This review is specifically about Mckenna Coffey, Pre-Licensed Provider, who is being supervised by Kendall Perez (LCSW #86801).
I would not recommend McKenna Coffey as a therapist. She terminated us unethically, and without providing continuity of care. She, as well as her supervisor, Kendall Perez, are unprofessional and should be required to take additional law and ethics courses.
My partner and I had been seeing Mckenna for less than two months before she terminated us. I want to be very clear, we knew that Mckenna wasn't licensed and so we understood the quality and level of experience we were receiving. However, we were shocked and disappointed when she terminated us without warning or clear explanation.
I tried to contact Mckenna to discuss the termination, but I was unable to get in touch with her by phone. We, instead, communicated by email. However, I was still left feeling confused, angry, and betrayed.
I believe that Mckenna's actions were unethical and unprofessional. She terminated us without providing us with any notice or explanation, and she did not provide us with any referrals for other therapists. I believe that she should be required to take additional law and ethics courses to learn how to properly terminate therapy with clients; this is called Continuity of Care! Which she did NOT provide.
We would urge anyone considering seeing McKenna Coffey as a therapist to reconsider. She is not a competent or ethical therapist, and she is not qualified to help you with your mental health issues. read more
