Needham Driving School was a really bad experience. The instructors didn't seem to know the rules…read moreof the road very well, and some were really mean. One instructor kept asking if I could see. She's slammed on the brakes many times for no reason. I would understand if I was doing something unsafe but like it was literally every single turn. She also yelled at me and made up weird situations, like saying I hit a person when I had a green light. Like no, there fully wasn't a pedestrian there. And if there was, I would've stopped. I remember once a light turned yellow but I had plenty of time. It was gonna make it through before it turned red. The instructor slammed on her brakes and we ended up in the middle of the intersection because there was absolutely no way to stop before the light. We then sat there until our light turned green again and we were blocking traffic. the whole cycle she would not let me go, even though we were in the middle of the intersection Scheduling lessons was also a nightmare. They say lessons are posted at noon on Wednesdays, but they're actually gone way before that. You have to check super early and keep refreshing the page. A lot of the instructors corrected me every two seconds, and didn't give me any room to learn or practice on my own. It felt like they wouldn't let me try to figure things out, which was really frustrating. The classroom part was okay, but the driving part was awful. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Isaac is a great guy when I make mistakes yes he will point it out in a louder voice and will adjust a wheel in time but no worries I know he's correcting me to keep me and the others safe on the road, and when I do something well he points it out and compliments it. I was initially nervous when I saw that multiple instructors would be working with me. After I emailed them with my worry, they called very quickly to explain the benefit of learning from different instructors, something that ultimately helped me feel prepared for the road test since you never know which examiner you'll get. Every instructor I drove with was patient, professional, and clearly invested in both my safety and my success. As an adult learning to drive in this city, I can't recommend this school highly enough.

Unfortunately, his experience was overwhelmingly disappointing and I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Our primary issue was the complete lack of consistency between instructors. He had at least three different teachers, primarily switching between Ervin and Vitaly. While Ervin was patient and seemed to genuinely enjoy teaching, the same cannot be said for his counterpart. Vitaly was, frankly, obnoxious. He lacked basic respect for his students, was often loud and visibly frustrated, creating an environment where my father felt intimidated and unable to ask questions. If you don't have the patience for this job, why are you in it? To make matters worse, he made uncalled-for and stereotypical "jokes" about Indians being bad drivers, which was completely unprofessional and offensive. The biggest practical problem arose from this inconsistency. Ervin and Vitaly taught completely different techniques for parallel parking. One would say to do it one way, and the next lesson, the other would contradict it. This constant change in instruction confused my father daily and shattered his confidence. The culmination of this failure was on his road test. He failed specifically because of the parallel parking maneuver. The conflicting advice from his own instructors left him unsure of the correct method, leading to a critical error. I hold Brookline Driving School 100% responsible for this. We are cutting our losses and heeding our neighbors' recommendation to try Waltham Driving School instead. Save your time, your money, and your sanity--go somewhere else. This school is unorganized and employs instructors who are not aligned, with at least one who lacks the basic demeanor required to teach.

CRA states that "there are occasional dates on which programming is cancelled. These interruptions are taken into account when calculating monthly tuition." So there were at least 9 cancelled classes and it is hard to wrap my head around the math - it seems like a few months, we were paying $100.00/class. I guess the money spent is OK if the instruction is consistently top-notch, but not if it is otherwise. Recently, there was an abrupt change in swimming instructors, and I wanted to talk to someone in management about it. I wrote two emails, waited a week, and was promised a call which I never received. So I'm finishing out my time with CRA since I already paid $200.00 for the final month of May, but as I said, I am SO disappointed and will likely not return. It is a real bummer. Follow-up: The new director of aquatic programming finally called me back and it was one of the most unsatisfying conversations I've ever had. He doesn't listen in an open-minded way and has canned answers. I trusted him, but when I got there, that RMV turned out to be even stricter than the others -- and I failed. After talking to people there, it became clear this RMV is known for rejecting people. It honestly felt like Yohannes sent me there on purpose so I'd fail and have to pay him again for another test. Complete scam move. Avoid this school at all costs.
