Though she was booked all day and was traveling the next day, she still let me come by during her only free hour since I was so sore post-race. The massage work is terrific. Tamara is very strong, but more importantly is also very skilled and is able to locate the knotted areas that need the most work. She's also very knowledgeable; I had initially asked for a deep tissue massage, but she explained that was too intense for one day after the race and did a mix of Swedish and deep tissue work. I was amazed by how much better my body felt the next day. The pricing is competitive, especially for such a good quality massage. Tamara is also flexible and allowed me to use Chase QuickPay, which was very convenient. I would most definitely recommend her and I will definitely be going back!

Her deep tissue massage therapy work is among the best I've ever experienced. She was able to both work out the knots in my shoulders, and she was also able to get to the root of my back problem (holding my large toddler incorrectly on one hip will need to change.) I know she can do the relaxing, Swedish type massage therapy also--but if you really need some serious body maintenance work done, Tamara can get it done. She was able to bring her table to my house, which was convenient. I think she'll come to Elmhurst locations with no additional fee--farther drives may have a fee. Pricing is competitive. Small discount for first time clients--see her web page for details.

I've had ridiculous pain in my upper back ever since my delivery. After hearing that I had this pain, she called back and said she would make time for me. She took time out from her busy schedule, because she said she completely understood how bad the pain can be as a new mom. Her space is really calming and the massage itself was just what I needed to feel better. She customized it according to my pain areas and took the time to hear about what was specially bothering me. Vive is a very calming space. The lights are low and it's very comfortable. It looks small at first but there's a small waiting room down the hall from the entrance. Since it was my first visit, I spoke with the receptionist prior to my visit, and I filled out a medical/treatment history upon arrival. Amanda reviewed it with me thoroughly before starting my treatment. Amanda was also very professional. In addition to going over health information, she made sure that I was comfortable with what massage entails, that consent and comfort was paramount, and that I could tell her at any point if I was uncomfortable with what was happening. I really appreciated that clear communication. Something that's really helpful is that Vive lists all their therapists on their website, and in addition to their specialties it lists their pressure level. That was extremely helpful to me, because I knew I wanted someone who used firm pressure, so that definitely helped me find the right therapist. My time with Amanda was not only relaxing but helpful, as my back--whilst not completely neutral--felt much better after my session. And within the week the pain was essentially gone. I don't know if this was the reason, but it was certainly a contributing factor. In addition to standard massage, they have an infrared sauna here as well. They also sell a few items that may provide further relief. There are a few parking spaces in the lot directly in front of the business, and there are a few diagonal spaces on the street as well (just be sure not to block the sidewalk). If necessary, there's also parking along the neighborhood streets, too.
