Eva showed me where to drop my towel, how to turn on the red light therapy, change my color light and temperature, and select what streaming service I wanted to watch during my session. All rooms are private and come with two towels, a tv remote, and eucalyptus towel for after. They recommend watching a short, branded explanation video before going to the home screen to select from watching Netflix, Hulu or Youtube. The sauna is set to 140 degrees for 40 minutes but one can alter to your preference. Overall, I felt like it was a good experience but didn't feel extremely different after and was a bit of a premium within the wellness market. Staff didn't push sales hard which I appreciated. Upon arrival, door access is controlled through a mobile apps so since I wasn't registered yet, one of the staff members kindly let me in. We went through a brief questionnaire discussing why I was interested in joining and what fitness goals. I was hoping to achieve this year. I was then given a tour of the facility and led to my scheduled class, which was hot yoga. Each class takes place in its own sauna, designed to accommodate about 2 to 3 people at a time. The workout itself is guided through a screen inside the sauna,which I personally did not enjoy. Classes like yoga, Pilates, it can be challenging to follow independently, and I value having an instructor present to demonstrate proper form and correct posture when needed. That hands-on guidance makes a big difference for me.. HOTWORX offers two membership packages. The highest one right now it's $80 unlimited classes at home and in person, that includes a small weight machine area in the back, you have to purchase their supplies such as their towel, mat, and one other item. It also includes an app to use on your phone to count your calories, food intake and all that great stuff. Overall, the staff was welcoming, friendly, professional, but the concept just wasn't the right fit for me. Also, if you ever plan to take a free trial, make sure to wear almost nothing and take a ton of water with you and a towel because you will sweat and be hot!!!

For our family, WSC serves multiple purposes. My husband is an active tennis player who tries to play at least twice a week. Considering how brutally cold Chicago winters are, it wouldn't be feasible to play outdoors during the winter months. So with WSC, he has been able to find a community of players to play throughout the winter. On the weekends, my husband would give our young girls and cousins private tennis lessons. There are four, all year-round, indoor courts, and eight dome courts for the winter. We have been consistently going every weekend for the last four months and have yet to encounter any availability issues. In addition to tennis, our girls have also joined the swimming lessons. For level 3, there are usually 2-4 instructors. Thus far, we have had a good experience with Ms. Abby, Mr. Christopher, and Ms. Christina. The class size is generally around 8-12 kids depending on attendance. Knowing how young children are, it takes a ton of effort and patience to get them to listen to instructions. Huge kudos to these instructors for having that high-level patience! As for myself, I would utilize the gym equipment such as treadmills, ab machines, and weights. All of the equipment are well maintained and clean. WSC could get busy on the weekends but I have not had trouble with machine availability. All in all, WSC is a solid place for anybody looking for a place to play indoor tennis, have young children who are interested in swimming, and/or just trying to maintain healthy life choices.

I went to visit when they were in the midst of construction. It had been a gym previously by another owner and was bought by ATI and remodeled. They have a kids center, room for classes (spin, yoga, etc.), pool, sauna, hot tub, full beautiful locker room, juice bar with nutritional supplements available and a full floor of free weights, every type of Precor imaginable (some with their own tv screens you can plug your headphones in to) and big scary machinery for those looking to bulk up. Nate was my sales person. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and most definately not pushy. I have seen the manager in the gym, greeting people at the front desk, on both occasions which is a nice change from the impersonal lack of greeting at the large gym up the street (which I still have a beef with). All in all, it's a great club. I am reserving my 5 star rating for a short time while I get more acclimated to the club as a whole. I am also waiting for their classes to start, which won't be a full menu until February. Also, my only issue so far is that you have to bring your own lock. Kind of caught me off guard when I went the first time and ended up having to leave my wallet, keys, phone, etc. in my car. Would have been nice if they have some on hand that you can rent for a short time. Just a thought. Overall, I am very impressed so far. Reasonable prices for monthly membership (less than the big gym down the street) and more personal service.
