Always a must when staying in Wellsboro. Great food, great service always! I got the Cheesesteak. Provolone, caramelized onions, peppers, side of Onion Rings, mozzarella sticks. Everything was great, perfectly cooked. Rings and sticks were crunchy, awesome. I will always eat here, everytime I'm in town.

The ambiance of the diner is super cute! The outside and inside of the diner feels like what'd you see in a diner from the 90's. Not a bad thing but one interesting observation I found was that the menu is quite small compared to other diners I've been to. Service was very good as we were seated right away and the food came out shortly after ordering. The food itself though I found to be very disappointing. Specifically, I got a chicken sandwich which comes with chips. The sandwich was decent however what I was turned off by the chips was literally a bag of lays potato chip.

Been here four times when we visit Wellsboro to hike. I'm surprised with the low reviews but feel this is the best restaurant in the area. Many times we come it is busy. We still enjoy the atmosphere particularly around the bar. Staff and owner has always been friendly. Jamie took great care of us tonight although she said to night was her last night. Good selection of beer. We find the food to be the winner. My wife tried the haddock and I had the chicken parm entree. Very pleased with both.

Very sophisticated and efficient diner. I found the outside to be a tad rustic (standard for a diner), but the inside was sleek and modern. There was only one waitress and one cook but they were faster than McDonald's. I ordered eggs, toast, home fries, and bacon and it was served to me in minutes. Best diner fare I've had. Excited to go back and try dinner.

Come here for the novelty but be prepared for over priced mediocre food.

I really hope management can re-vamp their menu and improve the food quality! Too bad the food was so disappointing since the service was great, the restaurant was clean and the ambiance was fun, old-timey novelty. However, this place is CRAZY overpriced for what it is!!! We got two sides and two slices of pie, with tip - be prepared to spend $50 for below average food. We came here to try the pies (oreo and egg custard) and that was a huge mistake!! I felt like crap for hours after The oreo pie crust was mushy and the filling...well, it was bland, heavy, and...well frankly, off. The egg custard pie was mediocre. At the last minute, we decided to try the fried chicken and...meh. However, the liver and onions were good!! Extra star for that! Go here for the liver and onions and super friendly service!!

These other posts knocking this place on their breakfast menu is silly. It's a breakfast DINER. They are doing the best the can being a tiny spot. Food was great and just on point for a diner. Prices are comparable for the town they are in. If you're a normal person and expect diner food at a diner while in Wellsboro then you will not be let down.

The waitress was incredibly quick and kind. The classic 50s style brought a smile to our face as we remembered how much our grandparents loved this classic diner. The food is typical diner food, but perfect for a family breakfast or lunch.

Small quantities of high priced mediocre food. The charm of Olde Tyme diners is the main attraction.

I stumbled across The Farmer's Table last night on yelp, and perused through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I was intrigued! So tonight, I took a trip to Blossburg, and was impressed by the restaurant's cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the atmosphere that I would describe as modern farm- chic. The food- fresh and delicious! There were several options on the menu....it was difficult to decide! I went with the almond, cranberry, grilled chicken salad with a balsamic vinaigrette- the dish that initially caught my eye. My guest ordered a ribeye steak and was impressed by its taste and overall quality! If you are passing through Blossburg, or simply wish to support a small business, please stop by The Farmer's Table and give it a taste!

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

HOTEL GUEST FREE BREAKFAST REVIEW…read more Our stay at Penn Wells Hotel in downtown Wellsboro, PA, included complementary breakfast each morning. It was provided in the farthest partition of the large dining room, immediately outside the kitchen door. It was available daily between 7-10 a.m. The dining room was mahogany wall covered with B&W photos of past events and celebrities of the 19th and early 20th Century, and paintings by local artists. It wasn't bad as a gallery of historic personalities and moments in the long life of this hotel, and its status as the coolest place to be seen in town. Breakfast itself was decent, but far from outstanding. As the saying goes; "You're paying for the atmosphere," if , in fact, you're paying at all. The menu consisted of instant scrambled eggs, brown & serve morning sausage, bread/bagels/muffins, cups of yogurt, fresh fruit, instant oatmeal and Starbucks coffee. Buffet style, you can return for as much as you wanted. I didn't load up due to my physical plans for each day, but ate enough to know it was all satisfying and filling; especially the java. It was a good place to start the day. There was plenty of room. We were allowed to sit anywhere in the large dining room, and the chafing trays were kept warm and refilled. Aside from the "instant" nature of most of the food, the break was well worth the fast.
