I really loved the fridge since our ice packs that thawed could actually be frozen again. We had bought deli meats and cheese for our lunch the next day, so we needed good refrigeration. The television was a bit of a challenge to figure out--you had to work so many controls to watch a regular program (not watch-on-demand). The bathroom was clean and there are refreshing citrus shampoos and conditioners provided in the shower. Our son loved the pool--it's a great way for kids to use up some of their energy after being cooped up in the car! A good complimentary breakfast is included with a selection of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and tea. The parking lot was very spacious, making it easy to unpack and pack your car during check-in and check-out.

The $100 per person should have had at least a light sandwich meal + beverage included. We feel there should have been more than 3 wineries visited. We do not feel we got full value for $400. My last booking even ended up being $20 cheaper than I'd expected so I can't complain about that. My more nitpicky issues involve the last vehicle I rented. I noticed that when I hit the highway, the van was louder than I expected it to be. Perhaps this is just part of driving a Town and Country but my friends also commented on this once I picked them up. I mentioned this when I returned the van but the employee didn't seem too interested. In addition, it was obvious that the back seat of this van had not been cleaned between rentals as there was a clear grease mark on one of the back windows. Yuckkkk!

Food from Mantles and Morrisey's are pretty good. Rooms are clean and spacious, and there's AC which is needed during the summer heat. It does get cooler at night. Our room (436) came with coffee machine (Nespresso Capsules), electric kettle, small fridge, and safe. There's a parking fee per night and it's underground parking. Parking stalls are small so some vehicles take up more than a spot. The drive to the soccer fields are long but we enjoyed the scenic drive (about 50mins each way). Don't rush the drive up or down, enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Be careful as there are wildlife on the drive up/down from Sun Peaks. We saw deer a couple of times on the side of the road and a juvenile black bear (we almost hit one) darted out of the bushes on to the road at one point. Overall, we had a great experience and glad we chose to stay here.

We had been staying at Fairmont Hotels, which are known for their high quality (and expense), so I want to keep that in mind as I write this review. The hotel reminds me of one that we have back home, that is set up for families. The lobby is large and spacious. Upon arriving we were greeting by the friendly staff. Our room was on the second floor. It's a large space, with two queen size beds. There was plenty of space for our luggage, a couple extra shares, and even space to exercise. The bathroom was large and had a tub (I prefer a walk-in shower). The place was "nice", but definitely a bit dated. It was clean, but also needed some TLC (worn/chipped paint, etc). There is a large recreation area that contains a pool and hot-tub. We took advantage of the hot tub which was clean and fully operational (lots of jets and bubbles). Plenty of chairs set up in different areas if you had kids and wanted to keep an eye on them. There are also rooms on all three levels that look out on to this area. Overall, a decent experience. I don't know the actual cost would have been, but on the online price is approx $170/$200 for a weeknight/weekend. They also have a restaurant inside that is a nice convenience (reviewed separately).

The good bits: staff were friendly, the room spacious and clean, beds very comfortable and WiFi speed decent. The room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine, but no room safe. The downsides: the hotel feels quite tired, and our room faced the atrium, so it had no natural light or ventilation. There was a lingering smell of chlorine from the swimming pool and echoing, penetrating noise from other guests until late at night from the atrium seating area (take ear plugs). The air conditioning was effective but very noisy. Overall, it did the job, but I would not stay again here by choice.

Thick white towels and modern bathrooms. High quality bedding and comfortable mattresses. Special touches such as a microwave for guest use and a non-traditional vending machine with interesting snacks are a bonus. The rooftop (actually 2nd floor) pool/hot tub area is spectacular. Kids and adults alike enjoy using the space. Poolside bar and meal service is available. Staff routinely maintain the pool area, picking up stray towels and dirty dishes. The upgraded executive package is a good deal, as it includes underground parking and a breakfast voucher for the on-site restaurant. The breakfast menu has many options from pancakes to eggs Benedict, and the food is high quality and prepared to order. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Kamloops and is steps from a full-service grocery store, a large drug store, and many cafes and boutiques. I wear earplugs when sleeping, so I cannot comment on room-to-room noise. I don't feel that the noise transfer between rooms is atypical for a building of it's age/construction type. I sleep better here than at home. Overall exceptional experience. I look forward to staying here.

When we arrived the building was updated and modern. Smelled nice and it was hot that day, however the hotel was cooled to a good temp. The staff was very friendly. Went to the room and it was so-so. Not the best room, but not bad enough to go to a different hotel. The area of concern was the riff raff they allow in the hotel. The level of clientele was low. We really go to know this when we were trying to sleep. People were partying in the hallway and were very loud. We called down to the manager and they said they would take care of it. We waited and the noise came back. I called down again and management said they would be removing the loud guests shortly. The noise then stopped, however a good night's sleep was out of the question at this point. Not sure if it is the proximity to the casino, but the quality of customers was very low during our stay.

If you don't want to walk, you can drive and park by the front office lot. Rustic cabins: Full size fridge, oven, gas stove, electricity, wood stove (for heat). 7A doesn't have extra outlets so we had to unplug the oven to charge cell phones etc. Fully stocked with plates/bowls/cutlery/pots/pans/paper towels/dish soap.
