The front desk staff is not friendly, can be rude and argumentative and makes even the most simple things complex. There were multiple incidents that led me to change practices. Once my son was given a prescription and it wasn't called into the pharmacy as promised. By that point, the office had closed for the evening and there was no way to get it. I called the next morning, and the woman on the phone kept insisting it was done and acted like nothing could be done to help. No exaggeration, I had to plead with her to stop the drama and call it in again if that was the case. Another time, we were kept waiting for almost an hour for our appointment (with a baby!) and when I went to inquire about when we would be seen, the staff was too busy complaining about their new computer system, literally cursing, to address me at the window. I patiently waited for several minutes until I finally interrupted them. I'm as foul mouthed as the rest of NYC is, but in a doctors office? While ignoring your patients? In front of children? There was another instance where it took about 15 minutes to make an appointment. The woman kept having side conversations, she would put me on hold without saying she was putting me on hold, and then said she had to enter my son in the system again. When I got to the practice, none of the information I gave her was in his file, and I had to give it to them all again. I could keep going, but I am sure you get the idea by now. These last three incidents happened in rapid succession of each other, and I left the practice immediately after. You also never get the same doctor. I had specifically requested the same doctor several times, and it was never communicated to me I wouldn't see our preferred doctor until we were in the exam room. I loved every doctor we saw, but the hoops and hurdles to get there were too much.

I took 4 1/2 hrs off work to go to this app only to be called while I'm on my way to the app 20min before 'that I would be billed out of network ??? So I said I can't afford out of network and told them I was advised she was in network they said well she can see you but you will be billed out of network and get a big bill because of UMR Is my 3 rd party billing ???? All doctors I've seen, my GP and also other doctors when mine was unavailable, have been lovely. They have finally fixed a lot of their appointment making issues and now have a modern online appointment scheduling system with app compatibility, but also now have way less availability than previously for some reason. The past two times I've needed quick care, I wasn't able to get an appointment for nearly a week. (Ended up going to urgent care for help instead) A minimum of 5 days for a pressing issue is normal. They don't allow you to walk in and wait for an opening to pop up. Overall, the care is VERY good when you can get in and I hope they will continue to do updates with updates to the upstairs as well.

Recently you added a PA to your staff. Her name is Christine Greco. I applaud you select tionna of adding her to your staff. She is very witty and smart. She brings a fresh new vibe to your office. Since she's more recently out of medical school I feel her knowledge is of great value to your group. Her knowledge of medications and there effects on a person are phenomenal. A even greater value and understanding I have with her as apposed to other doctors at your office is, she like me has problems with b disk herniation as I do. This knowledge and experience gives her a better understanding of my injuries and complaints she physically experiences them whereas some of your other physicians as they do not/have not had to live their life in constant pain and have no true understanding when I say I need you to increase the dosage or the amount of tablets I take daily. I feel they spend more time worried about a medical license audit or my dosages being what they THINK they should be but do not live in my body every day. They have no physical pain to base this decision on just what my height and weight say I should take. They have a real difficulty understanding my body needs higher dosages than they feel comfortable writing a prescription for. I've by personal preferences have chosen not to take certain medications because 9f the dude affects. First instance I have in the past taken garvapantan/norontin in the past. I stopped taking it because a side effect it causes is incontinence so instead of my doctor saying ok I understand why your refusing to take this medicine so let me offset it and increase your oxycodone daily amount or dosage level I get no true help and spend most if my days in pain crippling more than necessary if my doctor would simply understand based on my VARIOUS MRI's which obviously indicate a medical condition relating to disc bulges and herniation I'm told I can't raise it. Your my doctor. If what your giving me is not working isn't it your responsibility to follow medically what is necessary to make my life less painful and more productive? I'd I've already repeatedly advised my doctor I refuse to have surgery on my spine b Eva use it requires sedation and I had a traumatic experience relating to sedation/medically induced coma gor 6 weeks because after being placed in one of lost my identity. I have memory lose and after 3 years I was finally able to google the side effects of being in a sedation of a medically induced coma and it stated "permanent personality changes and the inability to get a grip". I refuse to be pit in the position again so it's life long pain management for me. No I not having spine surgery. Dr. Greco understands my position and is willing to work with me as I have stated. She's thorough she doesn't rush me making me feel like just another patient. She doesn't shuffle me in and shuffle me out. I was looking for a doctor after having a few that would either kept me waiting for hours in the…read morewaiting room or not give me thorough evaluations and rushing through them. Dr. Desir was referred to me a few years ago and I have not had to look any further. The office is clean and they practice safety precautions and there are plastic shields between the chairs. She is very professional and very attentive. There is never a long wait and I am usually seen within 10-15 min of arriving by the nurse for blood work and then seen by Dr Desir within 10-15 min after that. Once in the exam room She really talks to you and asks questions and is able to connect on a personal level. She does not try to rush you out the door. She has limited hours so it could be a challenge connecting between visits but if you have the portal she is good with responding to your messages sent through the portal. She is caring, personable, thorough, and friendly. I even had my mother and mother in law come from Florida to see her because they were not getting the attention and care I thought they should get. So now they travel for visits. I also need to mention that the staff is also amazing. They are friendly and very helpful. If you are looking for a good Doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Desir.

When I was a new patient the staff made sure that I received the paperwork prior to arrival so that the process was quick and easy when I got there. I am a skeptic when it comes to doctors and whether they are knowledgeable due to personal experience with quack doctors that led to a previous lung collapse and a near plane death experience after failure to diagnose by not taking an X-ray, I know my fair share of bad doctors. Let's just say considering I've moved to Brooklyn and I'm still going to Long Island to see a doctor speaks a lot about my personal and professional feelings towards this doctor.
