The biggest bummer was that the green trolley we chose to ride on is unable to do the loop around so we were only able to go back and forth in a straight line unlike the yellow trolley which actually went in around its track to face forward again. The gift shop was super cute and the hot chocolate and candy canes were a great touch to stay warm!

I could have stayed in there all day, if I was the only one in the room. So much detail to each display. It can get a little crowded, which can make it difficult to see all of the detail without feeling rushed or in the way. There are some exhibits upstairs as well, don't forget that section. The gift shop was fun to browse while waiting for our trolley boarding time. I was able to purchase a great souvenir t-shirt - great quality. They had a few snacks and beverages for sale as well. The volunteers were very busy helping and directing people while we were there. The boarding area was spacious with things to look and some engineers standing by to load people onto the trolley. They provided a nice history narrative as the trolley meandered through the property. We were excited as our tour included a stop in the pumpkin patch. We were able to pick one pumpkin per person/ticket. After the tour you have the ability to walk around the campus to the MANY displays and vehicles. We were able to also walk into the the repair garage and see the mechanics and artists working to restore some of the older trolley/train cars. We loved our time there and would definitely return with friends and family. Thank you to all of the hardworking team and volunteers for preserving the history.

Because it's an older theater, their solution to a smaller parking lot is to have everyone park in a long row, and they make you pull up so that you're bumper to bumper. If the cars in front of you hustle to the parking lot, it's fine. If they don't, you're stuck until they show up as the cars park so close you can't even get out. I don't love that, but there is nowhere else around to park nearby. The lobby is pretty small and gets very crowded before the doors open. There are snacks and souvenirs for purchase. They don't have a bag check, so I brought my own water, which was great. The theater itself is small and cozy, so most seats will have a good view. I saw Come from Away and was definitely seated closer and more affordably than I could have been in a NYC venue. The performers were all very talented - this isn't just some locals who got on stage. The warned many, many times there was no intermission, and they wouldn't let you back in if you needed to use the restroom, which seemed a bit extreme. There were a lot of other good shows in the upcoming season, so if you are from nearby or staying in the area, it's worth checking out what's on stage. It's a good experience at a good price.

I love old libraries and love old libraries made out of old stones the best. This entire building is made out of local field stones. Incredibly stunning to look at. I spent some time just walking around the lovely building admiring the work and textures of the library. Of course having lovely gardens outside the library doesn't exactly hurt the experience. But the library is more than just a lovely building made from cool stones and surround by beautiful flowers. Although that would probably be enough for me to give it five stars. However to make things even better the inside of the library is lovely too. All kinds of cool things are inside; great old pictures, stuffed owls, huge grandfather clocks, lovely ceilings, rocking chairs and even a small model of the library. It even has books, periodicals and computers but you can find those at any library. This library is definitely something special, both on the inside and out. Maine has a whole lot of very cool libraries but this one is really, really one of the most stunning.

It's also made of stone, but the style is more Tudor and the inside is larger. This library is relatively small, but it's well laid out, elegant in design and functional. It was built in 1897. You can read its history on the library website. It gladdened my heart just to sit inside it. I checked the shelves of books for sale, a relatively small collection left over from the book sale, according to the librarian, a cordial young woman w/ an English accent who grew up in London, but didn't find a copy of "A Gentleman in Moscow". There are the usual computers and shelves and shelves of books. The library is open from 9-12 and 2-5 daily, except Sundays. In the winter it's closed Sunday, Monday and holidays.
