Charming and quite popular diner located in downtown Wellsboro. I stopped in at 10:30 AM expecting a modest size crowd, however the diner was packed (mostly with regulars). The building is from the 1930's and still has that feel (in a good way). Despite being crowded the service was quick and friendly. The menu offered typical diner fair that was rather tasty. Quintessential small town diner. I selected this spot for a second breakfast at the end of my long drive to the Pine Creek Rail Trail. I'd recommend it to anyone just passing through town just because the service was as expeditious as it could have been. When it came to the food, I was also impressed by the cinnamon roll being genuinely home made without that typical slightly-overcooked shell. The omelette for $9.99 was also great. These days, I can really appreciate an uncomplicated, affordable menu. I have been coming here all my life; I am now 69. My Nana's family was from Wellsboro so she brought me to Wellsboro many times over the years. Today I am coming with my two adult nieces to carry on the tradition. I always suggest the pies and I eat a slice first before having a cheeseburger cooked on the flattop grill. The pies are especially delicious the coconut cream is my favorite. This is a traditional diner car so has the charm of the diner car with an extension built on the side. Slide in a booth or sit at the counter if you can and enjoy a true piece of Americana. Friendly service in a unique atmosphere. Not a bad thing but one interesting observation I found was that the menu is quite small compared to other diners I've been to. This diner is so super cute from the inside and out! We are early birds so we were happy this diner was open early at 6 am!. There were a few patrons inside at this early hour. The menu was very small just a few items. I ordered breakfast with pancakes and hash browns. It was just diner food - we were hungry. Thank god for ketchup and salt n pepper. The menu was actually dull if that's possible.. very basic. I even asked the waitress a question about specials or pumpkin spice pancakes anything.. she couldn't even answer. When my boyfriends burger arrived (he loves burgers for breakfast!) it came on a plate all by itself no chips.. it was supposed to come with a side of chips but was pretty pathetic on a plate.. Been here four times when we visit Wellsboro to hike. I'm surprised with the low reviews but feel this is the best restaurant in the area. Many times we come it is busy. We still enjoy the atmosphere particularly around the bar. Staff and owner has always been friendly. Jamie took great care of us tonight although she said to night was her last night. I'm not quite sure if what I ate were real eggs (and I forgot to take a photo). I've never seen eggs that were so deep yellow in color and they were more on the chewy side than light and fluffy. I enjoyed sitting at the counter at this cute, historic diner in Wellsboro, PA. It's been here since 1929 according to their signage, and it's a historic building worth checking out. I had a salad, mashed potatoes + gravy, and soup. The sandwiches I saw coming out of the kitchen looked HUGE and DELICIOUS, especially the chili cheeseburger and roast beef sandwich covered in gravy.
