a real sundae. For the price, I expected fresh ice cream and generous toppings. Instead, I got what felt like a cup of old ice cream with just a small amount of topping. I don't mind paying premium prices when the quality matches, but this experience was very disappointing, and I wouldn't order it again. Also, there was an older gentleman wearing suspenders who appeared to be the owner or manager. While I was waiting for my order, I watched him speaking to the young employees in a way that came across as rude and dismissive. I obviously don't know what was going on behind the scenes, but from a customer's perspective it was uncomfortable to watch and created an unwelcoming atmosphere. The way employees are treated says a lot about a business, and unfortunately it left a negative impression on me.
